Before his last entry into the game, Milik had played 18 minutes. In 18 minutes:
2 points
1-7 shooting
2 rebounds
FIVE TURNOVERS!!!
That is why he was sitting. Don’t need Dick to ask him why!

About what I expected. Pretty typical road effort for this group. Just a slightly below average team in a slightly worse than atrocious league.

Poorly coached. Weak minded. Very soft team and program. A loss Saturday would be sobering for many.

At this point the players are likely counting down the days to the end of the season. One and done in St Louis.

I highly doubt anyone on the team is having any fun.

This comment is another reason why he needs to be asked. “fans” think they can get all the answers from reading a stat line.

Rumor is that the other Valley coaches are in the middle of putting together a GoFundMe to extend Dan’s contract.

When on the road to sweet Archy,
Hurroo Hurroo
When on the road to sweet Archy
Hurroo Hurroo
When on the road to sweet Archy
A stick in the hand, A drop in the eye
A doleful damsel I heard cry
Dannyboy I hardly knew ya

Where are the eyes that looked so mild,
Hurroo Hurroo
Where are the eyes that looked so mild,
Hurroo Hurroo
Where are the eyes that looked so mild
When my poor heart you first beguiled
Why did ya run from me and the child
Dannyboy I hardly knew ya

We had athletes and no defense, no defense and athletes,
Hurroo Hurroo
We had athletes and no defense and no defense and athletes
Hurroo Hurroo
We had athletes and no defense and no defense and athletes
The enemy always slew ya
Dannyboy I hardly knew ya

Copeland was 1-7 from 3. I thought he was suppose to be a great shooter?

Not just reading stat lines, I’m watching him play. I don’t need Dan to explain to me why he sits him.

A loss Saturday and we are Thursday night club. BU and Valpo will have the tie breaker on us.

This team may not be the worst ISU team in the last 40 years, but it certainly is #1 in pathetically underachieving. Players, coach, everyone.

I can’t go Saturday for my own health reasons as I will puke myself to death if we lose to Bu at home. I am seriously not going as the fun is out of it for me and I never miss this game.

If only they served alcohol in the stadium! It would be a better game with beer goggles.

No excuses for Malik. They did do a good job of doubling him.

Expectations will be lower. It’s the underachieving that is most annoying to me.

I'm not sure this will be true. I know we lose a lot on paper right now, but we have so many unknowns for next year it is tough to say how it will go. I haven't seen any of the guys sitting out (save for Bruninga) play, but my guess is at worst we will be like this year's team.

My other thoughts from the brutal game last night:

-- We don't cover the 3 at all defensively. We haven't from the start of the year. I said it after the Auggie game, teams that shoot the 3 well will kill us. We get more and more exposed defensively at guard every game.

--We looked defeated when we came out of halftime, like the game was already over. I have to say the last few games have been some of the worst I've seen from a drive level out of a redbird team since I've been watching them.

--Yarbs imploded on himself early, and when he does that he will never pull himself out of the nose dive. He was a detriment to himself and the team, I wasn't surprised he sat as much as he did.

--Nice to see Ike get more comfortable offensively. I think the more comfortable he gets the more he will help us spread the floor when we utilize him.

--I'd like to see Chastain get more aggressive offensively, going to the basket or shooting a pull up jumper. I don't know if it is just him, or a product of how our offense plays but I feel like we under utilize him on one end of the floor.

:text-+1: on Chastain.

Thought he was going to be more aggressive offensively when he hit that early 3, then essentially nothing. He does a lot of other things, but the minutes he’s getting need to produce more than 3 ppg IMO.

Haven’t been to an ISU game in over a year. That won’t change anytime soon. Didn’t watch game. It’s more entertaining to watch people still get upset here.

Yarbrough isn’t getting better. He is the exact same player as last year. Mentally, physically, skill-wise and turnover wise. He is a below average defender. When things don’t go his way he acts like a child. He is not a leader at all and yet the team depends on him for this. He is one step away from being Zach Lofton.

Fayne is a little better, but not enough to make a difference, especially against the better teams.

Evans is way worse.

Tinsley is way worse and can barely get in the court.

Copeland isn’t as good as Muller made him out to be.

Jefferson doesn’t work so he doesn’t play (when healthy).

Chastain is a bench role player forced into the starting lineup because Tinsley stinks.

The team is what it is. Average in a bad league.

Coaches like Jacobsen will bring out the worst in MY. 3G at WSU was the
same. They know the weak spots and expose you. Jake knows how to frustrate
MY. Remember how WSU would take it right at Phil - boom, foul trouble and we're out of
the game.

We're a very avg team. Many of us bought into this team having special offensive skills. The
Defensive skills are offensive so I'll give Dan credit but he had it mixed up a tad.

I've never bought into firing a Coach and all that drama - never except maybe Richardson when we had
Plank as a PG. Anyway - the best solution may be for Dan to realize the concerns, his own misgivings and
take another position closer to his wife's hometown.....wherever that may be. Or hire a brand new staff, start over
and look for Defensive specialists as he recruits.

Can anyone believe he didn't have those kids better prepared for the 3? Anyone who watched UNI knew it was the
only thing they could do. Our players are counting the days till the season ends.
