Hold your hats, boys! It's time to move on from the deflating Belmont game.

Tomorrow night should be an easy win. I don't expect Milik to play much this game. I imagine there was a lot of running for all yesterday. I think we will see EVERYONE else get good minutes considering this is a bottom 5 program in D1.

My final score prediction is 85-55 'Birds.

I'm not really that deflated from the Belmont game.

I'm not either. It's a long season and I've heard enough whining already.

Yet you all keep talking about it and I'm the one who is trying to move on. I will not engage Belmont talk from here on out. You should be happy.

Let's talk about the Chicago State game since it's the opener to the Cayman Island tournament. Just this game isn't on the island.

Not sure what we'll see, but here's what would be nice:

* Improved effort on the defensive end

* An 8 man rotation for 30-32 minutes

* >10 turnovers

* 30 shot attempts from Milik and Phil in and around the blocks

* A group of guys, a coaching staff, and over 5K Redbird fans having fun together

* A 40+ point win

Prediction: Illinois State 91, Chicago State 59

It's clear we can score. I'd be surprised if we work on anything other than our defense in practice for the next 10 days or so.

We rarely bury anyone. This will be closer than it should be. Hopefully I am wrong and we somehow start creating a killer instinct and can beat someone by 30+

I've always wondered why not when up by 20 sometimes with Dan at coach. Also, why when up by that much teams always seem to come back. I wonder if the reason is because when they get up by that much instead of telling them to step on their necks he decides to try new things to see if they work or get players comfortable with them in games situations. I don't know.

Actually Jefferson probably should start (Hein and Gassman have a start and Jeff is better than both combined). And, I'll take more Rey but definitely not to start.

I'd also like to see fans and coaches get over the idea that this team will be 10+ deep. We have about 8 players worthy of minutes right now.

Our horses need to (re)learn how to play with each other. Defensive chemistry with all these random lineups is awful, and I think we aren't going to be so offensively confident when we eventually play a team that plays defense.

Guys like Gass, Hein, and Chastain should be seeing the court only if we're up by 15+. Guys like Milik, Phil, Key, Boogie need more minutes to develop physical and mental endurance.

Birds win by 15 after being down 15 in the first half. Muller leaves at halftime and JSNbirds steps up to lead us from the stands and then leads the team for the fight song in the student section 😑
