Re: MVC Transfers

Here’s a novel idea for ISU. End your football program. Put that money toward basketball. Tell Elgin he needs to expand MVC and add Belmont and Murray St or we are out. ....and if you give Doug that ultimatum and he tells you to pound sand, where are you going to go? We'd be a large public universi...

Re: MVC Transfers

When you see good, young players leaving good private universities like Valpo.....which has a pretty solid young head coach.....you know the future for the Missouri Valley Conference is not bright. And we have one person to thank for this. Doug Elgin. Who allowed the college basketball world to mov...

Re: Bracketology

I'll say it again. ... If you're not .500 or better in your own conference, that should be an automatic disqualification from any type of NCAA postseason play. That, and the the regular season conference champ should get the auto-bid. The balance of teams (provided they're .500 or better) can fight...

Re: College Basketball Coaching Carousel

I'd be interested in Billy Kennedy Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk I think a lot of schools will be interested in Billy Kennedy. I have a feeling that A&M will regret the quick trigger and their need to show everyone just how much money they’ve got to spend. They’re about to overspend on someb...

Jerry Palm article from yesterday, shows of P5 schools, 75% of them doing better in NET than RPI. What a shocker!!

Re: Words to choke on

Bottom line, we have already invested too much in football. The only focus now should be getting Spack the “game-changing” indoor facility he so desires but all the while holding him to his promise of bigger and better things; and by “bigger and better things” I’m talking about contending regularly...

Re: Words to choke on

Illinois State cannot improve its revenues/donor base in any significant/sustainable way without improving their conference affiliation. Illinois State cannot improve its conference affiliation without moving football up. The issue is not whether Redbird basketball can afford to have football around...

Re: vs Drake (in St. Louis), 3/8, 6:00 PM, MVC-TV [FSMW/NBCSC]

Maybe this was already brought up but I heard Josh Jefferson on the radio postgame earlier saying that he is looking forward to working on this unfinished business again next year. I hope that saying doesn’t stick around because it certainly didn’t mean anything this year Two sayings that need to g...

Based off these numbers, we've consistently played above our budget during Dan's tenure.
I think it's evident that the problem lies with those above HCDM. Illinois State needs real leadership in the athletics dept.

Re: Thoughts for this week and going into 2019-2020--HCDM centric

Some good points made...... As much as I want this abomination of a season to be over, I want one more victory to get to a "winning season". As bad as 17-16 would be, I must prefer it to 16-16. I think one change in the staff is inevitable, two coaches leaving is almost as likely. I think they may h...

Nobody wants to start in the Lou on Thursday, but here we are. It's good to see JJ back and we know Matt can get us some minutes. If we are to complete the task at hand we will need more hands. It's never been done before, but if there was ever a chance to pull it off, this is the year. Loyola has ...

Used to go to Vegas just about every year for the opening rounds, but I hate the direction that town has gone in the last 5-10 years or so. Re: Watching some games on ESPN this evening....

Agree that Jankovich was not long for ISU. From the very beginning. I could see it. I do think there is a good chance if he hangs around one more season, he would be making way more $$$ today. And a P5. The $$$ was not that much better. None of that goofy CIW crap. When Nic left, he was not thinkin...

I'm sure you have concrete proof of that  Of course I do, that's why I'm known as "TheTruth" Nic's own words from his Wikipedia page: "As soon as Coach Jankovich left I made up my mind and knew I wanted to go play for a BCS program," Moore stated. "It didn't matter who was going to be the hea...

Jank along with everything else took our best player with him, the jerk. His soft schedule was an embarrassment to the whole league.
As much as I agree with you that Jank's schedules were embarrassing, Moore was gone no matter what.... he thought he was above the MVC/Illinois State.
