Re: "Indoor Facility ... #1 priority" ... AD Larry Lyons

So the Redbird Rising 3 year fundraising campaign hit its $150,000,000 goal 13 months early (someone give a bonus to that fundraising team!) I think it is certainly possible to raise the $$$ for an indoor facility if you reach out to the right companies. Hell, they made $150,000,000 in a little over...

Re: Where dey go?

I hate embracing the minor league FCS approach - but if Harris and Edwards get serious playing time at FBS programs this year then I figure use it to your advantage in recruiting. If a kid gives us 3 solid years on the field AND graduates and they want to give their talents a try at FBS level then ...

The exact same time as AEW All Out at Sears Center up the street. Damn it. Was really hoping for a 1 PM game so I could get one hotel and do both.

You may all commence calling me a nerd.

Paris Lee just got PAAAAAID. He might not be in the NBA, but the kid now can go just about anywhere he wants in international ball. He will make LOTS of money playing the game over there.

That's right, we DID get through there. I only remember the NH game.

Re: At Western Michigan 2021

I'm pretty sure he meant Eastern Michigan, who we kinda dominated.

EWU is a great deal better than EMU and I don't think we have ever gotten out of EWU's angry red turf alive, though I may be wrong.

Re: ISU over NIU listed as a possible FCS over FBS upset

I welcome those that would look at ISU as a dramatically lesser team. There was a guy there that expected a 50 point win. Not sure if he realized that our average OL is an established 310lber or that James Robinson will be the best college football player in the state of Illinois this year. I'll be ...

Re: So how are we feeling now?

As much as I hate to say it, this team will probably be better just by addition by subtraction. The Chris Duhon experiment was... bad. I was REALLY excited about that signing, but I just don't think he gave a shit about the college game or the young men he was working with at all. Further, Keyshawn ...

So how are we feeling now?

After what I have to say is among the most incredible three weeks in recent offseason program history, the lineup, staff and overall program looks suddenly, potentially very solid. Let's review: 5/1- Muller fills vacant assistant coaching opening with University of North Dakota HC, Brian Jones. 5/8-...

Rivals lists interested schools including St. Louis, Illinois, Georgetown and Wisconsin (with Wisconsin as almost a sure fire signing).

From the best HS program in Chicago. This is...huge.

Re: ISU over NIU listed as a possible FCS over FBS upset

I remember us treating Colorado State as about the same as Southern Illinois and then actually having an easier time vs them than SIU. The gap between FCS and the non-power 5 BCS has never been so slim. I am pretty sure that the top of the MVFC would look at NIU as an expected win. We need to have t...

Re: Committed: Harouna Sissoko, 6-7, SF, Mali (via Iowa)

Boy, I really REALLY like this signing. Not only is he a young 6'7'' kid, but he had a 7' 2' wingspan, per one report. Want to disrupt shooters? Put a hand 8.5 feet into the sky and see if they can shoot over it. Also, I'll say it, dunks are important. Dunks get the crowd into it and get coaches to ...

Re: Abdou Ndiaye

As a reminder, this guy is not a traditional post forward. I suspect he will spend nearly all of his time at the 3. He is essentially a 6'10'' guard who CAN play the post, but whose best play comes from outside of it. I would hope, with his length, he'd be able to get into rebounding position, but d...

Re: Abdou Ndiaye

I've seen the kid up close a few times, he is not your traditional central African body type. He seems to have more weight to him than I expected. I am less interested in his current practice FG% and more interested in his current weight. If he is at 220-230, we are in pretty good shape.

Re: Copeland, Hein out 2019

I would like to chime in to say that the title "Copeland, Hein out 2019" is not declaring a rumor, rather seemingly stating a hard fact. You can't present rumor as fact as it does measurable damage to the program. If people see this and are like "Well, we are losing two more seniors to transfer, I'm...

Re: College Basketball Coaching Carousel

And stop bringing up money. As has been noted here and many other places, Porter came INTO coaching loaded. The guy has been extremely comfortable financially his whole life. So some team offering a guy with 3 million in the bank an extra $250K to deal with extreme scrutiny in a new place does not m...
