I wonder if we can play those games after IRMA does it's damage. The arenas could be flattened. That's the worst damage I've ever seen from a hurricane. I can't imagine losing everything.

I live in the very close to FGCU. North in summer so not there now. I am following close. Eye may pass directly over us. Wind will be issue. Surge should not reach. Very concerned. Can't talk about PR.

They'll just play them in Orlando like they did last year if they can't play in PR. I don't know what Irma did to the city of Fajardo, PR. Irma is expected to be a Cat. 1 by the time it gets to Orlando so it'll be fine by November 15th.

From what I've read PR got pretty luck comparatively. Based upon an imagine internet search the destruction in Fajardo, PR is mostly downed trees and power outages.

Sounds like PR is gonna get hit very hard by hurricane Maria. May end up in Orlando yet.

You do realize that if it's in Orlando it will be because thousands are homeless and numerous dead, right?

The news said it could be four to six MONTHS before there is power to PR. Awful, awful news.

Seems unlikely at this point that they could host a tournament a couple of months away. Not sure logistically, how feasible a quick switch would be with rebooking flights, hotels... for the teams/staff/press and booking a venue. Not to mention all of the fans who may have booked packages.

Ma Nature has been brutal the last couple of months on our hemisphere.

No, due to lack of power and damage to the venue, ...I know the games are at a casino but they are all same boat. Have you ever been to an event at the National Training center in San Juan? I have ,had an athlete competing for a spot on the national team in a non air conditioned building (a/c broken glad they had a lot of windows) and some old equipment, as well , the pool was empty, and a stadium next door was overgrown with weeds and broken appliances, that's why all the events like the basketball classics are at casino's or smaller cities. No infrastructure, same with the power. The casino and old district are nothing like the state of conditions of the rest of the city. The government opened 500 shelters and only 11,000 went to them, nuff said.

Went to the San Juan Shootout in 95. Venue was decent, getting around the area in a rental car was not.

This isn't the San Juan Shoot Out or even in San Juan. It's the PR Tipoff. Fajardo, where the tournament is held is on the east coast of the island. San Juan is on the North Central coast.

Hurricane made landfall on the east side of the island. Good chance most of that town is gone.
