Re: Elijah Video

I don't recall how DM found him but he seems like a determined, hard-working and motivated individual. I love the fire he has for the game and his future. Seems like a quality person. Thanks for posting.

Re: Starting Five

I saw them in Redbird with the recruits yesterday I don't know how many people that have seen them play together Madison is clearly behind Gassman and Tinsley not even close in my opinion. Especially with Tinsley he looked like the veteran on the floor. I like Roomie too big guy can score How is MW...

Re: Starting Five

It's hard to speculate on the new guys since we haven't seen them matched up at this level or even seen any of them play. Fayne and Evans (barring injury) are locks as well as Malik. The rest is tough to guage. I Ilked what I saw from Madison Williams last year. Very quick and good defender. If he s...

This is a tough loss for the team. Need for other guys to step up and fill the void.

Re: Fayne set to lead- Vidette

Great article. I like to see leadership development from Fayne and the way he has embraced it. It looks like he may add some long range shooting to his repertoire. If he could even come close to DH's outside shot then he would have achieved something incredible but I hope he focuses more on his insi...

Re: Hawkins looking at Gonzaga and New Mexico

Great that he finally settled on a place -- he is going from a team that won 28 games last year to one that was:
2015-16: 7-25 (0-18 conf)
2016-17: 9-23 (2-16 conf)

Hey but at least he gets to play against better competition.

Re: 2017 Home Attendance

Arch Madness is still drawing well. I assume that number goes down with the loss of Wichita State. From a basketball geographic perspective I like the Valpo addition but they will not replace the traveling WSU fan base to STL. I was surprised to see that Baylor, ASU, TCU and GT drew less than 6,817....

Re: Hawkins looking at Gonzaga and New Mexico

Interesting a coach allegedly admitted that they didn't understand the transfers of both MM and DH. I have always assumed that it was a given and based on mutual understanding that they were going to transfer -- well, maybe just on the DH side. It seems MM was a surprise. Some on this board have sug...

Re: One Scholarship Filled

We need pure shooters but we have never seen Ike in a season scheduled game. Does he have a pure shot like Matt Taphorn, Jeff Harris, etc? Is it a set shot or can he be moving and stop and pop? With a lot of motion offense you need guys to be able to move through screens and stop and pop. BU used to...

Re: Now that summer workouts are complete

Phil will have to carry a much bigger load than he did last year. He will be targeted more by other teams which is why we need the newcomers to really step up. This is a young team and could be a challenging year where expectations should be somewhat tempered. At least MY has D1 experience so it's n...

Re: One Scholarship Filled

Congrats to Isaac! Although I am sure he worked hard to be in this position, coach must have saw the talent and skill to reward him a full ride. I am looking forward to what he can offer as a player. He does have a great shot from what we have seen/heard and look forward to seeing it during the seas...

Re: 2017-18 Non-Con

Money rules all things collegiate. Benson is right. It is basically a risk aversion maneuver for cost/revenue forecasting. Not a lot of folks around for Thanksgiving coupled with a low cost offering. It is the right thing to do from a cost management perspective but a lousy thing for the fans who wi...

Re: ISU has assistant coach opening

Agree...It was great to have McIntosh while it lasted. I don't think too many of us saw him leaving especially since there was a high potential of making the NCAA tournament and the tradition of players sticking it out to lead their team in their final year with the legacy of being one of the all-ti...

Re: July Update

This year's team must use their speed and quickness to develop that transition game that DM talked about awhile back. If height depth is a scarce resource then driving and running may be the best recourse. This team may be quicker and more athletic than last year's. Throw in the ability of consisten...

Re: Former Redbirds...

I always thought JC could have been a good defensive replacement in the NBA. These days, I guess 'the show' is looking for more all around players rather than niche ones.
