Re: Cayman Island Classic

Wellllll....some blame may be cast on the infamous bus trip to Mizzou for the football game in '07 for no longer having such events   Phantom, that was way before me time. So exactly what happened? Hookers bursting out of a cake on the bus? Cocaine deals in the bathroom? If you're sayin...

Re: Indoor Facility News

I guess I am responsible for this Financial State of ISU discussion, even if it was without any intent on my part. I did a little searching on-line myself and found this article from Forbes to be interesting. The financial woes of the State Universities in Illinois appear not only to be from the la...

Re: Cayman Island Classic

Not to beat a dead horse, but it's slow here today, I just want to be clear that I want nothing special from ISU. I simply wanted some effort. How about an email campaign hyping this tournament? Information about rooms for ISU fans. Maybe a 7 Mile Beach cocktail hour with ISU types? I'm sure their ...

Re: Season Opener

SIUE 68 Redbirds 61....The Cougars only outscored the Birds during the 4th quarter....and reverse the flow of the game, 23-10 during the quarter. Sad demise of the game...since Goods scored 25 points, pulled down 12 rebounds and was 9-9 from the charity stripe. The TEAM was 13-14 for FTs!!! During ...

Re: 11/13 Chicago State game thread

I doubt MY starts.

“He just doesn't compete and he's not coachable. That happened last year a bunch of times. I'll do it again,” said Muller of benching Yarbrough for long stretches.

Re: VB off to a Great Start!

Win at Bradley on Friday night and they are conference champs! So does that mean the tie breaker is overall record? I think UNI lost 8 times, even though their RPI is a lot better ( 15th vs our 34th) But 24 wins! I wonder if that means they'll go to the big dance even if they fail to win the MVC ch...

It was a 4 hour drive from Terre Haute to Nashville. Two questions-
1- did anyone try to make both?
2- if so why would you admit it?
I admit that I least thought about it....

Re: FGCU Season Opener

I think we lucked out with it being FGCU's first game. I don't think they would have normally turned the ball over 20+ times. I think Saturday is Belmont's first game as well. I think it's great we had a couple of exhibition games under our belt before taking these teams on.

Re: VB off to a Great Start!

In the MVC we're at the top in both Hitting Pct and Opponent Hitting Pct. UNI is right behind us hitting wise, but more near the bottom on the defense hitting pct. So us tied at the top of the standings really is not a fluke. http://mvc-sports.com/stats.aspx?path=wvball&year=2018 Also, Marissa Stock...

Re: First game today for the redbird women!

Last year they had trouble shooting the three's, at least in the handful of games I attended. I'm expecting that to change biggly this year, which will really help Simon Goods down low. She missed a lot of easy shots in some games, but would still score in the twenties. Nobody can stop her but herse...

City place is decent. No bed bugs or roaches. Rooms and halls a bit worn down but supposed to be updated. I've stayed there numerous times but not in several years. I'd stay there agian though. I would say I recommend it bit I didn't know how worn down it is at this point. It has gotten worse. Meh....

Re: Tonight

they didn't foul in zone either. if they can keep it at 3/4 personal fouls per half that will be huge. 10 overall is not horrible though. big improvement from last season even with 10 per game. I kinda forgot how foul prone we were last year. It wasn't just a shortened bench, but also about guys fo...

Re: Make or Break time

Interesting quote by Spack today in the Pantagraph on the St. Xavier game. "We thought we should a game," Spack said of filling an 11 game schedule. "That's the only game, I guess we could find. That's what I've been told." Seems to me Larry is the one that scheduled the game to put us down a win b...

Anyone else notice Rey walking gingerly through the line like something was hurting? I thought he looked a little gimpy at times too... JJ can really shoot. First game didn't bother him at all. Looked completely poised. I saw him shooting before the game and he was nailing most of them. Can he also...

Last year we beat them when they were ranked. ISU hadn't done that in several years, so let's do it two years in a row!

Re: Former Redbirds...

Not a good story on a former Redbird. https://watchstadium.com/news/fight-lands-iona-coach-in-hospital-player-out-of-program-10-26-2018/ Sounds as if they believed the coach before Roland got a chance to present his side, but maybe one punch could've been sufficient. I get ya. I was thinking two, m...
