Re: Roster changes

Wow. Not sure of the right words - depressing, sad, confusing, whatever. Have always believed Spack could hold them together better than that.

Bad vibes with the new D staff??

Re: Oklahoma State

“Oklahoma State's Recent Round Of Suspensions Forces Program To Fill Roster Spots With Walk-On Tryouts” Not a bad idea... We already have a walk-on who's started for us, Gassman. Put him out there! What about Himmelman from Football team? 6'10, solid player for Geneseo in HS, at least one DI schola...

Both Kane and Hammock have pretty extensive resumes, and time with NIU. Hammock played there too.

Vince Okruch on that list as a TE coach. I knew him at NU. He's been everywhere. Tough life as a college assistant. 35 years bouncing around.
Coach Okruch from his Rutgers bio. Grizzled veteran?? :(

Re: Former Redbirds...

From this morning's Minneapolis Star-Tribune: • Former Gophers forward Reggie Lynch is playing professionally for BC Kalev in Latvia. Lynch is averaging 11.9 points and 5.5 rebounds per game. I know some of us would rather not think of him as a former Redbird, including me at times, but it's interes...

More on the Bisons from thefootballscoop: North Dakota State (FCS): New head coach Matt Entz has announced the additions of David Braun (DC / safeties), Grant Olson (LBs), AJ Blazek (OL), and Noah Pauley (WRs). Re: NIU Coach Leaves

Not worried about the MAC luring Spack, but I am worried about Fitzgerald possibly getting scooped out of Northwestern and Brock getting a SWEET job in Evanston. I'd say you're overrating Spack a little, at least until he gets back to Frisco and/or hits a couple 8 or 9 win seasons back to back. NIU...

Re: NIU Coach Leaves

I recollect Spack having turned down multiple MAC head coaching jobs before taking the job here, but I could be remembering that wrongly. At the time I thought it reflected how difficult he thought it would be to succeed in the MAC. Temple hasn't sucked as badly as they did before they got kicked o...

NIU Coach Leaves

Since they're a future opponent, and he's a former ISU coach, this seems like a legit post here: http://footballscoop.com/news/source-rod-carey-expected-next-temple-head-coach/ Rod Carey is expected to be the next head coach at Temple, sources told FootballScoop on Thursday. We are told the deal has...

Re: New WR Coach

And you know, we have put some WR's (receivers in general) into the pros, it's not like we have no history to build on, or have a traditional ground oriented program that never airs it out. Laurent Robinson, Cam Meredith, O'Shaughnessy. It's a while ago, but didn't' Clarence Collins get some USFL pa...

Re: New WR Coach

I'm not sure what's going on in this thread, why are people dogging ex-coach Anderson? He came, he left. He came from FBS, had a chance to go back to FBS. We've had lots of assistants like that, here for a year. Wasn't Beathard out of work when Spack brought him back? No one dogged him for being out...

Re: Tinsley

Took another look and Tinsley is also the worst FT shooter of anyone who's gotten PT this year, altho he's only shot 4 - 2 for 4 at the line.

Re: Tinsley

I have no explanation, and have always thought Tinsley did some good things, but I don't think he's really ever got his long shot going. The stats say he's the second worst 3 point shooter we have, and if Hein had hit only one more three he'd be ahead of Tinsley too. His best games that I've seen ar...

Re: New WR Coach

Don't mean to dog the guy, but you know, we go from an ex-Big 10 assistant to an Ohio Valley assistant. That's a little bit of a let down. I respect his Wyoming experience, and hope he gets the job done. In Spack we trust!! Mad .... I'm hearing the MN guy was coaching with 1 foot out the door from ...

Re: vs UNI 1/7/19, 7 pm, NBC Chicago

If Bruniga sits this one out I'll be thinking a redshirt might be in store for him. Have there been any recent redhshirts that ISU has benefited from getting a good 5th year from them. I'm sure there are, but I can't think of any. Depends on what your definition of redshirt is -- didn't Hawkins and...

On regional TV for you out of towners. UNI is 1-1 after blowing out BU in Peoria and losing at home to SIU Saturday.
Tomorrow is the 8th, Quinn!! Subject line had me scared I had to rearrange my "busy" schedule for tonight! ;)
