Re: @ Evansville 1/19/19

We've been awful on the road. A couple near-wins don't count. Can we go in there and take one? Yes. Will we? Maybe, maybe not. I'll say:

Aces 67
Redbirds 63

But could easily be the other way around too.

I remember the days when this was one of the highest attended/hyped games each season. Used to be a strong, heated rivalry. Things are surely different now. But oh well. We are so disgustingly inconsistent not just game to game but possession to possession it’s almost comical.

Re: Redbird Arena floor

I'm old school in a lot of ways, so I despise the flashy/artsy floor/field crap. Boise State gets a pass with their football field (and to a lesser extent, Eastern Washington too I guess), but these hoops floors are ridiculous. TCU, Oregon, even UIC...all look silly to me. Keep a basketball court lo...

Re: Three games in...

Key's foul was right out of the Mikyle McIntosh tutorial. And in about the same exact spot on the floor  It's only three games but this has been one of the most random starts to an MVC season in recent memory. In fact, it's been like that for everyone's non-con too. Not trying to soften up ou...

Re: vs UNI 1/8/19, 7 pm, NBC Chicago

Was definitely a concern that they came back twice from 10 point deficits in the 2nd half. Credit to them for hitting some big shots, but it we just couldn't quite get the kill shot that we needed like we had vs. UE. Still, a win is a win. Chastain & Yarbs were outstanding. D was really good again f...

Re: vs UNI 1/7/19, 7 pm, NBC Chicago

Always tough against these guys, but we need to defend the home court. Really nice response against UE after the implosion at Valpo. Are these last two games enough to instill a new defensive mindset? I sure hope so. It only took 15 games, but it was great to FINALLY see the team locked in for 40 mi...

Re: ISU vs Evansville, 1/5/19

Ever since we DIDN'T do so against Chicago State and Cleveland State (or hell, even Lindenwood), I've wondered what hammering someone by 20 in a nice, steady, cruise control type game would do for this team. Instead of being on the other end of such a game (thanks UIC), if we just whipped someone go...

Re: Fire Larry Lyons

Start winning, make a commitment to KEEP winning, set short and long-term goals, and prove to the fans and supporters that the AD have dedicated themselves to succeeding. The University itself has done so (and we should all be proud of that as alums/students), and the AD should as well. Both can be ...

Re: ISU vs Evansville, 1/5/19

14 games in. I keep waiting for something to click with this team. Thought MAYBE it was happening at Valpo with a double-digit second half lead, and that we might finally have a put-away victory instead of having to scrape, claw and comeback for it. Not sure if it happens that way or not on Saturday...

Re: @Valpo 1/2/19 7pm

Ironic that the best defensive effort we give all season results in a loss like that. Also a little karmic that they beat us on a half courter that gets on the SC Top 10, after Maddie's dunk on their guy did the same thing last year. But what really burns is the fact that we blew two double digit se...

Re: Yesteryear

So awesome. Man I miss the days when we would draw full, energetic, LOUD AS F*** crowds, and of course actually win big games. I second that. I think back then, the crowd felt like it was their responsibility to make it difficult for the opponent. It was our responsibility to help the team win. At ...

Re: At UCF Friday 6pm

Still feeling a little bitter about the NIT loss to these guys 2 years ago. Should've definitely had that one. But I digress.

Last chance for a big win and one that would certainly give a jolt of confidence heading into Valley play. Hope to catch them napping, but I don't expect that.

Re: MVC Most Disappointing Team?

Conference predictions could still hold true, although every year there's always proof that predictions are just that, and don't always wind up that way. It's definitely been a disappointing non-con for more teams than just us. Everyone out there is going to give Loyola their best effort and other t...

Re: Sunday?

It's not even only about the Bears. Plenty of fans around here of other teams too, and just the NFL in general. Most folks just want to lounge on the couch (or the bar) and watch football all day. I've always thought it's not a good idea to schedule games on Sundays for that reason unless absolutely...
