the video squad is doing everything to make every sport look big time.
Amen to that! Sadly, Larry is doing his part to keep them small time.

Re: U Conn adjoining Big East

We really need to have a 10 year plan to get football into FBS and move on from there, this school deserves it as we continue to make it better each year.. So much to be excited about, lets get the athletics there too.. Illinois State definitely needs to formulate a plan to finally start competing ...

Re: U Conn adjoining Big East

ISU would be better off without football when it comes to improving conference affiliation Ala Creighton, Wichita state [/quote] Actually, no... that's not the case at all. Illinois State needs FBS football to improve their conference affiliation. Dropping football wouldn't do anything but doom the...

“Greener pastures” what are those? This is Illinois State athletics, we’re all about the path of least resistance not what’s right for the university.

Re: "Indoor Facility ... #1 priority" ... AD Larry Lyons

So every other department met/exceeded their fundraising goal thru this campaign, except athletics? And Larry Lyons is still employed , why? There are never any consequences for this guy continually coming up short, it's almost unbelievable.

I have a strong feeling that in 6-8 years, as Yaklich is leading his own program somewhere, Michigan is going to wish they'd gone with him over Howard.

Agreed, It's time. Being named the tallest midget shouldn't be enough to let him continue.
Appreciate you refereing to our hard-working dedicated student athletes as tall midgets. That's nice. Sweet, actually.
LOL, I didn’t..... but nice try, I guess

https://twitter.com/verbalcommits/status/1125169292197203968?s=21 Buffalo That miss does not sting as it is pretty hard for ISU to beat out buffalo, IMO. Please tell me that he took Reeves schollie spot otherwise we/the MVC highly likely to miss out on Reeves too. Pretty hard to beat out a MAC scho...

Re: Good job on Spring practice coverage

We're often so quick to criticize, that we should praise some things as well. I thought ISUs interns did a good job covering spring practice. Of course we always want more, but the photos, video clips, and player interviews were well done. We don't want to give away info, but it's nice to hear from...

Here is Hancock stadium that most us wouldn't mind seeing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BrxHGO-20Ig https://usajaguars.com/galleries/?gallery=1870 To be honest, seeing as though South Alabama has only been around since 1963, I would expect Illinois State to have a much more impressive facility t...

Re: "Indoor Facility ... #1 priority" ... AD Larry Lyons

Honestly, given the way this whole IPF thing has been botched, I can't believe that Larry Lyons is still employed by the university. The fact that he is, says volumes about the way Dietz views athletics.....very sobering.

Re: Vidette - Student Attendance

This is not a chicken/egg thing. In order for you to expect good crowds you actually have to consistently win. Not the other way around. Get rid of football. Put that money into men's basketball. In a few years ISU would become the next Wichita and Redbird Arena would be full. Men's basketball woul...

Is the "Fire Muller" crowd losing it?

I think it's pretty obvious that it's a jab at the NCAA and their policies.

Besides Gregg Marshall, what other MVC coach of recent vintage would not have a 17-1 conf record as an outlier?

Re: Muller seeks to restore 'toughness, effort'

I don't blame people for being pissed about Redbird basketball, this NCAA drought is entirely too long. I'm not in the "fire Muller" camp but I understand why some are. HCDM was 17-1 in conference just 2 years ago and was COY, he didn't just forget how to coach. Yes, he recruited the wrong kids for ...

Re: MVC Transfers

Here’s a novel idea for ISU. End your football program. Put that money toward basketball. Tell Elgin he needs to expand MVC and add Belmont and Murray St or we are out. ....and if you give Doug that ultimatum and he tells you to pound sand, where are you going to go? We'd be a large public universi...

Re: MVC Transfers

When you see good, young players leaving good private universities like Valpo.....which has a pretty solid young head coach.....you know the future for the Missouri Valley Conference is not bright. And we have one person to thank for this. Doug Elgin. Who allowed the college basketball world to mov...
