Re: Arch Madness Future

I'm confused, how is a brand new, 10,000+ seat $175M basketball arena in the South Loop not a good venue for The MVC? I'm shocked you suggested this arena. It wouldn't have enough seats for all the ISU alums that you feel would be at the game. How many did I say would come and why do you think it w...

Re: Arch Madness Future

Very glad it is staying in St. Louis. While on the Eastern side of the Valley, Indy would be a fun location if it could be worked out. Chicago doesn't currently have a good venue for the MVC. Re: Arch Madness Future

Opinion on Chicago sites: Allstate Arena: out of the question, old building, traffic issues right next to airport. Sears Center: How many hotel rooms are around that area? Restaurants? I like the size of the building, but would people want to possibly drive 30+ minutes away to hotels. Plus we don't ...

Re: Arch Madness Future

I think there is this big dream that if MVC was in Chicago, there would be tons of ISU students there. Why would they go to a tournament in Chicago when the student attendance is not always the greatest at home games? I agree with several posts about transportation in Chicago and getting to arena. ...

Re: Arch Madness Future

I know this was a big discussion on the old board. I know that St. Louis has faults. I just don't know if the perfect location exists. If others feel different, would love to hear specific locations you have in mind.

Re: Arch Madness Future

I would be very surprised if it was leaving St. Louis. As far as location, attractions, and restaurants, I find St. Louis hard to beat.

Re: 2017-18 Non-Con

I'm not a huge fan of Quincy coming to Redbird, but I understand it.

We don't have access to what the budget is for buying games this year. I would guess that Charleston Southern is getting a nice payday, so ISU does not have to return the trip there.

Re: ISU has assistant coach opening

I'm surprised that we haven't heard anything official about the Yaklich thing yet. You'd think that ISU or UM would make some sort of announcement. Yaklich is a consistent guy on twitter too and he's still showing as a Redbird associate head coach, etc. Maybe this isn't official yet? This is offici...

Re: ISU has assistant coach opening

I would have never guessed Yaklich would get this opportunity. I had expected him to leave when/if Muller got a different job or if he got a chance to be a head coach at another school. I'm sure Coach Beilein didn't expect to lose assistants to Butler and Northwestern. As far as the players leaving,...

Re: ISU has assistant coach opening

Thanks V Boy!

Not sure if many realize this, but Coach Muller has not had the same staff for any of his years as HC at ISU.

Re: ISU has assistant coach opening

At first I was shocked at how late in the off season this was, but it all comes down to the late resignation by Thad Motta in June. Chris Holtman leaves Butler to join Ohio State LaVall Jordan leaves UW-Milwaukee to take Butler job Jeff Meyer leaves Michigan to join Jordan's staff at Butler. Meyer c...

Re: ISU has assistant coach opening

Per various Michigan insiders on Twitter, looks like we officially lost both assistants to Michigan.
