Hein says Muller trusts him to play four different spots on the floor, which rem...

Sugar Bear is a more appropriate nickname.

He was a big fan of the MSU dance liners back in is Valley days, if you know what I mean.
In fairness who doesn't love the Sugar Bears?

Re: Gargoyles @ Redbirds 1-17-18 6 p.m.

The fact that our fans are making up new stats to justify Hein being on the floor a lot is where this team is at right now. Minutes played per turnover. This stat effectively measures who is the best person on our team at being on the court the longest without fucking up. Minutes per turnover: MY: ...

Re: St Xavier game .. DUMP IT !!

I'm amazed any insurance carrier would touch this game on the St Xavier side.

As Recon (who once coached on Spack's defensive staff, so he'd know) put it: "This is dangerous. Somebody is going to get hurt. Bad."

Birds 74
Trees 72

As for Hein, we're 2-0 when he plays 30+ minutes so I'll take more of that! Give Madison time to get back up to speed in limited minutes. And Elijah is a freshman getting his first taste of The Cauldron.

Re: OT: Surfer Guy

On a lighter note, in the midst of some of the sharper comments on a couple of these threads . . . There was a Surfer Guy sighting last night in Madison - John Higgins reffed the Illinois-Wisconsin game. Have seen him on TV a few times doing Big 12, but don't recall him doing a Big 10 game this yea...

Re: Redbird Arena Renovation

The problem with the bluehairs is not that they can't get up in cheer.....but that they are the closest ones to the action, and the students have always been put in the corner. The bluehairs would be happy to stand if it was part of the environment/culture. There's nothing unique to B/N that makes ...

My wife Is the one who suggested going to the Bradley for Valentines Day. Hell yes! Birds will be in red as will most of the crowd. Sounds like a perfect place for a Valentines date! :D
Hopefully a massacre of the maroons to follow what I hear is bbfan's classy pregame soirée.

Re: St Xavier game .. DUMP IT !!

by the way, if we are 6-4, I think we "should" still be playoff team because that would mean we likely went 1-1 non-conf and 5-3 conf .. which would mean we were probably top 4 in MVFC. But we could very possibly be tied for 4th and left out if MVFC doesn't get 5 teams in playoffs and we're tied wi...

Re: Bragging on Attendance????

Yep, BU counts attendance way different that we do. It's not unusual for there to be half of the "sold" tix be empty at the games. I think they are doing a little better this year with actual butts in the seats because they have won all of their home games (see who they have played), but they are n...

Re: Redbird Arena Renovation

Well, there is no way to hold a game at Horton - most if not all of the bleachers are gone. I was told by a facilities person - it would be impossible unless the school would spend a LOT of money - in his opinion, not worth it. For Redbird78 - I can easily tell you - I have been asked and poked in ...

Re: Redbird Arena Renovation

Just sitting causes little wear and tear? Those seats should be mint. also how about rotating the seats from the upper upper bowl. those are probably like new If only that easy, they are different seats. The lower bowl seats have to fold in when the bleachers are retracted. Speaking for someone who...

Re: The valley

Maybe Loyola Chicago would get an at-large bid...since they are a past national champion in 1963 and volleyball champion in 2014+...even though the Redbirds ended up with their best record and 17-1 conference play. I don't think anyone will be in line for an at large from the Valley. Though as a co...

Padded seats  A maintenance guy told me postgame that each padded logo chair for the players and coaches costs $250+. Probably best to maximize our glutes and pad our inner chair. On that note: Spitfire in STL again this year, Hulka? I promise I'll try not to dump my Skee all over your ribs a...

Re: Redbird Arena Renovation

This is great news. The cement moat needs to go. We need to sell beer at the games as well like Southern. I love the idea of enhancing the game day atmosphere. Station a beer vendor kiosk at center court in the middle of the student section. I always thought our moat deserved it own drawbridge...

Re: St Xavier game .. DUMP IT !!

Now that the dust has mostly settled with all the coaching changes, we can all relax on that front .. by most accounts, we seem to have assembled an impressive staff in a very short tiemframe .. kudos to Spack, Lyons, et al. Now it is time to move our attention to the most immediate threat to our 2...

Re: Bragging on Attendance????

I happened to be in Peoria a little later today - driving home, I turned on WMBD 1470 for a little while - they happened to have the Bradley coaches show on - at the time, they were interviewing the ticket manager - they started "bragging" that Bradley is leading the Missouri Valley in attendance, ...

Re: Redbird Arena Renovation

"ISU Athletic Director Larry Lyons said the seats located in the lower bowl are starting to break from wear-and-tear." LOL, you can start by getting all the fat ass blue hairs to stand up to cheer once in a while to relieve the stress the seats are taking. Seriously though, look at a place like Cam...

if it happens, the games would be real interesting when the students were on break Way ahead of you! Working on a "RetiRed Alert" to fill in student section during break.
