Re: Carson Camp, QB, Normal West

Well Shuttlesworth, so far every school that Carson has visited is D-1 - no need to worry. Schools I know he had visited to date besides ISU are: Western Michigan, Central Michigan, and South Dakota.

Re: RBF.net NCAA Bracket Challenge!

I think this is a first, since the tournament went to 64 teams that I have all of the Sweet Sixteen correct. I can say it was easier when only 24 teams were in the NCAA Tournament - ha, ha, ha. I only wish I used these same selections in my co-workers pool where first place pays around $200.

Re: Illini

Well, sometimes a team needed an "attitude" adjustment. In Sports, sometimes you get hit in the mouth - it does not feel good. Coach Holm was correct in saying weekends like this happen sometimes - the important thing is how you react to it?

Getting Hurt in Recruiting

The lack of an indoor facility is starting to have real consequences in recruiting. I know of a HS kid getting recruited by the Redbirds - in fact his family has season tickets. However, they have visited several MAC schools and now other MFVC schools. They noted this weekend that University of Sout...

Re: BU disgraces itself, telling longtime PJS beat writer 'You don't promote the Bradley brand'

How about Wardle leaving Dave Snell hanging for almost an hour before doing the post-game interview??? They knew it would be a little while for the NCAA press conference - but Wardle showed up, just before they were to leave press row. Chad Klein kept saying he had texted a number of people, then Sn...

Re: Muller seeks to restore 'toughness, effort'

Well, we will see what happens. Now Bruninga not being available until October? That does not sound good. While it was in the article - it was not in quotes - we need guards who are basketball players period - not just athletes who will learn to play guard. Guards that shoot when appropriate, know h...

Bradley AD on Selection Committee

Bradley AD Chris Reynolds is on the Selection Committee this year. There was an article saying he has to leave the room when seeding BU, which is understandable. However, what about any discussion about Indiana, since supposedly they are a bubble team, which I think is a joke, but it could happen. R...

Re: Out Coached and Out Smarted

Several things - I thought the Vidette article was truthful - maybe not as polished as some would want, but truthful. I did talk to President Dietz in St. Louis - Before our game. However, I did not see anyone - I mean no one from the Athletic Administration all Friday - yes I saw a number of the wo...

Re: Bracketology

You are correct on the 2006 season being a turning point - JIm Delany is primary Asshole in getting this changed. Make no mistake Delany made it his mission. The MVC needs a new commissioner - Elgin and Patty V., both need to retire.

Re: Coaching Candidates

I am hearing that the Athletic Dept is hearing from enough donors and season ticket holders - they are expecting a drop of at least 30 percent and may even reach 40 percent - non-renewals IF there is not a change in the coach. That may change one way or the other depending on how Arch Madness turns ...

Re: To foul or not to foul...

I am of the opinion to have two guys in the back court playing physical defense - if the ref calls a foul, so be it - it not and we get a turnover, all the better. Have a third player around the timeline to foul IF somehow the first two were unsuccessful. Make sure the back two guys are aware of the...

Re: Kindred discusses Donewald era

Rico mentioned he thought it was more difficult to get into the NCAA tournament back in the early 80's - I think do not necessarily agree. Yes, there were fewer teams in the Tournament - no question about it. ESPN was still new and the only Sports Network around and did not have the commentary like ...

Re: at Southern Illinois, 3/2, 1:00 PM, CBSSN

Birdman07 - I disagree with your assessment of a "bad" team. Yes, the Birds have not met expectations this year, and are at times frustrating. However, the results of an overall record of 16-14, 9-8 - are not in the "bad" category. They are more of average or mediocre. I would say an overall record ...

Re: New Parking configuration?

Update - heard that the Ropp Lot - G-83 in ISU terms - will have all spaces numbered and reserved. In the past, half of the lot was numbered and the other half as "General Admission" or first-come, first-served - this is where the tailgating takes place. Thus, this will make tailgating rather diffic...

Thanks for the info - just means we have to limit turnovers and NO quick 3s, no 3s off the dribble or shooting just to be shooting because you are open the first 5 seconds after crossing the time line. Fayne or Yarbrough need to touch the ball on almost every possession.

Re: Kindred discusses Donewald era

Yes, those Donewald years in the early to mid-80's were fun - no question. I wish he would have had been given a year or two with Redbird Arena to see what would have happened. Ron Wellman will forever be a Jackass in my book and Tom Wallace will forever be a Supreme Prick - not only was he a part o...

Re: vs. Missouri State 2/27 6pm (FSN Midwest, ESPN+)

Good win - good crowd involvement. Rey helped a bunch in the first half - Evans and Copeland are giving us nothing in terms of offense - cannot win at SIU or in STL with those type of lackluster performances.

Thank Goodness Hein did not play in the second half - just a supreme offensive liability.
