Malcom Miller with a corner 3. They might need him as a catch and shoot guy.

Tired legs are making scoring more challenging. Malcolm Miller burning the net though. Legit spot up shooter.

Reeves can really shoot it, too.

I think it's 71-50 headed into the fourth. No Matt Chastain to this point, which I'm okay with. Avoid injury at all cost with that kid.

Help me understand tired legs? Have guys been on the floor too much today? I thought muller was rotating in a lot of guys.

LOL a bunch of "adults" afraid of opinions on a basketball message board.
No one is afraid of opinions. The same bitching about every little thing and finding fault is tiresome. Every thread that has even a hint of anything positive is immediately poo-pooed by the peanut gallery.

I find the video of Dedric on the bicycle heartwarming and I am thrilled these players get to experience this.

Chas played in the first half.

One takeaway from seeing them live vs another team is that Donnelly could be a legit option off the bench as a PG with Ricky and DJ.

Lots of off-season talk on this board about Rey being a Valley beast this season. How is he looking?

I love Matt Chastain but may not even start this year. Are you saying an injury to him is like losing a quarterback and not to play him like most NFL Teams avoid in the preseason? I dont think Dan should coach scared? Maybe I am missing something but Matt could get hurt easier in practice than he could a game or no? Let's not treat him like Brady or Rodgers. Don't you think Matt deserves to play as much as others and experience Italy?

The foe thing has worked wonders for me. I still open up their posts on occasion just to see if they're adding any value, and their posts confirm the board's "editor" is doing great work by eliminating their posts. It's also proven to me that regardless of what one writes they will try to find a way to say you're wrong.

I’ve essentially hit the foe button for everyone by hardly ever posting. You’re welcome, everyone.

A lot of negativity here, for some reason, given a 3-0 international road trip. Of course, I forgot where I was posting this for a second.

Hey this was great to watch.
I'm very excited that we have a big man in Abdou that has the ability to play the 1 in a 1-2-2 press. Not saying i like to see that happen all the time, just impressive. It was nice to see so many people play. I think guys like Donnelly or Sissoko wouldn't get much exposure to the fan base without these opportunities. I have some hope for Donnelly, certainly capable.
It was all for fun, I think the guys had a really good time and may have learned a lot about each other. That will go a long way.

Ditto. I like to see the building blocks of our franchise getting the chance to play. Such a special experience for these guys to make the trip and get some playing time to boot. I'm not holding out a lot of hope for Donnelly but I expect the dunk master Sissoko to break a few backboards in the next 4 years !

Muller's recap. He provides some really nice perspective around the 10 min mark about "coaching effort."

  • Muller anticipates a couple guys redshirting. My guess would be Sissoko and Miller.
  • Overall, the team shot 40% from the new 3 pt line, said the biggest adjustment is the space between the 3pt line and out of bounds.
  • DB, Cope, and Horne were mentioned as guys who shot the ball well
  • Mission accomplished per Muller- the guys bonded over the shared expierence and on the court, the players got better every game, and showed maturity. Muller's mentioned a couple of times how this team has the ability to fix mistakes without having to be on the court. Meaning, he can give instruction and he doesn't have to wait until the next practice to implement whatever change/fix
  • The players developed a confidence in what the coaches are trying to do and the system, which increases buy-in.
  • Taylor didn't play, but in the next few weeks, they will begin to ramp up his activity. 6 months this week from surgery, and he'll slowly get to full practices. With still 78 days until game day, there is no significant rush to get him back. (my thought)
  • Ricky turned his ankle during the last practice so he was limited the last game. We have not seen the best of Ricky because of the injuries throughout the summer. "He's a point guard."
  • Weights start next week. No pickup or significant cardio this week to rest their bodies. Basketball activities will resume in two weeks.
  • First official day of practice is Wednesday, September 25, 6 weeks before the first game.
  • As predicted, Northern Kentucky and UT- San Antonio are H/H starting away.
  • Buy game against TCU: They were one of the first teams to say yes and there are direct flights to there, making for an easy trip.
  • Muller is really excited about the new seats to enhance fan experience, and comfort, but also that it will look better on TV for recruiting purposes.
