Re: vs SIU 2/8

Just asking:

Didn't Hein have half of our points in OT?

Did anyone who saw the CBS SportsNetwork broadcast notice that the Valley is #8 RPI?

Re: vs SIU 2/8

Early in the game, and thus early in this thread, Hein was supposedly a bum for airballing a shot. Later in the thread, he gets no credit for nailing a clutch "3" because he was wide open. I saw other players from both teams MISS open shots from beyond the arc, so no poster should suggest that Hein'...

Re: ISU wins MVFC APR Award .. 3 straight Years

If I'm not mistaken, Jake was announced as a 4.0 student last night at RBA when the halftime festivities included introduction of the Athletic Department Academic Honor Roll. So much for the privacy of academic information. [ LOL ]

Re: Yarbrough

I think Sarge has the right perspective. If the tweet said some "in" the media are a joke, Muller would have been referring to one or more persons; but "some media" is likely a reference to social media, including message boards, where people speculate and opine in a fact-free environment; I'm not d...

Late in the game, he had his only catch for maybe 5 yards.

Re: OT: Surfer Guy

Not that us guys care........because the important things are the ladies' personalities and brains........but Valley dance teams dress WAY more conservatively now than in in the 1980s - early 1990s.

Re: At Indiana State 1/20/18

Sad to say, but highlight of the game might have been Phill shooting the two FTs of Milik when Milik left the game and Phil made both.

I could easily see Indy State winning in St. Louis.

Re: Gargoyles @ Redbirds 1-17-18 6 p.m.

At least a couple of posters should consider changing their user names to Jay Bilas 1, Jay Bilas 2, etc. If the Valley is rated as the #8 conference, that is based on objective criteria developed and employed by people who do this thing for a living. It's unlikely that they put the names of every co...

Re: Favorite Obscure Redbird

Reading about Vince Green's FT prowess reminded me of another Redbird from nearly 40 years ago who probably qualifies as "obscure"........Dave Nussbaumer.

Re: Favorite Obscure Redbird

For me, it was Vince Greene or Brandon Sampay. Green shot like 90% from the line and I loved that. Sampay was one of the most undervalued players in modern ISU history. In the age of the 6'10, 210lb forward, Sampay was 6'7' 250+ and would straight push people around. I loved it. Honorable mentions:...

Re: Barry On Blast

I have often wondered how these rules changes are adopted, There are something close to 350 Division 1 basketball schools. The P5s have to compose a distinct minority. How "democratic" is the voting process? Is there a Committee that is stacked with P5 schools? If it's "one vote for each school," th...

Loser is inching its way toward Thursday night at Scottrade Center. Whatever SHOULD happen, I'm guessing that bradley is as good as Charleston Southern. I hope that MY is focused and can avoid foul trouble. Anyone on here know if Madison will play? We will likely need his defense. Oops...just saw t...

As a bigtime college basketball nerd, tonight I intend to watch (or at least record), a one hour special on the 50th anniversary of the game that put college basketball on the national scene. The actual 50th anniversary day is January 20th, but the special airs tonight on CBS SportsNet. That 1968 ga...

Re: Favorite Obscure Redbird

Someone had earlier mentioned Dale White, one of Donewald’s first recruits. I had a couple of classes with Dale. Nice guy, but at 6'-5" he may have been the worst dunker I saw at ISU. i remember a couple of dunks at Horton Fieldhouse when he failed to "stick the landing" and tumbled awkwardly in fr...

Bradley is such a joke. Given their schedule they should just resign from D I and go to D II like they contemplated a few years back.
So what does that mean if we lose Wednesday night?
