Re: Indoor Facility News

I'm fine with the topic. Just keep "it's the dems fault" or "it's the repubs fault" out of it. I apologize for my reference to the soon to be former governor, but most of the ratings analyses reference the failure to get a budget as a reason for the downgrade to university ratings, and then when th...

Re: The List so far 2019

Good news (and "bad news") from the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association all-state team announcement: For our Wisconsin commits, good news: DE/LB Matthew Wedig, 6'4 220lb, from Beloit Memorial was named first team all state by the coaches association as a DE. LB Jeremiah Jordan, 6'2 205 lb, from M...

Re: Indoor Facility News

Ratings went up, or at least the negative watches were removed, when the legislature finally made a bi-partisan effort to move past Rauner's failed scheme and pass a budget last summer. Now that Rauner's out to pasture, we can probably expect the financial picture to improve for the state universiti...

Re: Who would you like to see as the next head coach?

Too early to start the "fire Muller" thread, but one complaint I have is -- why doesn't COACH Muller recruit more players who play like PLAYER Muller? At least ones with some decent talent? Plenty of people on this board have defended "taking risks" with players, and Muller has brought in his share ...

Re: FGCU Season Opener

And all the posts on attendance...geez what do you expect? It’s an early start time on a Tuesday. That said, the crowd doesn’t look too bad on tv. But oh well, just win 😎 Yes, was at the Wisconsin-Coppin St. game last night, about half full, student section half full. They had a T-Shirt toss after ...

Re: First game today for the redbird women!

I'm not sure that I'm going to turn into a rabid fan of women's hoops, but I am at least interested in how they're doing, who's playing, etc. So glad to see them get off to a decent start, a couple of newcomers who can score some, some optimism and a better pre-season prediction, etc.

Re: Win Last 2... are we in?

we are definitely on the bubble. By season end, both SDSU and UNI will be top 10 .. they both have easy games left and should close out well. So 3 of our 4 losses will be to teams ranked #1 NDSU (11-0) by 14 on road, then probably #6 SDSU (8-2) by 10 at home, then probably, #10 UNI (7-4) by 10 on r...

Trying to make some very weak "kool aid" from lemons . . . . St. Xavier has turned around their season and is ranked #18, and playing this weekend to close out their season 8-3 with a conference championship. They lost opening weekend to Marian, to ISU, and then later to #1 ranked St. Francis of In...

Geez, another Wisconsin guy, wonder if Coach Niekamp still has some Wisconsin ties going? https://madison.com/wsj/sports/high-school/football/beloit-memorial-s-matthew-wedig-commits-to-illinois-state-university/article_697270f5-0438-5d9b-9118-29f5a43d4fc2.html Sounds like he could plug in at several...

Can I listen to WZND on my computer? http://wznd.com/ YUP. Just hit play on the bottom of the screen. Also, it is very likely a Learfield thing why JBC is not carrying the exhibitions, though I don't know exactly what specifically. Saturday makes sense as JBC would have to staff all of the games in...

Re: Looking Farther Ahead - Jackrabbits

Well, after 24 hours to mull it over, still doesn't feel good and still hard to figger . . . . . The initial kick in the groin of the long TD pass by the Rabbits on the 3rd play of the game was quickly erased by our long TD play. Okay, we're back in this. Then, both defenses ruled for most of the fi...

Weather is looking good for Saturday's game. Temps should be in the low to mid 50's. Light winds (6 mph). Only about a 10% chance of rain as well.
Yes, tonight's National Weather Service update is partly sunny and 55. Looking decent. Come on, join the Family Day crowd.

Re: Why not St. Louis as the location of the FCS National Championship game??

Two issues for me: Yes, the NCAA does have the marketing, etc. Minneapolis just was awarded the women's basketball final four, and I have read about the "negotiations" that went on to get it there. NCAA was impressed with the Super Bowl handling, etc. Was marking up my calendar for FCS playoff dates...

Re: The List so far 2019

Our recruit from Madison, Jeremiah Jordan, who's listed as a LB and also was on the recruiting sites earlier, was named first team All Big Eight Conference as a DB (listed at 6'2 205 lbs.). So not sure if he's already made the move to DB or if he'll put on some lbs. and stay at LB for Spack, or what...

Re: Why not St. Louis as the location of the FCS National Championship game??

Two questions - does Frisco have a perpetual lock, and if not, why not St. Louis? I've read an article that says NCAA doesn't want to lock into any one site for its championships except for Omaha for DI baseball. They recently ended 25 years in Salem VA for DIII football, and also relocated DII foot...
