If I put the over/under at 37, what would you say?
I'm going to say over 37 and we will come in at 43 with Loyola coming in ahead of us at like 35.

Re: NCAA rules changes

Some of these changes just scream cowardice on the part of the NCAA to me. The way I read most of this is, "oh shit some of our big universities might get in trouble here soon, and we dont want to discipline them and make them mad, so we better change the rules" and the instead of saying they will e...

Re: Non-Con Schedule

It's fluid. It very well may be the case that the cards are severely stacked against us. It may also be the case that the pendulum is swinging back a little bit. It would be naive to think that the recent trend is the long-term, indisputable forecast. I would like to believe that the selection proc...

Re: Elijah going pro

I will fully admit I expected this to be a joke thread when I first saw it.

That said, hopefully he has a lot of success over in Europe and I'll be rooting for him.

Congrats Elijah!

Re: 2019 - Chris Payton, 6-7/205, SF, Bloomington, IL

I know it's frustrating Chris committed and then didn't. I'm frustrated by it too. But to call him a scumbag for getting offers from Valpo and SIU is beyond ridiculous. You know how offers work, right? The coach has to offer the player. Let's back off an 18 yr old kid from our own town a little bit...

Offered. https://twitter.com/DeseanEikens/status/1011413490731503617 http://www.verbalcommits.com/players/desean-allen-eikens The video on VC was from his freshman year. I'm sure he's improved by then because it was fairly underwhelming. He reclassifed to 2019 at some point. He was originally a 201...

Philly drafts Mikal Bridges then trades him, then drafts shamet. Fail. From the same guy who said Shamet was not a first round draft pick..... https://www.nbcsports.com/philadelphia/76ers/sixers-select-wichita-state-guard-landry-shamet-26th-pick-nba-draft From the few games (maybe 6 or 7) I have wa...

Re: New assistant coach: Chris Duhon

Really like the hire. Assistant coach with name recognition, and NCAA Championship/NBA pedigree, which will help out on the recruiting trail. And, I'm also guessing he'll be able to teach our guards a thing or two about the position.

Re: Is this the year?

ADunk - you're a fine poster and you get Bird ball. I don't want/expect Phil Fayne to even dream about expanding his range. Once he learns how to make a 15' free toss, then we all can begin the thought of him expanding to outside of the paint. Not his game imo. Plant yourself about 6' away and cont...

Re: Never too early... 18-19 Non-conf schedule

Donors won't give up their view in favor of students. Also, the students have great seats for Football. I was in school when the student section was moved behind the opposing team, talk about an atmosphere. That was fun. What donors? Look at actual ISU athletic donations and the conclusion is easil...

Re: 2019 - Chris Payton, 6-7/205, SF, Bloomington, IL

Do the numbers matter at this point? I believe there is something other than what the kid can do for the program going on. Surely someone knows something? I don't know if the rankings matter per say, as I think big schools have already found him (hence, imo, why he decomitted). But, generally speak...

Re: Eight-Man Rotation?

If Abdou is top 50 material, he better be starting from day 1. Of course, the last can’t miss recruit was Clarance, and he couldn’t get by Hein. On the bolded part above, just because a kid is a top 50 recruit doesn't mean they need to start. Just in a brief look at last years top 50 recruits the f...

Re: ACC proposing 72 team field

SOunds like a way to get 4 extra 8th place P6 teams. If it means at least 2 extra mid majors I'm all for it. I agree that this just kind of sounds like a way to get more crappy P6 teams in the tourney. I'd rather have rules for getting an at large thnlan an expansion of any kind. As to the others, ...

Re: Muller Math

Don’t take this the wrong way, but if he plays more than 10mpg we aren’t as good as we thought. I'm not going try and start a Matt Hein fight, but in my opinion you are wrong. Hein can average 11-12 minutes a game and we'll still be good, 10-12 minutes isn't earth shattering, and Muller really like...

Re: Muller Math

Hein’s minutes will evaporate. He’ll graduate, and decide to move on with his life. I think he’s played his last year on scholarship at ISU. The 3-1 scholarship/pay you own way arrangement was a helluva deal for a handcuff with very little basketball talent. Not to mention, he was handcuffed to a h...

On Elijah - "Whatever he chooses, he needs to get better this summer". Hmmm He said that about every player. It's every player's job to get better over the summer no matter if they are on campus or playing on a national team. Listening to it I believe Muller said that "whatever he chooses, its on h...

Re: Loyola Ramblers

I think ISU will have more overall talent, but Loyola will have a better team to start the year. If ISU comes together and plays like a team, like they mostly did to end last year, I'm not sure there will be a lot of teams in the Valley that could stop them.

Re: Sports Betting and College Athletics

I think it is important to start a discussion about how the NCAA and schools are going to handle the new Supreme Court ban-lifting of sports betting across the country. While I don't think the pro ranks will be affected much, this might become the absolute wild west when it comes to college athleti...
