Re: ESPN+ and the future of MVFC on ESPN3

Re: ESPN+ and the future of MVFC on ESPN3

I saw the thread on AGS yesterday. I will likely buy the ESPN+ package since if I want to watch the games I have no other option. If ESPN is going to charge for it I would expect the quality of the broadcast to improve. Over the past three years or so of being able to watch ISU games on ESPN3 the qu...

Re: Cam Meredith

It's nice to see that everyone who covers the Bears both on radio and in print seems to agree that the Bears really shit the bed on this one. One guy suggested this means the Bears may still take a WR in the first round (though by trading down- not at 8). I hope Cam has great success in The Big Eas...

Re: Cam Meredith

I figured Cam was gone from Chicago when I started this string. Ryan Pace has not exactly been successful with his personnel moves. I give you Glennon as exhibit #1. I am sorry to see Cam go from the Bears, I thought he had a great deal to offer. Best of luck to him in New Orleans. I hope he does gr...

Re: Redbird Football good, others bad...

The Redbird offense was a mess the last two years under the former coaches. Kolbe had to work in that system and with what appears to have been very little in the way of coaching experience that knew how to develop young QBs. That is all on Coach Spack since the Co-Coordinator concept was his decisi...

Re: Spring practice right around the corner....who is pumped?!!

I have not seen this article mentioned so I thought I would post the link. Coach Spack talks about the competition at QB. Says Malachi showed some good things but has a long way to go. Also talked about seeing what Smith can do following his Redshirt year and that Hatfield is a "good athlete". I kno...

Re: Cam Meredith

Ryan Pace speaks about Cam as he visits the Ravens, Colts and Saints. Coach Nagy speaks highly of him and how he fits into the offensive scheme he is bringing to Chicago. The Bears can match any offer and it looks like unless some other team sinks a significant amount of cash into Cam he will probab...

Re: Spring practice right around the corner....who is pumped?!!

I have seen it before when a coach makes an unexpected roster move and the surprise catches the opponent off guard and for one game or one half it works. How about Kolbe being the surprise? UNI game in 2015. Roberson couldn't throw the ball so Kolbe was the passer. Took UNI awhile to adjust. And th...

Re: Spring practice right around the corner....who is pumped?!!

My point being, if Malachi could throw, he would have done a llttle more in the SDSU game .. and Kolbe would not have played 100% of the NDSU game a week later. Malachi didn't play a down .. because we lost element of surprise. So I assume he needs another year or so development. I have seen it bef...

Cam Meredith

Looks like Cam Meredith may not be heavily in the Bears plans for the future. With the receivers they brought in with Free Agency and potential for drafting more it looks like Cam may possibly be on his way to another team. The NFL is brutal. Last season Cam was going in as the #1 reciever and the i...

Re: Football (All Levels) Attendance

Also if I was in a position to pick, I would say the indoor facility is a higher priority than finishing the horseshoe. The indoor facility would help in recruiting I think and also the product on the field. It is supposed to be a multi-purpose facility if I understand correctly so other sports woul...

Re: Football (All Levels) Attendance

I found all the posts and different points of view interesting. I have seen quite a few posts that criticised the administration for not doing more to get fans in the stands and to improve the game day atmosphere. I have also read some articles that today's college student does not consider going to...

Re: O-Line thoughts

Interesting post Total Red. I also tend to watch the O-Line since on offense it all goes as the line goes. Yes, we were spoiled with Spelman manning the center post for so long. The center usually is responsible for calling blocking adjustments at the line as well so you lose quite a bit if you lose...

Re: East - West Shrine Game

I saw the fumble recovery as well. Harris badly missed a tackle on the UNI receiver. Not certain this game helped either players value in the upcoming draft. Free Agents? We will see in April.

Re: East - West Shrine Game

I have watched and felt pretty much the same about Keene. He was blocked out of the plays fairly routinely. He got quite a bit of playing time but was not really a factor. Same feeling about Harris. They did not go his way very much. The completion was a good offensive play.

Re: St Xavier game .. DUMP IT !!

If St. Xavier is going to be coming to B/N for a football matchup, it had better be to Illinois Wesleyan. Dump this game is right. It would be more interesting to just play Illinois Wesleyan instead. I would bet we would get a lot of their fans paying to attend at least. I was at the game the last ...

East - West Shrine Game

I am looking forward to watching Devonte Harris and Dalton Keene today in the Shrine Bowl. I looked up the rosters and Devonte is on the West squad and Dalton is on the East. Kind of strange being from the same school and different teams but maybe they just mix them up. I generally don't watch All-S...

Re: Harold Etheridge Returns

Looks to be another great hire by Coach Spack. I also like that these coaches know ISU, have been in Normal before and are looking forward to being a part of the program again. The O Line has some talent and this appears to be a great mentor for those linemen.

Re: 5 Burning Questions for Illinois State in 2018

This article is a few days old but it indicates that Coach Spack's preference is to hire a D Coordinator rather than take that job on himself. He said he has a candidate lined up and hope to have a deal by the end of the Christmas break. He kept is option to take over the job himself open but stated...
