Re: College Basketball Coaching Carousel

I'm really surprised Moser got an offer from SJU. I was going to post how there was no way he'd be a serious candidate, and didn't get around to posting it, so what do I know? Will confess now. Moser has been a head coach 15 years, including UALR, ISU and LU. He's been to the postseason 3 times in t...

Re: Derrick Cook juco PG

I'm all for a diamond in the rough, but I don't see where this guy is a PG. Isn't he gonna be in the Copeland mode as a true wing that Muller's gonna try to "make" into a PG? We've heard that song before . . . .

Re: Nice Rebound

Hard to say if Coach Durkac and the former staff could have taken this group to their current record if they'd been kept on, but hard to argue with success. Coach Holm is earning his keep so far!!

Re: Beer Sales

I already attend all home FB games but a can of beer could entice me to attend a baseball game. Those two kind of go together. Yeah, a cold beer during a November slushy match-up with the Bison or Jackrabbits, and the west wind blowing across the plains, uhh, not so much!! ;) Now, a little schnapps...

Re: Open Dates Posted

Don't necessarily want to turn this into a thread on the EIU game, but . . . I have generally been in favor of keeping the game, most years it seems like a good match-up, saves both teams on some travel dollars, allows fans to hit the road, etc. Here's a good page from Wiki with all the scores. We'v...

Re: OT: Beer

We had a guy move in with us who'd gone to Western, and he turned us onto Leinenkugel, which he drank over in Macomb. Went for around $2-3 a case if I recall. Anytime we'd go to Wisconsin, to a race at Road America or camping, you'd carry back a few cases of Point. Good stuff!! ;) And then also Old ...

I'm not really pushing for a bubble, better than nothing I spose, but here's a video link to what a D3 bubble looks like for spring practice up in the Tundra:

Let the "churn" begin. If it was a city league team, it could be named "Dan's One and Dones"!!

Re: OT: Former Players

I watched one game for a while after Coprich signed (never did see him play) and I just don't see many people being that interested in "minor league" football. Gotta believe hiring all those "name" coaches cost a few bucks and it just wasn't sustainable.

Re: OT: Beer

Geez, I like beer as much as the next guy, but people can't get by a couple hours w/o a beer? Really? I tailgate before the football game, hit the bar before a basketball game, enjoy some refreshments, then go the game. No big deal I can't have one more. Hard for me to believe it will bring in very ...

Good report on RB Proctor in the Pantagraph today, got lots of work in yesterday's scrimmage. Hopefully it pays off.

Thanks for posting that, I was not aware of that site and will bookmark it for future reference.

Mr. Verdun's book on ISU football is a good read for all, it's a couple years old now but worth tracking down.

Re: Davis Gets Another Year

It's interesting to see some say they weren't too impressed with Davis last season, and I am with you. It is important to remember, he was runner up for MVFC Newcomer of the Year. I think we have very high standards as a fan base and want to reminisce on the Roberson years. That's cool though, I th...

Think Miles is the winningest Nebraska Coach. Not close, if this chart is correct: https://www.coachesdatabase.com/nebraska-cornhuskers-basketball/ Tim Miles 2012-19 116-114 0 1 0 Doc Sadler 2006-12 101-89 0 0 0 Barry Collier 2000-06 89-91 0 0 0 Danny Nee 1986-2000 254-196 0 5 0 Moe Iba 1980-86 106...

Re: College Basketball Coaching Carousel

https://mobile.twitter.com/BracketGurus/status/1110714578936233984 You'd sure think Nebraska would want to do better than a guy who's 18 games under .500 at BU and only slightly better than .500 over his career (.522). Miles is/was .544 for his career. Hoiberg is the "better" rumor for the Husker j...

Okay, been kinda quiet here for a few days. Yesterday's Pantagraph had an article about spring practice, and maybe most important, another assistant coach moving on. https://www.pantagraph.com/sports/college/football/washington-adapting-well-to-new-role-for-redbirds/article_b885909e-9467-5d68-99a0-a...

I could see Bryce going back to Valpo. They are in shambles right now.

Muller to Vandy - Yaklich to ISU
I'd say the chances of Yak going to Vandy are greater than Muller going there. I've gotta believe they're going to shoot higher than Muller (and probably higher than Yak for that matter).

can we not keep a single thread even remotely on topic?
No, not if the pissers and moaners can find a way to rip ISU, Lyons, Elgin, the MVC, the people who don't piss and moan, etc. etc. in the thread.
