Re: Offered: Kolton Mitchell, 6’4” PG

Quick story............two weeks ago today I was on a non-stop Bloomington- -to-Orlando flight. In the TSA security line prior to boarding in Bloomington, HCDM was in line right behind me. He said that he was flying down there "to look at a couple of kids." It occurred to me that if I had said preci...

Maybe Florida Gulf Coast isn't looking to add another PG. KM is right in FGCU's backyard, but apoarently not recruiting him.

I'll be announcing my bus trip within the next couple of months. Starting a waiting list now. First one that signs up and speaks Italian gets a 5% discount.
Will the bus be equipped with life jackets????

Re: Out Coached and Out Smarted

I wonder why President Dietz isn't spending tens of millions of new dollars to improve Athletic Department facilities. For those of you suggesting that he doesn't give a rat's ass about Redbird sports, do you have inside information on which that conclusion is based? I might not be vain enough to st...

Re: Arch Madness Talk

It’s crazy how inconsistent the officiating has been this tournament. Both ISU games I think the teams combined to shoot over 50 free throws each game and fouls being called all over place. Today the refs just let everyone play a real physical game and wouldn’t blow their whistle at all. Really hur...

Re: vs Evansville (in St. Louis), 3/7, 8:30 PM, MVC-TV [FSMW+/NBCSC]

Before there was a play-in ROUND, ISU lost the league's first and only play-in GAME in 1991. There were 9 teams in the conference..........ISU and Drake were tied for 8th/9th and had to play each other to advance to the quarterfinal round. Drake won 57-55 (I knew that we lost but did not know the sc...

Re: Kindred discusses Donewald era

Also, interesting to read that Bender's success was based on Donewald players, but no mention that Donewald inherited Derrick Mayes, Ronnie Jones, Del Yarbrough and Joe Galvin from his predecessor but failed to make any postseason play. A couple things about that. Donewald and that team were a pret...

Re: The Lou

Hoping that going to St. Louis will start a "do-over" for what was otherwise a gruesome regular season; but I agree that we can expect MY to pick up AT LEAST one offensive foul per game. It used to be that block/charge calls tended to give the offensive player the benefit of the doubt unless it was ...

Re: Kindred discusses Donewald era

Moser had maybe a .400 winning percentage at ISU. There was probably close to zero support to keep him from fans on this board or from fans and alumni in general. I wonder whether the Donewald love would be the same here if he had taken the Arkansas job that subsequently went to Nolan Richardson. Ma...

Re: Booing

There's been a lot of bitching about this season, but as I frequently advised my brother years ago when he was going through a nasty divorce and contemplated doing things to ruin his then-wife's days, if you think you can't make things worse than they already are, you're pretty much a idiot. Turning...

Nobody has nominated Bob Donewald, Bob Bender or Kevin Stallings yet.

All with MVC experience and at least one NCAA Tournament appearance.

Re: Muller and Lyons

My biggest criticism of HCDM is taking the foot off the gas too soon and not finishing the final 8 minutes or so with the same offensive mindset that built the lead.......playing not to lose is causing losses. If we can't nurse a 10 point lead to the finish line with 1:58 to play (at Valpo), we sho...

I'll put an end to this. It's not illegal therefore it's okay. Others don't have to like it. Freedom of speech. End of story.
Yelling obscenities in the middle of a funeral service is not illegal, nor is booing/taunting the deceased in the casket.

Re: vs Valparaiso, 2/5, 7:00 PM, ESPN+

I don't think anyone who saw that crap tonight can comfortably predict that we will get beyond a quarterfinal game in St. Louis. We were dominated on our home court by a team that had lost to 4 consecutive Valley teams and that clobbered is without their best shooter playing tonight. Two days ago, t...

Re: at Drake, 1/30, 7:00 PM, ESPN+

If I was a betting man, I would take Drake and give the 5.5. We are terrible in true road games, and have had trouble shooting the ball into the basket (a relatively important part of a basketball game). We have stunk up Des Moines in recent seasons. Teams will start taking Fayne away from us and m...

Re: Muller reprimanded

Maybe he should have called a timeout, walked a few feet out on the court, and just stared at Jannsen: most of the home crowd would get it, but the sequel could never live up to the original.
