Re: Standingd

Dan Muller might be the worst end of game coach in history! Someone who defends him give me a breakdown of his record when trailing by 5 or up 5 with ten to go in the game. Why put up with Milik like he has to sit him in that situation? DM already has a short roster. He can’t afford to be down guys...

Double his salary.
I thought he made between $400k-$450k here. However, even if we bumped his pay to $500k, we still couldn’t pay him close to NIU.

Re: New WR Coach

Don't mean to dog the guy, but you know, we go from an ex-Big 10 assistant to an Ohio Valley assistant. That's a little bit of a let down. I respect his Wyoming experience, and hope he gets the job done. In Spack we trust!! Mad .... I'm hearing the MN guy was coaching with 1 foot out the door from ...

Re: Fire Larry Lyons

This thread will now die since it was moved to the general forum, but hope the talk continues. That’s by design. For some reason Quinn would rather bury his head in the sand and try and blame the decreased interest in his board/Redbird athletics on the people that point out the underperformance in ...

Re: MVC Injuries

I feel bad for the kid. He will likely make a great coach someday. He is far past the 6th year timing though. IMO, you have to be fair to everyone. It's only a matter of time before, hopefully, someone sues the NCAA over what appears to be a very uneven process in terms of waivers and extra RS years.

Re: Roster changes

I don't think we've heard the back story with Markel Smith. He was in the Spack doghouse by years end, that's for sure. There was a pretty consistent work split between him and Robinson early in the season. Wouldn't shock me to hear Smith wanted to adjust that. Does anyone know why things went sout...

Re: Fire Larry Lyons

Lyons putting his family on the pay roll, you cant defend that. This board is a dumpster fire for comments like this. Climb back under your rock and continue donating your $500 a year while making sure you make up that entire donation up at the hog roast. I hope that the next athletic department ad...

Re: Samford v King Karl

There is acually a list of situations over the past 20 years where he has made critical errors, and in some, even assessed poorly-called technicals in situations where the errors were pointed out to him. L Beyond that, he is no longer allowed to ref ACC games after making racist comments to a specta...

Re: NIU fans not happy about playing us

I would venture Illinois, NW, NIU, and really any regional P5 team like playing a close FCS school because they pay us less than someone who will have an extra night hotel stay or a charter flight involved.

Re: Fire Larry Lyons

It sounds like Larry is sticking around 2 or 3 more years then retire. Dietz isn't going to fire him. Dietz doesn't care enough as long as they aren't losing money. Dietz doesn't have the fire of Bowman to try to make athletics top notch. We are sinking and there doesn't appear to be any hope on th...

Re: NIU fans not happy about playing us

From playing NIU, we get a low-expense Road game near our two biggest alumni markets. We get a 6-figure payday. Based on our last few FBS games, we have a chance to win. Playing NIU checks a lot of boxes. I would love to play NIU and have a few thousand Redbirds in attendance. Hopefully there is tal...

Re: FCS coaching changes ... couple big ones

Exactly. It's still NDSU. They didn't skip a beat after Bohl left, and I doubt they skip much of one with Klieman leaving. If they lose 4 games next year, I'll be surprised. Bohl left but Wentz was still their starting QB. Any HC walking into a national POtY candidate as the QB is set up pretty nic...

Re: FCS coaching changes ... couple big ones

Here’s my hot take: they don’t win the Valley and lose T least 3-4 games. I’m sure they have a lot of talent coming in, but I think losing a good amount of coaches, most of their top offensive players, and a lot on defense would mean they wouldn’t be the top national championship contenders. They c...

Re: Lexi Wallen, from VB to BBall....

Loving the addition of Wallen. She knows the Redbird culture and probably had a connection to at least some of the players. She seems to be improving with each game, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see her start in the post at some point this conference season. It would be huge, especially losing Goo...

Re: MY

Why all all our transfers sitting out? Mark Smith just played in his 2nd straight Illini/Missou game, one for each team, while transferring in between. P5s playing under different set of rules. Where are all our waivers NCAA? Until Fisher’s cast comes off, does it even matter if the waiver is appro...

Re: At UCF Friday 6pm

In the light of day. I thought Idowu banged around pretty hard last night. I also thought that when he and Fayne were in there together we held our own on the boards. I also liked the fact that he got a LOT of minutes against really big and strong players. Frankly he gave us lot better minutes in t...

Re: 2018 recap, 2019 needs ...

If we're looking at remaining FBS transfers: WR and OL help. It sounds like we're in the mix for both but need them to actually materialize on campus. We had good field position when we missed a lot of FGs including several in crucial situations. No matter where we get the kicker from - incoming FR,...
