Not the NBA Summer League but the following players will be in the World Wide Invitational July 8-10 in Vegas. It's a tournament for players still trying to get an international contract but didn't make the NBA Summer League.

Chad Lufile- Wichita State (a few years ago)
Rashard Kelly- Wichita State
J.T. Miller- Missouri State
Ben Richardson- Loyola

They'll only keep him around for when they're down by 5 late and need someone to make end of game fouls.

I'll say it again. I think MiKyle actually hurt his NBA chances transferring.

He had no chance either way, but wish he had stayed.

I agree with Baltimore Bird. I think what we all learned was that MM had a really small chance regardless of where he went. But he could have made a big difference for us.

DeVaugn took over offensively in the 2nd half against the Celtics last night with 19 points in 19 minutes. The piece on Denver Stiffs features a picture of him in an Illinois St uni, but says in the body of the article that he played at eastern oklahoma st college.

For sure. Transferring out to become the #2 or maybe even #3 guy on an average at best team isn't exactly a step towards the NBA. He should have spent last summer in Normal working on his game. And the winter leading the Birds to the tourney.

Boy, lots of traitors in today's game of college basketball these days.

If he was my son, I ABSOLUTELY would have encouraged him to explore his options. Under the RULES, he earned that right. I doubt, deep at heart, many of you would discourage your son from being a starter on a P5.

And that end of game situation...it was a bang bang play, and if you've ever played organized basketball, one realizes that the play just as easily could have been a no call and probably should have been.

What was Mikyle supposed to do?? Not guard the play??? The offensive player was borderline out of control when he made contact with MM.

Good luck, Mikyle. I enjoyed you as a Redbird.

Here's the other thing. MM wouldn't have been the best player on our team. Based on last year's stats, he might've been our fourth best player.

Hmmmn...

Despite the zero minutes...who's wearing the Portland summer league jersey??

That would be Mikyle.

He can hang it next to his jersey from Macedonia. I can only speak for myself but I encourage my kids to finish what the started.

In fairness, if he would have been on the team Phil, Key, and Miliks numbers would have gone down significantly.

He would have been our best defensive player, one of the best rebounders, and his offensive would have provided relief and most likely taken away some of the stats from the big 3. When you factor all around play... defense, rebounding, scoring, assists, free throws, and leadership, I think he could have been our best or right there.

I do agree with your previous post to this one. I would have loved for him to stay but with no other seniors, I understand why he explored his options snd ultimately left. Was i disappointed .. for sure. I for one will be rooting for him wherever he lands. While many remember the foul in the NIT, I hope they also recall the two free throws he made to put them ahead, the ferocious dunk against Wichita St, the unbelievable shooting at Indiana St, and the willingness to come back from a knee injury to help his team vs perhaps a more selfish LT choice.

Not commenting on weather he should or shouldnt have transfered!
My opinion and its only my opinion not saying anyone else is wrong but to try and cut off the ball handler with a second or so left on the clock like he is on the baseline isn't a wise move!
Stay between him and the basket not in front of him!!

For the record. I really don't blame MM much at all for the call at the end of that game. It was a stupid, crappy bail out call where an official bought on not even that good of a acting job by the shooter -- reacting to the UCF bench more than anything. 99 times out of a 100 that call is not made. Still think, though he would have been better off sticking with us than going to a whole new coaching staff, teammates and system to have to spend a lot of time adjusting to.
