Shelby Harris picked off Big Ben to seal the victory for Denver. Hopefully they sign him to a nice deal at the end of the year.

check out the video ... nice play anticipating the play, but a horrible pass.

That INT may look like good fortune but Harris has always come up with big plays. Lots of DT's could knock that pass down but Harris made the catch and ended the drive - and the game.

2nd game winning play for Shelby - he blocked a game winning FG in game #1 last season. 5.5 sacks from the interior line last season, too. Only 3.5 less than Von's total last year. Shelby is a stud.

agreed ... his recognition of what was happening and staying home was what made it a great play. And yes, he showed very nice hands and athleticism .. most interior DL would struggle to make that pick .. extended, jumping, and got 2 hands up ... most DL would struggle to do anything but bat it down, except guys like Shelby and Teddy Corwin. I recall a couple very athletic picks at ISU on DL from Teddy .. one of which sealed a game after he stayed home on a sweep right, where RB threw it back left across the field .... another of which Teddy batted because he was falling and then still got pick while laying on his back ... can't remember which games ... but I digress .. its our offseason, so I'm allowed .... grrrrr.

While just surfing around the websites for the new Alliance of American Football (the new spring league starting in 2019) I found two former Redbirds on initial rosters. Cameron Lee is listed on the roster for the Arizona HotShots (Yep, that is their real nickname...I did not make it up!). Marshaun Coprich is listed on the roster of the Birmingham Iron (Well...it is better than HotShots!). I don't know if either will be on the roster when the season begins in February 2019 but at least this may be one reason to take a look when play begins. Best of luck to both!

Here is the link to the league home page if you are interested or need to buy that HotShots T-shirt!

Heads up, the AAF starts their season in one month.

https://aaf.com/2019-season-schedule/

Cameron Lee (Arizona) and Marshaun Coprich (Birmingham) look to be on rosters so far, but I expect that if it can survive, you will see a whole bunch of ISU/MVFC players on these teams.

Slightly OT, but didn't see a place for former coaches so decided to put it here. Taylor Stubblefield is new WR coach at Miami (FL) and Holmon Wiggins is the new WR coach at Alabama. Good for them. Two of the nicest guys you'll meet.

"Shag" O'Shaughnessey is a free agent this year. Nagy was his coach for a time in KC. I know the Bears are not as in love with Burton as he proved to have more limitations that they thought as the year went along. Shaheen has been a big disappointment and can't stay on the field.

Dion Sims will be released in a cost cutting salary cap move.

Shag ended up starting the last half of the year in Jax in 2018. He is regarded league wide as a good blocker and he also offers good ST value. We know he has the ability as a receiver as well.

Could a former Bird and Naperville kid come home? just connecting some dots........ :D

The new league begins play this weekend. I checked the rosters and do not see either former Redbird on the rosters. I cant say I have much reason to look in on the games now.

Good move for him. Close to home and he's still young enough to make a good living and grab some retirement.

Luke was a highly underrated QB for ISU. Made good decisions, had an accurate arm and rarely made boneheaded mistakes. Good for him.
