Info I have is that M Chastain currently had another minor meniscus tear to his same knee, shutting it down for 4 to 6 weeks.

I wouldn't be surprised if Chastain does not finish his basketball career.

Not wanting to completely jack Elijah's thread, but this makes a lot of sense as to why Chastain wasn't going to be considered for a scholarship. It is not so much question of competitiveness or ability, but health. Muller doesn't know if Matt can get and stay healthy, and unless Chastain can prove it this season, he may be stuck in the WO situation and looking to transfer is he finishes his hoops career.

In the MVC coaches teleconference Dan did not shy away from letting the press know that Matt was still dealing with some knee issues, but is hopeful he will be a contributor this season.

That does explain a lot. When we signed Hillmsan I wondered why we really needed a 1 year guy. Seems like he played the same game as Chastain would, with both being 6'6". DM said it was important to sign Hillsman so he had an experienced person to take Boogies spot after next year. Oh well, still hoping we see Matt play this year and that he kicks some ass. I was kinda expecting him to be a defensive monster out there.

Here's Matt rejecting Boogie in Highschool
