Re: TE Mitchell Lewis transfer

Big kid 6'5" 250. Good basketball player. Can't have enough targets. With his size and basketball skills (all conference in high school), this is really intriguing. He played with no stats during his redshirt freshman year at Miami. Hopefully he spent his growing/learning time on their scholarship ...

Re: STATS FCS Football Article - Biggest FCS Games for 2019

Let's talk about what they DON'T have and what we DO have. Changing this to another team. I was reading a news item describing the long term decline of the Youngstown area. In short, over the past couple of decades especially, income levels and population are down. The region has lost 10% of its po...

Which brings us back to the Indooor Practice Facility topic .... it is a difference maker given we play and compete for recruits in upper midwest.

Re: STATS FCS Football Article - Biggest FCS Games for 2019

The whole population of North Dakota is about the same as i-74 from Galesburg to Champaign. It is less than one of the collar counties. They pull 15 from their state and we probably have a similar number on our roster from the I-74 corridor. All four Dakota schools are going to do well in Minnesota....

Re: STATS FCS Football Article - Biggest FCS Games for 2019

Tnx for sharing the article! Big10 just makes me vomit anymore. I listen and read about the Illini and Smith...and what a freaking waste of everything. The only redeemable thing about the last few years....the Illini has been dirt. I am ready for the Dakotas to start taking a backseat in the MoVall...

Re: "Indoor Facility ... #1 priority" ... AD Larry Lyons

The Capital Bill appears to have funds for the long delayed arts classroom building. That will include space for the glass house, and I imagine it's current home will be demolished. That is the building between Hancock and UHigh. That should add about 30 tailgating spots. All dependent on the State ...

Re: 2019 NCAA Baseball Tournament

Birds need to win once. Either IU or Louisville will have to beat the Birds twice. Pitching depth really matters, as did help from the bench today. If I understand it correctly, our regional is matched with Eastern Carolina's. That one is behind schedule due to weather, but the team on the winners s...

That article on academics is about seven years old. A couple of classes have entered as Freshmen and graduated since then.

Re: ISU over NIU listed as a possible FCS over FBS upset

They have a talented team. Carey recruited well. I like our chances as they have a new coach implementing new systems but NIU will be the more talented team when the ball is kicked off. I still think we can win the game and I'm hoping to attend. :D :text-+1: The mathematical rankings would have had...

Re: 2014 Playoffs - New Hampshire - (all was lost)

I doubt you'll ever see a conference dominate nationally like the MVFC in 2014. Top to bottom, Valley schools beat almost everyone they played. I don't remember the conference's out of conference record, but it was nearly perfect.

Good job on Spring practice coverage

We're often so quick to criticize, that we should praise some things as well. I thought ISUs interns did a good job covering spring practice. Of course we always want more, but the photos, video clips, and player interviews were well done. We don't want to give away info, but it's nice to hear from ...

Re: Offensive backfield depth

Except that some of these "QBs" were recruited as athletes. They were given a chance to make it as a QB, before realizing they'd play some other position. I remember Todd Berry saying that he recruited lots of high school QBs knowing that they weren't suited for the position in college. By being the...

Re: Offensive backfield depth

We signed a freshman QB in the early signing period, Jack Baltz, more of a traditional passer. I doubt he'll be even the backup as long as Davis is here, but he might be the guy in the future. Tall, skinny for now.

Re: Brian Adams leaves team

I’m pretty sure we expected him to be RB1 in the future so this stings a bit. I wish him well. Competitive kids sometimes want to move to assure themselves of playing time. I never saw enough to expect anything specific. Under new rules that he could play in a few games and still redshirt, I think ...

Pretty sure Bones replaced Hirsch for the last few games last year. Will be interesting to see how that plays out. Solomon simply has more experience, so I think you're right there. This does look really solid. We'll use multiple receivers at times, as well as two tight ends. Those guys can all expe...

Spack might want to start thinking about why more RS SRs are opting out of program once they graduate. Coincidence or trend ? This is a trend only in that the rule permitting grad transfers isn't very old. Just a couple seasons ago his options would have been to quit playing or to play as a Redbird...

Re: Purdue's Jeff Brohm to Louisville

Uiuc's AD is smart to extend Smith. It helps with recruiting right now, and likely lowers the future buyout so a change could still be made next year if desired. The buyout was too pricey for a change now according to many reports, so he was going to be the coach again in 2019 anyway. The Illini hav...
