The poise of this group continues to impress. They had defensive breakdowns but didn’t hang their heads and kept with their game plan, night and day from last year.

This game was as expected. Pretty close and ISU pulls away at end (or at least the last 2 min). I'm starting to wonder if Fisher is at all with it. Chucking up a 3 when you are 7 seconds into milking the shot clock with lead is a benchable offense. Small sample size but he has had a highlight reel of bonehead moments thus far....

Anywho, go birds!
I hope he’s just pressing, since there were a lot of expectations for him coming into the season. On the bright side, many other new faces outperforming expectations.

1. Lots better balanced scoring than last year. More guys can score. Boyd is more than just a “chukker”. When open the kid can shoot it. 2. Rey is dramatically improved. 3. Teams the past couple of years would have folded their tent when the opponents made a run on them late in a game. This team thus far is much more poised. 4. Many had us 0/2 at this point. But we beat two good teams. Pleasantly surprised.

These guys play hard. No heads-down pouting, just getting after it.

Rey’s improvement on offense is impressive. He could be a real beast the next couple of years.

Agree. Wondered how ISU would replace Fayne’s interior offensive presence. The Chief has stepped up.

Great win. I already like this team more than last year's. I really like their defense and effort.

I like every team in the history of ISU basketball better than last year's.

Nice win against a good team. Wasn't expecting a well oiled machine out of the gate. The poise this team shows is much better than any recent collection of players. This could be a fun season.

I'll be back in town again for this game, so if we lose this time I'll take the blame.
Good news, we didn't lose so I can keep coming to the games.

My other thoughts:

--Good composure despite giving up the lead. The last few year teams would have completely collapsed. This year's team didn't and that is really promising.

--Rey really stepped up on both ends of the floor. He is going to be a force for the next 3 years.

--It's really nice to have a PG again. Any time Ricky we controlled the game. When he came off we struggled. Horne has a good guy to learn from.

--I love having Zach playing off the ball. He looks 100% more confident and comfortable in the 2G spot, and we are seeing the benefit.

--Hillsman is going to be our sneaky secret weapon through the year I think.

--The freshman had a very freshman game, but it's ok.

--It's nice to have depth again. Without it we lose this game.

--I'll fully admit I didn't see us 2-0, but I'm really happy we are.

Was nice to see Hillsman demand the ball when it came time to protect the game at the line. Good to have a go to guy for that roll

Reeves is the best/smartest guy on this team. He should play more. Boyd is just a chucker
Boyd is arguably the most athletic player on the floor...?
That comment has 0 to do with athleticism and more to do with horrible shot selection which I saw way too many times. I see how he avg 10 points a game but only shot 30% in his freshman year.

Reeves does a nice job of taking quality shots and not forcing that is why I’m much more fond of him.

Glad to be 2-0, that is where they should be based on the schedule. Ucf is also down so that should be another W. Then the real test v Cincy

Yes, another nice win!!! Rey playing with more confidence and becoming a good interior player - will need to bring that to a road game.

I like the contribution of Boyd and Hillsman - and would totally agree Copeland is playing more relaxed and scoring!!!!!

Not for sure what Fisher gives up on offense - other than virtually every time he touched ball, it was either a bad shot or turnover, not to mention his free throws.

Thanks, it felt wrong to watch a home game from a hotel room. I would have hated to have watched any others from anywhere but the arena.

Nicely done, Birds! Two games in, already have had more enjoyment watching this team than the entirety of last season. Go figure.

Love, love, love the intensity and effort. This could be an exciting season in a Valley that is anyone's for the taking. There were a few things I didn't like, but let's keep it positive and keep rolling. Shout out to Copeland, as a 2 he is so much more effective. Too bad he was forced to be the 1 last year. Rey is demonstrably improved with his footwork and touch. Torres as a PG brings a calming influence. Deep bench, anyone can light it up at any time. Looking forward to the rest of the season. While there may be bumps, I am definitely encouraged. Go Birds!!!

His freshman year was in 2017. It is 2019. Watch how he runs up and down the floor, goes up for boards, cuts and swings the ball. At least he is confident with his game and not a complete scrub ala Hein. Boyd has more to offer than a “chucker”. A “chucker” was Justin McCloud.

Team ball like we haven't seen for quite a few years. Almost like Loyola played the year they went to the final four.

Not going down the floor and chucking one up with 22 seconds left on the shot clock.

Boyd made a couple of big shots. I'm not afraid to see most of our guys take a shot.
