Re: ** SIGNED ** 2019 - DJ Horne, 6-1 PG, Cary, NC

His advanced stats are not hurt by injury as much as they were hurt by the mental aspect of his play. They would look much better if he wasn't forcing it while struggling. For now you have assume he can be coached, but to think he would have gone from that bad of a season to top PG the next is naive.

Re: ** SIGNED ** 2019 - DJ Horne, 6-1 PG, Cary, NC

Him staying would have helped this year's team how? He wasn't going to start. He should have if he was here. He absolutely was going to the main PG. He really put this team in a bind. He had an extremely bad freshman year. -10.5 BPM - .076 WS (yes, negative win share) He had high usage though, so t...

Why pay a FBS school for an FCS Championship though?

Re: NBA Summer League 2018

MiKyle leaving helped both himself and ISU. I like him but MM was always the 3rd or 4th best option at ISU and had the 1st or 2nd highest usage rate. As a freshman he had the worst efficiency and was 4th in usage. He forced action way to much. If he was on ISU last year he would have had a ~28 usage...

Re: Elijah Smoot committed....

So this is 2 pretty big potential impact players we have lost this week. Anyone concerned yet? Horton, yes. But delaying a true FR (Smoot) a year to get their academics in order ... zero concern. Or did you mean someone else ? I would be surprised if he ends up at ISU. I think he is reopening his r...

Re: Keith Fisher, Transfer San Jose State

Are there examples of anybody being granted a 5th year, where a redshirt was used after an injury redshirt? Unless the rules have changed, the injury redshirt has to come second. my grandmother can get a 6th year at this point. its a lot more relaxed from the Bryson days. they just hand out 6th yea...

Re: Wheels... Falling... Off... (And I love it)

They will probably be down a bit next year, but I wouldn't say the wheels are falling off. Overall they will be fine as long as Marshall is there.

Both Oregon and Illinois want him to take the SAT and re-classify.
Man. Take your time. No need to grow up so fast just because a school needs a big.
Isn't he already 19?

Re: Good to go for 18-19 or need more pieces?

I don't understand why everyone here fears Krutwig, Fayne out performed Krutwig. Sure Krutwig will be better next year, but Fayne will still be a bad matchup at the other end for him. You are looking in the wrong place if you think that is why we lost. The "true PG" talk is perplexing as well. Are w...

ISU players always seem to test better than expected at the combine for some reason. Coprich and Robinson had similar performances.

Re: Good to go for 18-19 or need more pieces?

If there are no departures or major injuries next year, then I think this team wins the valley and a NCAA bid. I would like to see a PG added, but that is more about the next year, after Evans has left.

Re: Offense (again...)

More offense would always be nice, but it wasn't really the main issue. That was the highest scoring season since Muller's first year. The problem is we haven't allowed that many points since the 94-95 season though. Surprisingly we only had 11 more turnovers than last year, so that didn't impact th...

Re: 24 Hrs Later

I think you very much underestimate Matt Chastain. You don't get rated 3 stars on rivals unless you can move, create a shot and, more times than not, fly. We don't get a BUNCH of 3 star players at ISU. OE was 3 stars... So was Kaza Keane . . . To be fair to Kaza he did go on to be MVP of his Canadi...

Re: Next season

Basketball is a game of match ups. Against many teams in the valley you cannot play two post players. David is not better than Fayne, and we don't need him to be. David's role is to be a defensive presence off the bench, and in that role he is good. Our fan base seems to think all players should be ...

Re: #3 Illinois State v #6 Indiana State 3/2

This is a worst-case matchup for the Redbirds. Gonna have to play zone the entire game. If Muller plays Yarbrough as point forward in this game we will lose by 15 and he will get stripped 10 times. Hein, Gassman cannot play much in this game. They are totally overmatched on perimeter versus INSU. F...

Keep in mind Pitt best player was a grad xfer to UNC. Stallings and Roy are tight and Stallings allowed that one to go through. You are joking right? That one was well documented, and one of Stallings many bad national publicity moments. Then he made it a story again with post game antics, when the...
