Ugly wins are still wins, essentially a non-loss.
Id rather have a wake up call like tonight than a loss...use this game the rest of the season

Reminder for ya Mr. Wizard. You brought it up.
Because it’s an illustration of what we are expected to do. If we don’t dance this year Dietz needs to get Muller and Lyons a cardboard box. This program hasn’t danced in 20 years. Every Valley team has been to the tournament since our last visit. I’ve tried to be positive but I can’t any longer. We aren’t very good. Period. It falls on the coach. We just got pounded by 3 freshman from an ovc team, now this. Who is happy with where we are right now?
90% is happy with the Redbirds as is. Watch out what you say. A lot of koolaid is drank around these parts

MY saved Dan's ass tonight. I bet he isn't benched for a loooong time. Hustle or no hustle.
1,000,000 thumbs up. He owes MY big time.
I'm rooting for MY, as always, but NO, he doesn't.
I just meant in reference to this game. As a person it is the complete opposite.

That team lost their first 3 games by 49, 41, and 27 points. We have a long way to go if we want to get blown out in the MVC championship game again this year.

Keep grinding... don't give up. If you're throwing the coach or team under the bus this early in the season, you were looking for the first reason to do so.

there is no win when playing chicago state...you can only lose. Barely avoided that loss but we did avoid it. There are some serious red flags waving all around ISU hoops as ISU heads towards the Grand Cayman.

I'm just glad that Chicago St has no idea how to play with a lead.

Didn’t watch the game, but if we almost lost to one of the worst Division 1 teams in the country with the talent we have on the team.....the only thing you to say is that the team is just not mentally ready to compete. And if they’re not ready to compete then the coaches don’t have control of the team.

Did Tinsley not play the entire first half?

If so, that would basically be 2 games in a row where a SENIOR was benched?

ISU is mentally fragile. They have no chance to win that tournament playing like this.

Over 30 years of season tickets/donations and that might be the most disappointed, angry, and frustrated that I've ever been. Just a disaster right now.

Chicago State is clearly one of the worst teams in the country and we should have lost. I don't care what the final score was, we didn't deserve to win.

No coaching, no discipline, no defense. All we do is throw up a ton of bad shots. Keep shooting 3's no mater what. Even though the other team couldn't stop us all night in the paint or on drives to the basket.

4.2 million Dan keeps saying it's effort. Not sure what effort has to do with it when these guys are allowed to just throw up whatever garbage they want on offense?

All around bad.

Maybe HCDM’s intent was to lull our Cayman opponents into a false sense of security...Kinda like what Chicago State did to us tonight.

We committed 21 fouls. Can’t even guard Chicago St without fouling. This has been Muller culture past couple years. Nobody guards. Nobody moves feet and beats guys to the spot. It has to start with the guards. Keyshawn Evans is a senior. He has got to be better.

11-19 from foul line. Not getting there enough. Not making them.

Tinsley and Evans seriously need to get it together. I know Evans has been hurt but he averaged like 25 ppg for first couple weeks of last season.

Shot selection has also been Achilles of Muller teams. It’s just a lack of discipline.

You just don’t expect this when basically the entire team is upperclassmen.

I'd also like to see fans and coaches get over the idea that this team will be 10+ deep. We have about 8 players worthy of minutes right now.

Our horses need to (re)learn how to play with each other. Defensive chemistry with all these random lineups is awful, and I think we aren't going to be so offensively confident when we eventually play a team that plays defense.

Guys like Gass, Hein, and Chastain should be seeing the court only if we're up by 15+. Guys like Milik, Phil, Key, Boogie need more minutes to develop physical and mental endurance.

You’re right... you have a better feel for who deserves minutes than the coaches who have seen them practice EVERY DAY for months. lol If you can’t do it in practice, you can’t do it in games. It’s pretty simple... thankfully 95% if you aren’t basketball coaches... or you’d just play the guys who “should be good” based on appearance or false expectations. Smh.

Wake up, people!
