Re: WOAH!

Yup. Plus, its a good football program. In saying that, we should slosh 'em and we'll all be pizzed if we don't. But if we come in with a sorry attitude, they could throw snake eyes and next thing ya know we miss the playoffs. Certainly not excited about playing them, but all those in red and white...

Re: WOAH!

These guys on the other sideline are smaller and there are less of them, but they are legit football players. Yup. Plus, its a good football program. Re: WOAH!

Just throwing this out there. Every time any institution has to change it's standard operating procedure, there is organizational resistance. It occurs to me that ISU football has never really scheduled to maximize playoff chances. Financial constraints drove it, and always had. A new mindset is nee...

At least playing at NAU and home vs them gives us a quality non-con opponent each year of the deal.
This has always been my problem with St. Xavier. We could have replaced it with a quality H&H and it balances out over time when we get the return game.

Re: Game Times Announced

Agreed w everything you said, 4th. It sounds like you believe we should have been able to get an FCS cupcake here for a buy game. Probably true. Regardless of that, there were folks here on the board that found FCS schools w 2018 home dates that fit our schedule and wanted either a pay game or H&H. ...

Re: Street and Smith and Athlon

I recall someone asking Lyons about it but he gave some answer like "Scheduling is hard and there were no games left." And they let it go knowing that wasn't true? I'm pretty sure it was Lyons on WJBC in one of his monthly interviews with Scott Laughlin. Scott doesn't follow the stuff super close s...

Re: Street and Smith and Athlon

I’m gonna plant this here. https://athlonsports.com/college-football/projected-fcs-playoff-qualifiers-2018 so frustrating. seriously need to beat them by 50 It should be a minimum of 8 TDs or more. If you're going to schedule an absolute joke of a game, you are going to have expectations you win th...

Re: WOAH!

It looks to me like the QB job at Memphis is wide open. Sounds like this kid had a heart-to-heart conversation about his place in the pool of candidates. You never know what's gonna happen , but there's no way Davis was brought in with out Beathard's buy-in that it was worth the gamble. We really ha...

Nothing on goredbirds yet, but Miller went early in third round - 84th overall - to San Diego, slot value $694K.

There is a long discussion about the pros and cons of a move to D-II on their fan forum if you have some time to kill.

Was anyone else unaware that they actually splice the numbers, letters, and graphics into the artificial surface? That is what they did, right?

Re: Turf Updates

I was never ashamed of Horton Fieldhouse. It a substandard facility, but it was a pit of the first order. And I loved that we could absolutely rattle other teams into crucial mistakes. That said, I get a gush of pride every time I walk into RA. Donewald - love him or hate him - said it best: There a...

Coverage Strategy - Man, Ball, or Both

4th's comment in the Davontae Harris thread got me thinking, and I didn't want to hijack that thread... p.s. we may want to reassess pass cover strategy and techniques ... Davontae took too much heat on this board at times .. sometimes you have to let them play the man AND the ball ... opposing QBs ...

Re: Turf Updates

so white lettering, but outlined with thick black line .. the contrasts look great. Noted pellets are not yet spread. As per usual, once we finally decide to spend money, we usually do things right .. Hancock 2.0, jumbotron scoreboard, and now turf ... all way overdue, but all done very well. can't...

Re: Turf Updates

I notice the older red paint over there looks a little muted compared to the east side. If we can't build over there to make it sexier, maybe just a few grand on a few gallons of paint? Couldn’t agree more. The banners and flags on the fence at the border between the stands and Horton’s roof were l...

you nailed the red end zones ... so you bagged your quota of good creative ideas for the whole year then ???

If you google images of "red end zones football" .. almost all use white lettering. That is my own preference.

Interesting too, the "saved" Reggie at mid-field appears gone too. Wonder what that was all about?
It would make a unique gift to an anchor donor. I love the endzones. Trying to picture whether white or black lettering would look better. Black, right? Gray?
