Re: East - West Shrine Game

I saw the fumble recovery as well. Harris badly missed a tackle on the UNI receiver. Not certain this game helped either players value in the upcoming draft. Free Agents? We will see in April.

Re: East - West Shrine Game

I have watched and felt pretty much the same about Keene. He was blocked out of the plays fairly routinely. He got quite a bit of playing time but was not really a factor. Same feeling about Harris. They did not go his way very much. The completion was a good offensive play.

Re: St Xavier game .. DUMP IT !!

If St. Xavier is going to be coming to B/N for a football matchup, it had better be to Illinois Wesleyan. Dump this game is right. It would be more interesting to just play Illinois Wesleyan instead. I would bet we would get a lot of their fans paying to attend at least. I was at the game the last ...

East - West Shrine Game

I am looking forward to watching Devonte Harris and Dalton Keene today in the Shrine Bowl. I looked up the rosters and Devonte is on the West squad and Dalton is on the East. Kind of strange being from the same school and different teams but maybe they just mix them up. I generally don't watch All-S...

Re: Harold Etheridge Returns

Looks to be another great hire by Coach Spack. I also like that these coaches know ISU, have been in Normal before and are looking forward to being a part of the program again. The O Line has some talent and this appears to be a great mentor for those linemen.

Re: 5 Burning Questions for Illinois State in 2018

This article is a few days old but it indicates that Coach Spack's preference is to hire a D Coordinator rather than take that job on himself. He said he has a candidate lined up and hope to have a deal by the end of the Christmas break. He kept is option to take over the job himself open but stated...

Re: 5 Burning Questions for Illinois State in 2018

Maybe so, I have no idea if he will or not but it seems that a few on this board are convinced that Spack with take over as D Coordinator. The only question I would ask is why not announce it now? If Coach Spack has decided to take the reins, and I cant see anybody objecting to that, why not just s...

Re: 5 Burning Questions for Illinois State in 2018

Hatfield has good size and appears to be a very intelligent kid, read his bio on the website regarding his academic performance. His HS resume is pretty impressive but it is hard to really tell from High School to FCS how that translates. Still his senior year he passed for 2,458 yards and 23 touchd...

5 Burning Questions for Illinois State in 2018

I found this article on the Prarie State Pigskin website. Many of these topics have been discussed in various threads on this forum but I thought it was a pretty interesting article and would share it here. http://www.chicagonow.com/prairie-state-pigskin/2017/12/5-burning-questions-for-illinois-stat...

Re: Offensive Coaching Changes

I guess I'm in the minority, but I guess I'm a little confused as to why people think there is some kind of behind-the-scenes conspiracy theory about all the coaching changes. If you look at each situation independently, they all kind of make sense. Yes, losing 5 coaches in a single off season is a...

Re: Offensive Coaching Changes

I miss Demarco Corbin. I read he was dismissed from the team. It's a shame, but you have to trust the coaches on that. He could really run with power though...fun to watch. I agree...I have no idea what the reason for his departure was but i really enjoyed watching Corbin run, except for the two fu...

Re: Defensive Coaching Changes

Miami of Ohio Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk If true....I don’t consider it a “higher level of football” It's FBS. The campus is beautiful. A lot of successful coaches have come from there. I am from that part of Ohio so I have a little bias but I do consider it a step up for Spence. Sent from ...

Re: Beathard back as OC

For some perspective on Beathard's influence on QBs and pass game. I went to the spring game in spring 2014 ... this is before the Natty Run and before Tre Roberson transferred in June 2014. Remember Blake Winkler ? Good kid, good thrower, but a little undersized and not quite ready for speed of ga...

Re: Beathard back as OC

Like virtually everyone else here on the board, I am very excited for the return of Coach Beathard to run the offense for the Redbirds next year. He will be a great benefit to the QBs who have been inconsistent the past two seasons. I would expect to see more creative game plans that take advantage ...

Re: Illini LB Tre Watson and OL Megginson - transferring where ??

Yes you can tell from one year. Minnesota insiders (admin and hi level boosters) RAVE about him. I come from that world. The "antics." Whatever, dude. He's been the same guy all of his life. AMAZES me that people have such a hard time with positive hi energy engaging successful people. Mind bogglin...

Re: Illini LB Tre Watson and OL Megginson - transferring where ??

I know I'm pathetic, can't help myself. Tremendous fan of Fleck. You can't tell from just one year the impact Fleck will have on the Gopher program. I am not a huge fan of the antics he is prone to. It appeals to some and not to others. Same with Harbaugh and a bunch of other coaches. It is not unu...
