Re: Closing the Book on 2018-19, Looking towards 2019-20

ADunk is quiet. We have a lot of Bad @$$ SOBs...too bad they can’t put the ball in the hoop. Thanks Muller! I don't like the terms because it doesn't seem worth it and a night a the Pub is about $15. But yeah, I'll take the free meal and drinks from 85 if Gobirds85 ever comes back to campus.....

Re: Closing the Book on 2018-19, Looking towards 2019-20

What odds do you give this? I'll bet the Birds won't be playing on Thursday night in the MVC Tournament in 2020. How about a night at the Pub? We can celebrate the glorious conclusion of year 8. And then you have to wear a bu shirt and profess your undying admiration for the GREGGGG. Deal? ADunk is...

Lyons will keep his job and we will be playing on Thursday again.

Re: MVC Tournament

It looks like the top 8 (of 11) make the tournament. It looks to be single elimination for the 5-8 seeds, and double elimination for the 1-4 seeds. All games will be on ESPN+. All-session tickets are $40 for adults, general admission. You get potentially 13 games for that price. It seems the champio...

Re: Closing the Book on 2018-19, Looking towards 2019-20

Wasn't aware they were having this event. I went last year, but had not heard that an event (or date) had been set for this year. Maybe more people would attend if they were aware it was happening (or maybe the athletic department only wants a select few). I'm not sure they had a public event last ...

Re: D1 Transfers of Interest

So is Gilyard a PG or not? You guys seem to disagree on it. I haven't seen him play in person, just going off the numbers Sports Reference. Career he has averaged 11.3 points, 1.7 assists, and 2.2 turnovers. That's why I didn't call him a PG. Those numbers would tell me he played off the ball more ...

Re: Jefferson Transferring

Interest from Albany, Colorado State, Nevada, Washington State. He'll also visit Wisconsin-Green Bay on Wednesday. I wonder if he'll get any sort of waiver or just be sit 1 play 1. It'd be hard to believe he would get a waiver, but I can't be surprised with anything the NCAA does.

Re: 2019 Thomasville (GA) C Titus Wright

Visited Western Michigan over the weekend. One thing that may be bad about getting a kid like this...he seems to have a handler. His AAU coach seems VERY involved with his recruitment. Isn't that the case more often than not these days? Yes. AAU coaches are often very involved. The ones who are lou...

Marcus Cohen- 6'4 SG. Tranfer from Mercer. Sit one play two. He has a connection to Rey. Played in 29 games this season, starting 17, and averaged 21 minutes per game. He averaged 4.6 points, a steal, 2 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 2 turnovers. He was not a 3 point shooter at all. He attempted two 3-p...

Re: D1 Transfers of Interest

Nana Akenten, a 6'6 wing, has announced he is transferring from Nebraska. We offered him out of high school. He is originally from Bolingbrook and could definitely play the "hardship" card and be immediately eligible. He played in 28 games with 2 starts, averaging 4.3 points, and 2.5 rebounds in 13...

Re: Derrick Cook juco PG

I'd be a little surprised if we didn't get him. As I said a few days ago, I just have a feeling about this one. I'm not a fan of how its all playing out with the top 3 and everything, but that is todays recruitment game. Human natures says he probably knows where he is going already, and is just doi...

Re: Signing day

Spring signing period is always slower and doesn't have the fanfare of the first day. We didn't know about MY transferring until May for instance. There's quite a buzz around many of the Valley teams' offseason pickups and recruits, but the only news I've heard from our program is about an online a...

Re: Milik- Portsmouth Invitational

Milik's team loses game two as former Woffard guard Fletcher McGee hits a three at the buzzer over Milik.

Milik had a tough day scoring 6 points on 1-9 from the floor. He started and had three rebounds, five assists, and ZERO TURNOVERS in 24 minutes of play. Milik is 10-10 from the FT line so far.

Milik- Portsmouth Invitational

He opened the touranment with 11 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists in 27 minutes off the bench. His team plays again at 3:15 this afternoon. This tournament can often get AAU-Street ball like with everyone trying to show out, but the scoring on his team was pretty balanced with three players scoring...
