Re: Signing day

We have 3 scholarships available and signing day has already come and gone and there is nothing going on here? Isn’t that a concern for people?

Feels like there is no excitement going on with this program at all right now.

Re: Jefferson Transferring

On the flip side MoSt has FOUR TIMES the budget we have for men's basketball. That'll get Dana in front of players substantially more than Dan. Four times. Man. Where are you getting this? I’m pretty sure Missouri St doesn’t have a $10mm/year basketball budget. Wichita’s is like $7mm and pretty sur...

Re: Jefferson Transferring

The inability for Muller and his staff to size up players' inability to perform at a high level before they offer scholarships has become a huge problem. They either aren't evaluating these kids correctly or are super arrogant about their own perceived ability to develop them on an exceptionally rap...

Re: Illinois state AP All-State Teams

If he were 6-4 instead of 6-1 he would be at Michigan St instead of Loyola. Trivia time! Who was the player of the year in the Big Ten and how tall is he? Answer: https://msuspartans.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=8802 Comparing a 6-1 point guard in his 3rd year of college to a 6-1 high school 2-guard? Ok.

Re: Vidette - Student Attendance

This is not a chicken/egg thing. In order for you to expect good crowds you actually have to consistently win. Not the other way around. Get rid of football. Put that money into men's basketball. In a few years ISU would become the next Wichita and Redbird Arena would be full. Men's basketball would...

Re: Illinois state AP All-State Teams

The fact that Kennedy isn’t a first teamer is a joke. Pure silliness. I don’t know about the Moline high school kid but Kennedy is nowhere near the talent of the other four players. The 4 Chicago area players are all high majors Kennedy is High major talent with mid-major height. He pretty much dom...

Re: MVC Post-Season

Muller is not getting anywhere close to same level kids as Murray St. and Belmont. For his sake, he better hope they don't join the Valley. That Williams kid on Murray St. is REALLY good. Freshman. He would be the best player on ISU right now. Completely under control. Really good basketball instinc...

Also, it's a conference with more sports than basketball. Elgin would not be doing his job if he looked only at basketball. Yes it's important, but his job is to oversee all the sports (except football)
What’s your point?

Re: MVC Post-Season

This will be the NCAA Tournament where everyone will be saying....”we picked Valpo over Murray St and Belmont?”

Should have lured them all and gone to 12. But nope...:everyone has their own little tiny interests and fiefdoms to protect.

Re: MVC Transfers

If Elgin can’t convince university presidents what A 10-yr old can see in plain sight then he is either so bad at his job or his role is totally worthless/useless. And if Missouri Valley Football is getting in the way of MVC conference expansion then ISU seriously needs to exit from Missouri Valley...

Re: MVC Transfers

When you see good, young players leaving good private universities like Valpo.....which has a pretty solid young head coach.....you know the future for the Missouri Valley Conference is not bright. And we have one person to thank for this. Doug Elgin. Who allowed the college basketball world to move...

Re: MVC in NCAA

A 24-win Drake not making the NIT should be concerning to the MVC.

We are now at a point where an MVC team needs to basically win 26-27 games to make the NIT and probably 29 or 30 to get an at-large

Can he ball? Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk Saw him play against Brother Rice in regional final. Think he had around 20 pts. He can score. Nice shooting touch especially around the rim. Lot of floater/tear-drop type shots. He is not afraid. Physically he needs to get stronger; but his skill l...

Re: Muller seeks to restore 'toughness, effort'

When Dan was hired I expected we would have many players that reminded me of Dan. Fundamentally sound High basketball IQ Defense focused. In the 7 years I have seen two players that remind me of that. Tony Wills and now Matt Chastain. While we can’t have nothing but those types of players, we need ...

Illinois state AP All-State Teams

Several of these kids uncommitted. Some of the top players in the state. https://week.com/sport/illinois-sports-from-the-associated-press/2019/03/14/illinois-boys-3a-4a-ap-all-state-teams/ And I have seen Marquise Kennedy up close. We are in trouble. Landing Antonio Reeves would help. Who is Deonte ...
