Re: vs Bradley, 3 pm, ESPN2

So. Went to the Panty web site. Looking for ISU game story on our beloved opponent. Only the biggest rivalry in ISU history, so not a big deal I suppose. Nothing. Nada. Zip. Zorro'd. Did I miss something? Is it in the paper edition? Jim? Randy? Mr. Flick'ers? Hulka? Anybody? They're all good qualit...

Re: At Missouri State

I don't know if I'd say I'm "following" women's hoops now, but I'm at least "paying attention". So, take this with a grain of salt, BUT . . . . This seems like sort of a "signature" win - a turning of the corner on the "old bad days" and a signal that better days are coming, or really are here alrea...

Red Panda Sighting

On a lighter note, Red Panda was the half-time show at the Michigan St. - Wisconsin game last night in Madison. Always unbelievable.

Re: Two Deep Offense

Well, I'm totally refreshed from the RB U. kool aid, no argument from me there, altho for the most part (except for J Rob) we haven't seen any on field performance, BUT . . . there ain't gonna be no RB U. w/o some OL U., so we better get that straightened out ASAP. The transfer from UIUC didn't real...

We better get this lead up by at least 5 pretty quick. I know many don't trust our finishes, but I don't trust a game with Pollard and Jansen.
:text-+1:

Was just thinking the same. We'll get no edge on any close ones, that's for sure.

Re: Former Redbirds...

A very nice article on Yaklich and Dean Oliver from this morning's Madison paper, who will be facing each other this morning in UW vs. Mich (geez, better get to the TV, they're already starting). Nice quotes from Coach Dan and good stuff on both assistants. https://madison.com/wsj/sports/college/bas...

Re: Roster changes

This has been as bad an offseason as Spack has had. It's easy to act like the fox with sour grapes....but we lost some good, talented players, including a potential star in Willie Edwards. Broadnax was also about as athletic and talented an athlete as we've had on the roster in the past 5 or 6 year...

Re: BETTER

Well, I've always wished for getting the Illinois boys, but I'm gonna set that aside for now, this looks like a pretty impressive class. Wonder if our new coaching staff has anything to do with the more national recruiting - more ties farther away from home??

Re: The List so far 2019

Signing day is Wednesday. Today's not a good day for any of us to do any "research", assuming most will be tied up with the game (I'm just getting ready to go cook up the sauce for the wings now) but I'm wondering if we're "done", I mean, given all the commits we have gotten in the last few weeks, i...

Re: Roster changes

Whenever you change a defense there is transition. Some guys just don't fit. Spack went from a 4-3 to a 3-4 last year. And I think he did it last year because he knew the team was a year away. So here's the deal on Harris. IMO Harris is a 4-3 DE. He is a 9 technique get up the field DE. He was play...

Re: What Happen?

Been kinda meh this year, not really good enough to get real excited but good enough to not really complain. So not much posts. I always said in the past, I know nothing about the women's team other than what I read on this board, so never commented much. I know a little more since Coach G came abo...

Re: Bruninga to Redshirt

Idowu - I thought he has looked pretty decent for a freshman. I can see him deserving a lot of PT next year. Hell, this year for that matter.

Hard to know how many will stay or leave by next year . . . . :?

Re: Roster changes

Wow. Not sure of the right words - depressing, sad, confusing, whatever. Have always believed Spack could hold them together better than that.

Bad vibes with the new D staff??

Re: Oklahoma State

“Oklahoma State's Recent Round Of Suspensions Forces Program To Fill Roster Spots With Walk-On Tryouts” Not a bad idea... We already have a walk-on who's started for us, Gassman. Put him out there! What about Himmelman from Football team? 6'10, solid player for Geneseo in HS, at least one DI schola...

Both Kane and Hammock have pretty extensive resumes, and time with NIU. Hammock played there too.

Vince Okruch on that list as a TE coach. I knew him at NU. He's been everywhere. Tough life as a college assistant. 35 years bouncing around.
Coach Okruch from his Rutgers bio. Grizzled veteran?? :(

Re: Former Redbirds...

From this morning's Minneapolis Star-Tribune: • Former Gophers forward Reggie Lynch is playing professionally for BC Kalev in Latvia. Lynch is averaging 11.9 points and 5.5 rebounds per game. I know some of us would rather not think of him as a former Redbird, including me at times, but it's interes...
