Well, the kid and Rey just walked into the ice cream shop in uptown. Im here for work and stumbled across them. Two 7 footers decked out in ISU basketball gear are hard to miss. The kid is not as thin as youd think. Mighty long.
That's awesome! I hope those two become best buds. Can you imagine what a dynamic duo they'll become if they stay thru their senior years..
I'm still hoping to run into Buffalomeat on campus. Those 300lb lineman kinda stand out too from the rest of the student population.

I’m just counting on him not qualifying like McIntosh. Won’t sting when and if that news comes. Pleasant surprise if he’s cleared.

I kinda feel we need him this year. If he sits then we'll have 4 scholarship players riding the pine this year (Boyd, Fisher, Hillsman + Abdou). That's a good chunk of our roster. Kinda hurts the depth. I just don't want to go thru what we went through last year, and all it would take is a few injuries and there we go again. The key guy I hope stays healthy is Phil. Our guards should be super strong this year with decent depth, assuming Elijah takes a step up. But with Evan, Copeland and Jefferson we should be good, and of course Hein will play some too.

Best case is he's eligible so he can learn and get the freshman mistakes out of the way. Like many have
said, when Mac and Teddy were in this same spot, especially MM he was NOT the sharpest knife in the drawer
when he became NCAA eligible.

I do believe, TB would benefit by Abdou sitting this year. Maybe, that's looking at it wrong but just see Bruninga's
minutes increased if he's got the backup 4 spot.

This is gonna B a fun year.

He's either eligible right now or he's not. And yes it takes a long time for the clearinghouse IF there's a question as to the validity of any of his 16 core courses. This is a complicated process and high schools have a complicated task in getting their core courses approved. To illustrate this check out the NCAA portal for high schools. As a retired AD this was a part of my responsibility. Some of you may find it interesting.

This is where a new or shady school can get hung up.

This is good news. We're not I'm the clear yet regarding his eligibility but this is a step in the right direction.

Yeah I wonder if DM will say when he's eligible or not or if will just find out closer to the season. None the less great to see he's on the roster and here.

We'll either find out in August when school starts because hopefully local professional media will ask the question, or we will find out during media day in October, when the student reporters are back in full swing.

Coach is more than willing to answer questions, the right questions just have to be asked.

I agree. We need him THIS YEAR. Just like we needed Copeland last year. We always fall just short of the prize, and have a would be contributor watching from the bench. Plus, don’t want AN sitting out to set up a 5th year grad transfer. 2018-19 is a definite go for it year, and need all hands on deck.

I’m sure Dan wants this too, but it’s probably why we got him.
