Re: Practices

From a watching the bench perspective, it's been watching the bench guys interact with the team. Fisher is always talking to the guys, picking them up, making suggestions, and being kind of a vocal leader. Chas has been doing some of that too on the floor and it wouldn't surprise me to see those two...

Re: Birds @ Loyola

I wouldn't disagree with most of the points that you're making. I think Milik made the right call attempting the pass to Phil. It was his reaction running back and in the huddle that concerned me. This game may decide our seeding come tournament time, but it is unlikely to decide the fate of our se...

Re: vs UNI 1/8/19, 7 pm, NBC Chicago

--I'm starting to feel bad for Keyshawn. His shot is gone, and I'm starting to wonder if he has the yips. Were I him I would come inside the arc and do what Copeland did to get his confidence back and shoot some closer jumpers and get them to fall. i cant believe defenders are still flying out at K...

Re: vs UNI 1/8/19, 7 pm, NBC Chicago

You like that inbound play where they all ran receiver routes and Hein (the last guy on the floor you want to) caught the ball and had to take the FT’s? Or the constant icing of his own FT shooters at the end of games? Or having Idowu be the inbound guy and almost turn it over? Or having Keyshawn h...

Re: vs UNI 1/7/19, 7 pm, NBC Chicago

Depends on what your definition of redshirt is -- didn't Hawkins and McIntosh "sit out a year", whether you call it a redshirt or something else? Problem is, with HC Dan, no one sticks around 5 years!! So I guess my question should be when is the last time we redshirted a player and he used h...

Re: ISU vs Evansville, 1/5/19

As crazy as it might sound, I l really liked our offense, but our shooting was awful . Sometimes when a team plays harder defense, their shots don't fall as usual. Once they get used to playing hard defense, the shots will fall. I liked that Copeland handled the ball more outside the arc and that M...

Re: @Valpo 1/2/19 7pm

My thoughts (admittedly a few might be out of frustration): Kudos to Valpo, they deserved to win. Played solid D down the stretch. After that half court shot went in, its a little hard not to feel like this team is cursed. It will be a SC Top 10 for sure. Yarbs should never get the ball in the back ...

Re: MY

Who actually expected MY to be the leader on this team? Seriously Who? Stop expecting it. Also, if heads sulking were an invitation for sitting the bench for a half, so many teammates would be sitting next to MY on that bench. Phil and Key were expected to be our senior leaders. We heard from Dan t...

Re: Season Prediction

Bottom line. 2 people have led the trees to any level.of success. Bird and Lansing. Lansing is a really good coach. Terra Haught is a ridiculously hard place to succeed. Surprised he hasn't been snatched up yet. Muller is an OK coach. The MYs in his life confound him. i know some think he's just to...

Re: At UCF Friday 6pm

Without delving too much into the game without reviewing it more, it seems th rebounding strategy is on Muller. His entire tenure he has spent time waiving his team back down the court on defense versus people fighting for rebounds. Just watch him during those plays and see him waiving guys back. P...

Re: At UCF Friday 6pm

In the light of day. I thought Idowu banged around pretty hard last night. I also thought that when he and Fayne were in there together we held our own on the boards. I also liked the fact that he got a LOT of minutes against really big and strong players. Frankly he gave us lot better minutes in t...

Re: At UCF Friday 6pm

I am at this game. Yarb at end of bench. Zero communication between him and coaches. In my opinion Muller owns this. It’s a total disaster. The leader of the team routinely gets benched. It’s so stupid. Six TOs in first half. 0-3 from field. Seems that might be on Yarbrough. Yeah, he's our best pla...

Re: At UCF Friday 6pm

Is Taylor dressing? Even if he is cleared it will take awhile for TB to be fully effective. The redshirt is not a bad option unless muller truly believes tb will be up and running 100 percent by seasons end and be a difference maker. As much as I would like to see him play, I think it would be best...

Re: Season Prediction

For the birds, I think we drop the next game to UCF. I think we sweep E-Ville, Valpo, and INSU, then I think we split with Mo St, SIU, Bradley,Drake, UNI and Loyola to finish 12 and 6 in the valley. I think that puts us in second or third. With an order probably something like 1. Loyola 2. SIU 3. I...

--That said, guards, for the love of all that is holy stop throwing bounce passes at Phil and Rey's feet. Throw it up, hit them in the chest or up high so their momentum can carry them to the bucket. :text-+1: :text-+1: :text-+1: Now this is a helpful post! There were at least 3 passes to Rey's fee...

Re: Cleveland State

I would have liked to see them run an offensive play in that situation. Milik was ready to set up the offense, but Dan had him bring it back out and dribble time off. When Milik was released, he tried to drive (which I think was the plan), but the defense dropped back so he stepped up and shot. I w...

Re: Cleveland State

It would be a miracle if they win 20 games. They haven't showed improvement like in other seasons that makes us think there will be a late season run. I hope they make the NIT but it's more likely to 17-14 to 14-17 at this point. They're going to get eaten alive in the conference. I dont think they...
