Re: WIU Game (10/19/2019)

So most years, I would sya something like ... WIU is tough, they always play us tough, but I expect to win a close game. This year, that does not appear to be the case. I must say, WIU has hung tough in football despite considerably tougher headwinds compared to ISUr. ... This one may get a little ...

Re: Vote for Kate Del Fava Natl Soccer Senior Award....

ISU's best athlete this year....13 goals already. I think the next best person in the Valley had only 5. Quite a difference, eh?

Re: Since 2016

I was hoping for better results this year, but who knows how the rest of the year turns out. He pretty much overhauled his coaching staff the last few years, but the team doesn't seem any different. That's what bothers me more than anything.... I'm just hoping for a couple road wins the next few wee...

Re: @ SIU 10/12/19

:text-+1: Just like basketball, I’m no longer giving the benefit of doubt to programs outside of women’s volleyball and soccer... SIU -24 ISU-21 KInda feel the same way. We'll probably get down double digits early, then make a close game of it. I want to see the passing game get over 200 yards. That...

Re: NDSU Game (10/5/19)

Replay at our level is a bad joke. Not enough cameras. Not enough angles. There should be a minimum number of cameras for replay to be in effect at any game. Was the original call a TD, or did they say he was down? I could understand if they just didn't have the angle to overrule him being called d...

Re: NDSU Game (10/5/19)

Randy Reinhardt is reporting on Twitter that the Missouri Valley Conference has confirmed to ISU that mistakes were made by the on-field and replay referees on both the long Rutkiewicz reception and the disallowed Ridgeway forced fumble recovery. Re: Since 2016

Thanks, TotalRed!! I no longer feel the need to comment. I agree 100%. Another thing that struck me watching the game yesterday...it is easier for a football team to be blown out than a basketball team. I always felt the same. In football, if your down 28 points, you're usually beat physically and ...

Re: NDSU Game (10/5/19)

I think there's at least a fair chance our pass rush gives their freshman QB a bad day. This rush has been pretty malicious the past couple games against a couple pretty good OLs. This is what I'll be keying on. Is our pass rush good enough to be a difference maker in this game? Stick needed time t...

Thankfully I have been using the internet for quite a while, so I both understand and respect your paranoia. While I am not an interloper, I am not sure what the proper Redbird shibboleth is that I can say to convince you of my authenticity. Some non-googleable tidbits with hopefully a plausible am...

Re: 2019-20 Expectations

a relatively in depth valley preview article from 3MW. some interesting thoughts on all teams and some analytics, which i love to see. https://www.three-man-weave.com/3mw/missouri-valley-basketball-2020-preview I kinda figured Bradley might be considered near the top, since they didn't seem to lose...

Re: Chastain - Arm in a Sling?

At least its not a leg injury. He can keep his cardio workouts going so there is minimal transition time when the season starts. Yep, and no two handed jams. Looks like he might end up missing a game. I think we need him for that Belmont game. Don't want to give up 100 points on our home court.

Chastain - Arm in a Sling?

I saw him from a distance at the volleyball game this weekend. His right arm was in a sling and his wrist looked bandaged (or maybe in a cast). Anybody hear anything? Hopefully it's just a sprain ( or I mistook him for another long haired white kid hanging out with Copeland & Torres ).

Re: NDSU Game (10/5/19)

I guess they should try some of those prospective redshirts out this next game. They got four games before they lose a year. If the first group doesn't do it then get some others in there. Seems like one of those guys will emerge to be our stud this year. Haley seems to be dropping the ball too much...

Re: WR Edgar & Grimes done for season

My observation in the spring and August scrimmages was that everybody made a nice catch and everybody dropped a catchable ball. Edgar and Grimes were our best but I don't think there is a giant chasm between them and everyone else. Next man up. We also need other positions to fill the void. I think...

Yep, not a good weekend for them. I feel like they will really own the valley this year (fingers crossed). We played a tough schedule so far, so that should have us ready me thinks.

My little brother (he's actually taller than me now) was working in the Pentagon at the time. He worked one wing over from where the plane hit. His office filled with smoke and he had to run for it, but he was okay. He knew some of the people who died though. Years later I visited him over Thanksgiv...

Re: Could ISU ever get a new practice facility..

NIU had one donor donate $3M, which was close to half of the amount needed. that is what we need to get this project done Wow. I would have thought that place would have cost way more than 6 or 7 million. I didn't get to look inside it though. It's a big pole barn and more than good enough. https:/...
