Need some ballhandlers and some playmakers beyond Malik. If Copeland and Jefferson add that dynamic to the team I don’t see how other Valley teams could stop us.

Defensively still a lot to prove. We were carved up by Dunk City, BYU and Ole Miss last year. If the on-ball defense isn’t much better on the perimeter then there will be a lot more pressure on offense.
Yep

Great point on the D. Memory serves we never really shut anybody down last year. OK, but nothing
like the sr. year of Paris/Tony and the boys.

Of course there were many times we had a guy or 2 getting blown by on the perimeter and we mumbled something like they
shouldn't B on the floor. Wait....they were the best we had - and they tried.

I'm not sure I would call a guy who had 800 turnovers when penetrating the lane a ball handler.

Saw Milik yesterday at the soccer game. He's so slim I really thought it was one of our new players. Hope he doesn't pushed around in the paint this year. Also saw Abdou Ndiaye. He was juggling a kids soccer ball with his feet. The ball was no bigger than a baseball and he made it look easy. It's obvious he played some soccer in his youth. So I don't think he'll have any problem with his footwork.

MY is looking at the pros. If he is going to be a pro, he isn't going to do it in the paint. He and, im sure, his camp are looking to turn him into a 2-3 guard/wing and are getting him to a size that works with that. Expect him to be playing the role of a much more traditional guard than a forward. This will make it incredibly hard on opposing players, though, because you have to match that. If ISU is playing Evans, Copeland, Tinsley, MY and Phil, they are going to have a forward WAY out of position in any M2M defense, which will leave Evans and Copeland wide open lanes to the hole.

If they switch to a zone, you have to hope that 1 of those 4 guys cant shoot the deep ball- we know all 4 can.

You forgot and. Scary and good. Not necessarily at the same time.

I think we will be good. I will also be scared every time we are ahead in the second half and Milik is playing point forward or whatever position he plays when he handles the ball.
