He’s in the process of applying for a waiver for a sixth year of eligibility with the hopes of regaining the season stolen by injury. In the meantime, he’s going through rehab and continuing to work toward a master’s degree in sports administration.

“It was tough, but like my mom always told me, everything happens for a reason,” Hawkins said. “And I feel like this is a reason. To get my master’s, work on getting my master’s, and handle that.”
ISU has a master's program in sports management. I thought in order to grad transfer, you were supposed to go to a school that didn't offer the program you want?

It'd be amazing if he got a 6th year. He will be 25 in August, and 8 years older than his freshman teammates. Hawkins was starting for his high school team when the rest of his team was either in junior high or elementary school. That's wild. Lofton-esk with less travel.
They pronounce it differently in Boston. So it must be a different program.

Well, he is now playing for a P5, so getting a 6th year will be no problem.

Exactly! P5s run this show....football is indeed the straw that stirs the drink.

Osiris and his foreign teammates protested their Turkish club for consistently not paying up on time. They didn't play in today's game, the team got relegated, and Turkish basketball Twitter is on fire.

I don't know much about Turkish work culture, but the fans rage towards Osiris and the others indicate that getting paid "sooner or later" is acceptable practice.

At any rate, Osiris has likely seen his last game with Trabzonspor.

Just hope O doesn’t go on a midnight express run for Little Debbie Mini-Chocolate Hashish Donuts.

NOT an uncommon issue. Overseas basketball can be a good to great living. Or the trap door can open underneath you. Outside of The League, pro basketball is not all we make it out to be.

That's why if you have a chance to make a NBA roster, you take it. Even getting selected in 2nd round, but not making a team, gives you credibility with a RESPECTABLE overseas team that pays it players like they promise.

Sheesh, sounds like the state of IL paying their debts...

Chad Dollar was recently hired by Tom Crean at Georgia. Not bad money for an assistant.

Dollar has to hold the record for "least amount of time with ISU to be considered a 'former Redbird.' "

I'm not going to disagree with you. I'm not sure he made it to campus after the interview.

Another one of Mullers former assistants gets a head coaching job. Jeremy Ballard will be named HC at Florida International.

He's the one ISU coach that never grew on me. All of his tweets were about VCU and former VCU players while he was here. I know it is very limited information but It seemed like his heart was still at VCU. Anyways, congrats to him.

Agree with you about his tweets. I mentioned that on the old board. Seemed like he never engaged here and was just here ‘cuz he didn’t get the VCU HC job. Was waiting for something ‘better’.
