Campos took a lot of visits (Illinois, North Dakota, Eastern Michigan, Miami of Ohio, and Cincy. Purdue also showed interest.). His recruiting process was quick. We offered on Sept 2 and he committed last night. His only other offer I found was from Minnesota State.

Baltz held offers from EIU, WIU, Butler, and Georgetown. He had interest or visited NDSU, Western Michigan, Youngstown State, The Citadel, Miami OH, Davidson, and UAB. He's gone to camps all of the country. A lot of money has been put into his football career.

Just saw the add of the kid from Stevens Point, WI, Jack Kelly. Sounds like a good get, here's an article with some good stuff. Gotta read all the way through, lots of ads breaking up the text.

From Stevens Point Area High School - known as "SPASH"! Probably also the HS of DC Niekamp.

Our recruit from Madison, Jeremiah Jordan, who's listed as a LB and also was on the recruiting sites earlier, was named first team All Big Eight Conference as a DB (listed at 6'2 205 lbs.). So not sure if he's already made the move to DB or if he'll put on some lbs. and stay at LB for Spack, or what.

But in any event, nice to see he made all conference.

I predict he plays LB'er and adds weight. We want players that are fast for the position they play.

That's about the size of former Bird linebacker and now linebackers coach Kye Stewart.

Geez, another Wisconsin guy, wonder if Coach Niekamp still has some Wisconsin ties going?

Sounds like he could plug in at several spots for us.

Another article on Wedig. He was recruited by other MVFC schools.

Good news (and "bad news") from the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association all-state team announcement:

For our Wisconsin commits, good news:

DE/LB Matthew Wedig, 6'4 220lb, from Beloit Memorial was named first team all state by the coaches association as a DE.

LB Jeremiah Jordan, 6'2 205 lb, from Madison Memorial was named honorable mention as a DB.

H Jack Kelly, 6'2 232 lb, from Stevens Point Area HS was named honorable mention as a DE.

They didn't name 2nd team/3rd team, so honorable mention is the only recognition after first-team. All three are on the "large school" team.

The "bad news" ;) :

Wisconsin Defensive Player of the Year is Waunakee HS DE Reed Ryan, a BISON recruit!! :snooty:

Champaign News-Gazette published its annual All-State selections Thursday; ISU recruit Balz from Lincoln-Way was one of five QBs listed, and two of the Five were from schools of Class 3A or 2A competition levels.
