Re: Muller and Lyons

My biggest criticism of HCDM is taking the foot off the gas too soon and not finishing the final 8 minutes or so with the same offensive mindset that built the lead.......playing not to lose is causing losses. If we can't nurse a 10 point lead to the finish line with 1:58 to play (at Valpo), we sho...

I'll put an end to this. It's not illegal therefore it's okay. Others don't have to like it. Freedom of speech. End of story.
Yelling obscenities in the middle of a funeral service is not illegal, nor is booing/taunting the deceased in the casket.

Re: vs Valparaiso, 2/5, 7:00 PM, ESPN+

I don't think anyone who saw that crap tonight can comfortably predict that we will get beyond a quarterfinal game in St. Louis. We were dominated on our home court by a team that had lost to 4 consecutive Valley teams and that clobbered is without their best shooter playing tonight. Two days ago, t...

Re: at Drake, 1/30, 7:00 PM, ESPN+

If I was a betting man, I would take Drake and give the 5.5. We are terrible in true road games, and have had trouble shooting the ball into the basket (a relatively important part of a basketball game). We have stunk up Des Moines in recent seasons. Teams will start taking Fayne away from us and m...

Re: Muller reprimanded

Maybe he should have called a timeout, walked a few feet out on the court, and just stared at Jannsen: most of the home crowd would get it, but the sequel could never live up to the original.

Meanwhile, in the face of what is said. http://www.wglt.org/post/redbird-rising-reaches-135m-goal-sight Great point Quinn! The academic side shows that fundraising for Illinois State is very possible, the athletics side consistently drops the ball, hence the growing apathy. Great point T.T. If Athl...

Re: @Valpo 1/2/19 7pm

Thought the team played hard with some spark and decent defense, but whenever HC Muller takes the air out of the ball....it's a sure loss. Saw that coming from a mile away. Keep attacking the rim and make Valpo catch up....noooooo....let's stop being aggressive on O and just kill time. It's a sure ...

Re: @Valpo 1/2/19 7pm

I could be wrong, but think the lead was still 10 with 2 minutes to go against a bad Valley team. It seems they made two FTs with 1:58 left to make it 8. No excuses. I was listening, not watching, but refs may have made bad calls but didn't miss our clutch free throws or cause us to give up a reboun...

Wow - that is big news for Klieman and K-State. Makes sense. Not good news for ND State.
My prediction is that the Bizon won't miss a beat; it will just be a new head coach who wins the next MVFC championship.

What are the chances that as many as 20% will participate in "white out"? It will be more like "white punctuation mark."

Re: Lovie Smith gets a two year extension with the Illini!

The "be patient," "growing pains while rebuilding with underclassmen" rationale made some sense at first, BUT now I see freshman QBs on other teams leading their teams to bowl-eligible status and a freshman running back rushing for 300 yards against the illini. If other teams' underclassmen are bett...

Re: ESPN+

Just wanted to watch OT and it cuts off following the time out after Copeland hits the two FTs with 2.8 to play. Bummer. I wanted to watch that ridiculous 4th foul call on Phil when he was going up for an offensive rebound, had no one in front of him and was called for over the back. . That was rid...

Champaign News-Gazette published its annual All-State selections Thursday; ISU recruit Balz from Lincoln-Way was one of five QBs listed, and two of the Five were from schools of Class 3A or 2A competition levels.

Re: FGCU Season Opener

Hein getting torched defensively. What game are you watching?? Hein has shut down Cheatham all game long and caused numerous turnovers. Come up with something new. I think that I have outgrown the simplistic conclusion that Hein doesn't belong on the floor of a D-1 basketball game. Will he ever be o...

5 point swing with Gassman’s NAIA athleticism missing a bunny

We struggled yet led the last 30 minutes. I'll take it and happily not read the NIT talk that usually accompanies game 1

1-0
But is it too soon to begin discussion about securing a Top 6 seed heading into St. Louis???
