Re: Birds @ Loyola

I'm not here to make friends and sing around a campfire. Well you're missing out, man. We have campfire get-togethers at least 4 times a week, quite often in The Quad. Interesting scene, too. Lots of regulars. Quinn is there, scaring people in the dark with his flaming tuba. BBfan shows up in zebra...

Re: $6.2 million Redbird Arena project

its an extracurricular activity. at least playing at games and stuff. just like debate or chess or basketball. they don't get credits for that. it would be cool if they did. they don't get scholarships do they? It wouldn't have to be extracurricular in the way you're saying if the member was someho...

Re: $6.2 million Redbird Arena project

Too bad we don't fill it to that 10K though. Could this be the year we finally join the 10K group again?? Mighty wishful thinking.

But I'll still maintain wishful thinking.

Re: $6.2 million Redbird Arena project

3.) What the capacity drops to? I'm going to guess in the 9,600-9,800 range. Considering we rarely get close to 9,000, that's not a bad thing if we're able to create additional revenue off box seats, another suite, etc. Might seem small potatoes, but I want capacity to remain over 10,000 (hate to s...

Re: $6.2 million Redbird Arena project

It does bring up a question for me. Can someone give me a good reason why playing in the band (football or bball) is NOT credited?? At least towards general equivalents?? Seems silly to me. Perhaps 1 credit hour per semester in which the student actively participates? Flat 3 hrs a year? I don't know...

Re: $6.2 million Redbird Arena project

I was not aware I was posting about the band in 2 different threads. Sorry. And, I shouldnt call the kids trash that's not nice. its not their fault anyway. they play what they play well. my issue is with what they play and the length of time they have been playing the same thing Fair enough.

I also like how you brought it up in the isu AT loyola game. Who knew we had a traveling band! Do we rock or WHAT?!!! In the 9800(ummm ok!) seat Loyola arena.

Alright brother, done busting your chops. Have a great day man.

We shouldn't have a student band. GREAT idea. I also like your name for the band. Trash band. Yeah. Great idea. Yeah. Yeah.

Re: DECEMBER 20th...will REDBIRD ARENA survive??

I still have nightmares when I stumbled on the EDUCATION DAY at an EIU game in Charleston. ISU was visiting EIU over the TGiving week and the basketball arena was packed to the gills....with screaming grade schoolers. The Birds lost by 30. Worse LOUD basketball I have ever attended. December 20th w...

ISU volleyball is a GREAT product. I was a basketball freak but watching those girls play with that athleticism and speed and power forever won me over. Every bit as enjoyable as a basketball game...dare I say it...maybe more in the right environment.

Re: NDSU game 10/20

welcome to Fargo. should be a great game... although with Spocks Stache gone, I think you guy will be hurting! NDSU has gotten off to 3 slow starts, I'd really like to see our offense step it up. Defense has been great, just giving up some passing yards here or there. weather will be 50 or so, so c...

Feinstein tells a great story about Digger Phelps and a few former ND stars approaching Gene Banks, the Philly kid who was being recruited by everyone in the country, but it had come down to Duke and Notre Dame...and Banks had already verbal'd to Duke. This was mid to late 70's so Duke wasn't the Du...
