Re: UALR @ ISU Sunday 3PM ESPN3

Here is what I saw last night that differed from last two years: ISU gave up a 10 point lead with about 4 minutes left (We've seen this before). But then they took a timeout and regrouped to completely own the last 3.5 minutes. (This is new). I think we might be in a bunch of close games this year a...

Point guards matter.
Yep, big difference with Torres and Horne vs Keyshawn and Heine. Looks like Copeland can now just focus on scoring.
Best point I've seen yet.

Re: Belmont @ Illinois State

Remember last year when we couldn't hit the 3...and the year before when we couldn't hit the 3... and 10 of the last 12 years where we couldn't hit the 3. Can't win in college basketball without hitting the 3. There is exactly one guy on this team who can't at least be serviceable from 23 feet. How ...

That is a game that is going to make A LOT of Valley coaches look twice or even 3 times at that 7th projection.

Re: Belmont @ Illinois State

While I do think we get absolutely mushed in a few hours, ESPN has us losing by free throws.

Anyone have a scouting report on Belmont? Are they supposed to suck or something?

Re: Mid-Major Coaching Salaries

I believe Muller surrounded him with a good coaching staff when he joined ISU and over the years it has eroded. We had a couple of strong recruiters that could relate to young talent. While I think the current staff is definitely an upgrade over the past two years, I still think we may be missing t...

Re: Mid-Major Coaching Salaries

As a reminder, Muller has won the Missouri Valley and been the MVC COY. There are at least 2 dozen coaches from the private schools that out earn coach. Porter, for example, is probably sneaking up on $800K. I'll beat this drum till it changes: Dan Muller has never had a losing season as a head coa...

Re: WIU Game (10/19/2019)

I'll say it: Brady Davis isn't... great. I think I've had enough sample size now to say he is probably about the same as Kolbe if not a little lesser than him. I was just going back in time to see our QBs and I think we have been spoiled by some pretty excellent ones. Here is the last decade and a h...

Re: Hancock West side....

I kinda agree. The school needs to officially announce a vision and a goal for either an indoor facility attached to the west side or a "face lift" to that west side, but "fine" probably isn't what we are looking for anymore, is it? We can win 6 games a year, have a winning season every year yet sti...

So, excellent article on the kid, but can I ask why there is a screen sized picture of Randy Kindred headlining this article directly below a different smaller stock photo of Randy then an equally small picture of Fisher in the body of the article?

Re: Since 2016

If I may, there is one major thing that I have noticed that we switched away from after 2015 that bugs me: A read option, dual threat offense. I know, I know. Tre Roberson isn't going to fall into our lap every year (or every 10), but I just don't think running a pocket passer QB system is the way t...

Re: In-state athletic budgets..

We just have to understand that there is no magic pill, keep the school itself expanding in both programs and enrollments, get the athletic budget to increase towards $40M.. keep upgrading facilities and hiring quality coaches and if the chance to bump up occurs, we are positioned to do such. addin...
