Perhaps Norman Dale is available to help teach ball movement and shot selection.
It's funny reading this because I thought the same thing last night. They should take Norman Dale's advice and pass it 4 times first.

You don’t have to be Greg Popovich to see this team is only going to go as far as Yarborough, Evans and Fayne take them! We have added some missing pieces to the puzzle (Copeland and Jefferson)...but we aren’t 9-10 deep! If the big three doesn’t play 30+ minutes...this team isn’t going to the NIT! Yeah, they maybe soft some nights, they may have an off day, but so do we! The bottom line is tha we can all complain about Yarborough...but without him we aren’t as good!
I'm pretty sure I wasn't complaining about Milik, But so far they arnt soft some nights, its been every night. They haven't had an off night they have had several. They play like they are just entitled to win games since they have had so much talk about how good they can be. The one who did the most talking and probably shouldn't have is Muller. They need to play the whole game like they are down 4 with a minute to go no matter what the score is.

"The bottom line is tha we can all complain about Yarborough...but without him we aren’t as good!" … Thanks Greg Popovich

They can never step on a teams neck. I'm not sure if that's because the players get complacent being up by double digits and let the lead slip or if Dan switches up the game plan to try things they need to work on since they're up by that much. Either way it needs to stop.

I agree. Some groups can handle it but this one apparently couldn't. We sucked the helium and now we're still a little bit high.

What I do like about it is Dan truly believes this is his best group, and he's seen enough basketball to be able to accurately make such a statement. Maybe he didn't consider it enough from a mental perspective. Somewhere between summer and now we lost our moxie.

It is interesting. Some teams don't handle success very well. This group seems to have celebrated its success before it even had success!

TIDBIT ALERT
In route to the 1954 state championship, Milan defeated Crispus Attucks High School of Indianapolis which starred future NBA Hall-of-Famer, Oscar Robertson.

Illinois State has six games this season being played on Tuesday, which is the second-highest such total in program history. Only the 1936-37 team's seven games on Tuesday is higher.

Forget the conservative 4 passes crap. This is 2018. Let them Street-ball the whole game. At least it will be interesting to watch.
While we’re at it, if he’s running these guys in practice, as much as indicated they must be in great shape so how about we throw in a “40 minutes from Hell” style of defense?
Hell, it put FGCU on the map a few years ago and worked wonders for Arkansas.
Anything but this chucking 3’s and watching crap.

I'd also like to see fans and coaches get over the idea that this team will be 10+ deep. We have about 8 players worthy of minutes right now.

Our horses need to (re)learn how to play with each other. Defensive chemistry with all these random lineups is awful, and I think we aren't going to be so offensively confident when we eventually play a team that plays defense.

Guys like Gass, Hein, and Chastain should be seeing the court only if we're up by 15+. Guys like Milik, Phil, Key, Boogie need more minutes to develop physical and mental endurance.

You’re right... you have a better feel for who deserves minutes than the coaches who have seen them practice EVERY DAY for months. lol If you can’t do it in practice, you can’t do it in games. It’s pretty simple... thankfully 95% if you aren’t basketball coaches... or you’d just play the guys who “should be good” based on appearance or false expectations. Smh.

Wake up, people!
Play MY 30+ minutes every night or we will not dance. Period. If he plays the minutes he played against Belmont, we lose 60% of our games.
Just because you can do it in practice doesn't mean you can do it in a game.

LOL. If we can't defend at 18' and in, there's no way we can defend 3/4 or even full court.

Way more defensive responsibility the more you extend the defense.

Dan's teams have struggled putting teams away. Wyoming, UNI, and UCF are big ones that come to mind.
