Has the Birds picked 8th. Thanks, Muller

This season has a 5th or 6th place finish with a 1st round exit at Arch Madness and Dan declaring they over achieved because the expectations were so low.

Wow, 8th. I'll definitely take the over on that. I'm thinking a 4th place finish, with a second round exit. This year's team has so many unknown players it's kinda hard to predict. There's a chance we could be good, but Boyd and Fisher really have to major scorers. With Copeland, who knows if he can get it going.

I expect the league to be much improved. With that assumption and the loss of experience I think 5th to 8th Place is a very rational prediction. There's reasons to think we will catch the league by surprise and finish much higher.

Looks like a Thursday night squad to me. Hope I’m wrong.

That would be overly optimistic as the chances of ISU coming in first or second seems very remote

Street and Smith has ISU 8th as well. I fully expect Muller to pick us 1st.

we were 7th last year. 8th seems awfully generous.

Think about this. Muller is picked 8th preseason in a 1-bid league in what....his 8th season?

I’m almost starting to think the Valley has fallen so far off the map that ISU doesn’t think it could get someone better.

10 years ago they would be picked and finish 10th with this team. The league is bad enough now that they could still finish in the top half despite being a 15 or 16 seed type team if they made the NCAA Tournament. I think the MVC will be better this year with Missouri State, UNI, Bradley, and Loyola being decent. However, it will be a 1 bid league unless Mo State has a great non-conference. No one else has a non-conference schedule that even gives them a chance.

I was checking out all the "big" non-conference games around the Valley and Bradley plays Memphis, Northwestern, Kansas St. or Pittsburgh depending on wins and losses in the tournament., along with some other decent names in the non-conference. If Bradley were to somehow beat Memphis, Northwestern, and Kansas St. as well as being a top 3 team in the Valley why couldn't they get an out large bid?? I know its a big ask for them to beat all three of those teams.... but I think they could they should be at-least on the at large bubble.

They have to beat Northwestern. Losing to them and playing Pitt would end any chance. Toledo could be another decent game.

Bradley's problem is going to be these games (2019 NET Ratings):

St. Joes - 171
IUPUI - 197
Norfolk St. 247
Radford - 137
NC A&T 293
GA. Southern - 127
Maimi (OH) - 148
Maryville D2

Some awful non-conference games that will kill them. One loss to any of those teams and they are finished.
