Re: Coaching Candidates

Who cares about stability??? DeVries walked right in and won the MVC. Give me a guy that can coach like him over Muller, who if you look at his numbers has gotten worse as a coach (see Ken Pom offense and defensive efficiency numbers). The same Devries that Dan beat twice thus year? Sent from my SA...

Re: Coaching Candidates

I agree with you in terms of stability but what has the last seven years got us? How many years of more stability can we endure? We have four seniors playing on Thursday in the 17th best conference with a very, very slim chance of seeing Sunday. Can we do it this year, this conference...hell yeah! ...

Re: Coaching Candidates

Idk if it is or not. Isu imo needs stability. Yes it's pointing up in Champaign but imo what Dan makes isn't that bad when Missouri State bought out Dana Ford for $190,000 and is paying him $375,000 on top of that. That's $565,000 total. To me what Dan makes is going rate for College athletics espe...

Re: Coaching Candidates

Dave, I believe you missed my point. The original poster asked if Dan would step down. The amount being paid is inconsequential other than where else would Dan get paid $600,000 right now? I replied that he would not step down. Won’t happen. I am in no way, shape or form an Illinoy fan but the arro...

Re: Coaching Candidates

This will never, ever happen. I’ll give you 600,000 reasons why. And Brad Underwood is making $2.76 million at Illinois, Gregg Marshall $3.04 million, Huggins is over $3 million, Archie Miller and Chris Holtman are both making over $3 million. In today's college basketball landscape $600,000 is not...

Re: Coaching Candidates

I cannot take any thread serious when someone compares Dan Muller to Gregg, Underwood, Archie, Holtman, Huggins etc. Not on the same level - An interesting comparison would be to find NCAA coaches who have NEVER been to the NCAA and compare salaries. I am just guessing Dan is near the top of that l...

Re: Coaching Candidates

Now we are in pissing matches about donations? Is someone fresh out of college in maybe a teaching position that doesn’t pay great at the start less of a fan because they don’t have the income to donate? Maybe they moved back to Chicago and can’t make games regularly. Screw that person. Who gives a...

Re: Coaching Candidates

Sure Underwood has sucked at Illinois, but you do realize everyone of those coaches went to multiple NCAA Tournaments before they got those salaries? Obviously yes I do. Just pointing out its pointless to talk about coaches salary. Unless you donate or go to games then it shouldn't bother you what ...

Re: Coaching Candidates

I would argue that some of those names have easily produced a positive return on investment. Probably an unrealistic goal at ISU. That's true but Underwood has produced a positive return at Illinois? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk He will in 3 or 4 years or he will be gone. I would sa...

Re: vs Bradley, 3 pm, ESPN2

White outs common in college basketball. I went to a Wisconsin game earlier this year at the Kohl center and it was a white out game. The players in same game were wearing red warm up shirts with big black letters "BHM" on the front...acknowledging Back History Month. Shit happens everywhere. Someo...

Re: vs Valparaiso, 2/5, 7:00 PM, ESPN+

Imo the problem with this team is fans hear analysis say on tv imo "illinois state is the most talented team in the mvc." We might be but just bc you're talented doesn't go into winning. This team lacks leadership, I've been saying it all year. Phil and Key were on the team from 2 years ago. They s...

Re: @Bradley 1/23

Have we ever played Bradley in Peoria on a Saturday or Sunday? It seems we’ve played them on a Wednesday night fr the past 3 decades. One of the interesting points from the coaches show last night was Dan talked about the Wednesday night games at BU and how he handles them compared to former coache...

Re: Josh Jefferson

Jefferson is not good on D. And he hasn't been hitting his shots. Those two things can kill confidence. And a lack of confidence can bleed into poor practices (just ask Boogie). He's got to buy in or he's not going to see the floor much. I noticed he didn't even take his warm ups off (at least in t...

Re: Sunday?

I'll go to the basketball game, turn my phone off and dvr the bears game. I'll watch the bears game later but it begs the question why would you schedule a basketball game on a Sunday when the bears play the Packers? Not the smartest thing to do and it really hurts now since the basketball team has ...
