Re: At Western Michigan 2021

This game replaced the win over Appalachian St as my favorite Redbird game. It remained my favorite for three weeks

Re: Offensive backfield depth

But if you asked me what I was concerned about for the 2019 season it would be QB play, offensive productivity, receivers who can stretch the field and catch in traffic and the kicking game. Those are the areas the 2018 Redbirds struggled at times. This comment really resonated with me, Virginia. S...

Re: Offensive backfield depth

Only disagreement with TR ... though I have not seen Bryce Jefferson throw yet, other than HS video .... highly doubt his arm is as suspect as Broadnax at FCS level .... if it is, I'm even more concerned with our HS QB recruitment. Dual threat QBs are helpful .... but they have to be able to throw ...

Re: Open Dates Posted

I'm not sure if I've seen this posted elsewhere on the board, but it looks like we'll be seeing one of the newest FCS teams in the country playing the Redbirds at Hancock in 2020. https://fbschedules.com/dixie-state-byu-colorado-state-plus-eight-more-future-schedules/ Dixie State University, locate...

Re: "Indoor Facility ... #1 priority" ... AD Larry Lyons

You know what really bugged me the most about the NAIA St Xavier game last year ?? It wasnt that he scheduled it originally trying to complete the schedule for 2018 with a season opener 6th home game for budget purposes. I didn't like it, but I figure he just needed a placeholder, presumably as the...

Re: "Indoor Facility ... #1 priority" ... AD Larry Lyons

Well...the bubble burst. https://twitter.com/pg_reinhardt/status/1113200223877312512?s=21 This doesn’t sound promising. Also, someone at ISU must be reading the board to have this come out today after this thread. This is just discouraging. "...building options are still being considered and financ...

Re: "Indoor Facility ... #1 priority" ... AD Larry Lyons

Agree a bubble is way better than what we have today and would certainly address the issue adequately. But ISU made a public commitment ... I'll take the bubble if a IPF building is not going to happen within a few years. But the bubble will be a constant reminder that AD Lyons fell short and faile...

Re: "Indoor Facility ... #1 priority" ... AD Larry Lyons

StL I'm pretty pragmatic and really only care about the now. We don't agree on this one but that's Okay. I just don't see 4 walls and a roof going up in the next ten years. Nothing would make me happier than being wrong. But when the athletic dept. pulls down video and doesn't promote something I'v...

Re: "Indoor Facility ... #1 priority" ... AD Larry Lyons

I don't often disagree with Timmy, but ISU has a long history of getting things done once it has decided that it's necessary. They are prudent and I think the consensus in Redbird Nation is that they have marshaled their resources well over the years. Spack - has talked about the importance of an in...

Replays of 2018 Games

Went to goredbirds.com to click the links on the football schedule but those are not live any longer. Espn3 history only goes back a few weeks. Does anyone know if the game broadcasts are archived anywhere?

Re: Two Deep Offense

D-ends in a 3-4 are really interior linemen. They line up from head-up to an outside shade on the offensive tackle. He is normally a C gap player if there is a tight end. But he can reduce down and be a B gap player depending on the call. A 3-4 DE is completely different skill set than a 4-3 DE and...

Re: Two Deep Offense

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, guys. I was looking at the two deep and decided it was time for another stupid question. I hope others get something out of this. What's the difference between the Jack and a DE? I see our two deep lists the defensive line as DE - NG - DT - Jack. Now, I like jargon ...

Re: Words to choke on

Unless you are going to collectively tell them why, you'll be pissing in the wind This is exactly the part of "I want to send them a message" that I do not understand. There's a better, more effective way than boycott. I am not trying to be a smart azz here, but what is a better, more effective way...

Re: Words to choke on

I became an ISU basketball fan my freshman yr at UHigh an awfully long time ago. Thru the 70s, 80s, and 90s I was in the drop-football camp. During the Berry era I attended a few games, but Hancock was such an embarrassment. What an eyesore. Just couldn’t see a way to make football work here Then c...

Re: Barry Hinson out at SIU

Also @V Boy you didn’t answer my question. So not only will SIU probably have an alum as a coach they also have the hero football coach as their AD. We sure have a lot of people that think hiring alumni is a bad idea, but then compare ourselves to schools like SIU that will probably have an alum an...

I doubt ESPN cares about losing my $4.99/mo, but they've wore me out with this message...

"This event has been blacked out in your area"

Not a good move, ISU...
Not ISU's fault. It is on TV which is why it is blacked out from streaming. V
I'll be damned. Thanks 2004
