Happy to see this. He should be at least 6-10 by his sophomore year. We need another big coming in.

Played AAU for Team Thad this season...same team as Trace Young.

As for the scholarships. This fills the "one vacant" one for next year. Obviously if Zion wants to commit we will find a scholarship for him. With Copeland still on the official roster, we have zero scholarships remaining for next year. Keep in mind, Chastain is also expecting a scholarship with the understanding he has to earn it.

Start preparing now for potential defects next year. (This should go without saying every year moving forward.)

Would Copeland be on the official roster seeing that the NCAA has ruled him ineligible to play or accept a scholarship or do any training with the team he is basically a ISU student

Not if he's eligible as a frosh and doesn't do a year of prep school . . . not to mention getting sent home from Spain, being suspended more than once . . .

Yeah, he needs another 10 lbs just to be as thin as Phil Fayne...well it's all you can eat in the dorms!

That's what I was thinking .... Demontay = Deontae.

Sounds like similar skill set. Now just need to add some weight, which it sounds like they are confident he will.

http://www.columbiadailyherald.com/spor ... commitment
“Position-wise, he’s a ‘3’ or ‘4’ guy. He can play the wing, he can be a great stretch-4 for a lot of college programs that like a big guy that can step out and shoot the ball, run pick-and-roll, go off the dribble. He can be a very special guy. He can be a key contributor as soon as he steps on campus. He’s got the potential to be a guy that leaves his mark on a program for several years to come.”
Congrats to Dan and Penny!
