Confirmed today - there will be Anheuser-Busch products for sale at Hancock Stadium and Redbird Arena starting in the Fall.

Do not look for a Big announcement - A-B distributor was not happy with how the Illini announced it. They want it down played - announce it to season ticket holders, alumni, and WSF members - do not want Big "Splash" announcements.

Should serve in cans for ease of dispensing and less spillage to clean up.

I already attend all home FB games but a can of beer could entice me to attend a baseball game. Those two kind of go together.

Yeah, a cold beer during a November slushy match-up with the Bison or Jackrabbits, and the west wind blowing across the plains, uhh, not so much!! ;)

Now, a little schnapps to go with the hot chocolate, or some bourbon and apple cider, now we're getting somewhere!

Sounds like the south end zone in the pre-security era. ;)

Now that was a great time in Redbird fball history. Root beer schnapps was our drink of choice once we ran out of beer at the apartment and made our way into Hancock. We weren't very good back then, but few seemed to care. Coach Bob Otolski, I remember correctly. One infamous play was after we fielded a punt at the one yard line, the Redbird stepped back into the end zone and took a knee for a safety. After the game he stated, "if I didn't know better I'd swear this team was trying to throw the game."

Also, if I remember correctly, there was discussion on campus about the possibility of moving up or dropping fball all together. It was explained to me, as student body president at the time, that fball was pretty much a break even sport and that moving up would be too costly. Some Hovey Hall types wanted fball yanked and I'm very happy they didn't win the debate. Woulda, coulda, shoulda, didn't.
