Re: Milik- Portsmouth Invitational

Milik's team loses game two as former Woffard guard Fletcher McGee hits a three at the buzzer over Milik.

Milik had a tough day scoring 6 points on 1-9 from the floor. He started and had three rebounds, five assists, and ZERO TURNOVERS in 24 minutes of play. Milik is 10-10 from the FT line so far.

Milik- Portsmouth Invitational

He opened the touranment with 11 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists in 27 minutes off the bench. His team plays again at 3:15 this afternoon. This tournament can often get AAU-Street ball like with everyone trying to show out, but the scoring on his team was pretty balanced with three players scoring...

Re: D1 Transfers of Interest

Nana Akenten, a 6'6 wing, has announced he is transferring from Nebraska. We offered him out of high school. He is originally from Bolingbrook and could definitely play the "hardship" card and be immediately eligible. He played in 28 games with 2 starts, averaging 4.3 points, and 2.5 rebounds in 13 ...

Re: D1 Transfers of Interest

Noah Baumann, San Jose State, 6'5, Sit one, play 2. Shooter. Ike Gassman wing type. Last season, he scored 10.8 points per game in 27 minutes while shooting 45% from three. He is included on this list for two reasons. First, we could use a shooter after Cope and Jefferson are gone (if they stay wit...

Really hoping this kid signs with the birds. It would be interesting to see what he could do after he gets in our weight program.
He'd probably just get a stress fracture. sorry, I couldn't resist.

Re: Signing day

It's just the start of the spring signing period. Still plenty of time for kids to decide to commit. I'd be surprised if we didn't bring in a D1 sit out transfer.

Re: Former Redbirds...

Phil signed with Overtime International Sports agency. This agency currently has a couple of guys in the NBA and others all over the world. Should be a good to help Phil find a paycheck overseas.

Re: Mullins - SIU

I know grades weren't the main reason for him leaving BHS but grades are the issue if he plans to go to SIU. I would still be surprised if he ever plays for the dogs.

Hefferman also reported despite Anthony leaving, both Beane players plan on staying with the program.

Re: Mullins - SIU

Anthony Beane will not be retained at SIU. Mullins will have a completely new staff. Also, Mullins still says Chris Payton is committed.... good luck with that.

Rumor is St. Johns offered Porter the job. If he takes, early names to replace him at Loyola are Yaklich or Bryce Drew.

Re: Former Redbirds...

Milik will be playing in the Portsmouth Invitational. Osiris, Tyler Brown, and Plee also played in it. I believe it is basically an opportunity for players to get in front of scouts who aren't necessarily invited to the NBA Combine. Games start Wednesday 4/17 https://goredbirds.com/news/2019/4/15/me...

Re: Jefferson Transferring

Zeke Upshaw . . . suppose we did a poor job of developing him. A player "blowing up" is as much about fit as it is about development. Zeke didn't fit with Muller. Seems Josh didn't either. If he tears it up elsewhere, good for him, but he wasn't going to tear it up here. Serious question, does anyb...
