Re: So how are we feeling now?

Great post / thread, Redbirdwarrior. Now that you've summarized the month of May, I'm feeling much more optimistic heading into next year. [emoji109]

Re: Antonio Reeves to ISU

I'm not sure what I like more about this news: The player and his skill-set, or an opened door to CPL basketball and Simeon HS.

Way to go, HCDM and staff! Welcome, Antonio!

This thread and last year's season have something in common. Unmet expectations.

Re: Matt Hein leaving

Best of luck to Matt wherever he lands. As far as I'm concerned, he's a Redbird for life. I always felt he was punching above his weight class, but he gets all my respect for showing zero fear in the league and in the face of criticism from our desperate fan base. He also did some things on the cour...

Re: Abdou Ndiaye

I've seen the kid up close a few times, he is not your traditional central African body type. He seems to have more weight to him than I expected. I am less interested in his current practice FG% and more interested in his current weight. If he is at 220-230, we are in pretty good shape. From YT hi...

Re: Signing day

Spring signing period is always slower and doesn't have the fanfare of the first day. We didn't know about MY transferring until May for instance. There's quite a buzz around many of the Valley teams' offseason pickups and recruits, but the only news I've heard from our program is about an online a...

3 against peer high level mid-majors or low level power 5. Teams that could potentially be tournament teams. Need 3 games against Belmont's, Lipsombs, Furman, BYU, Nevada, SDSU, Penn State, Missouri, Georgia, Vandy, etc.... You'd think the high major MM conferences would work together. If they did,...

Re: Elgin on MVC Scheduling

Those remarks reek of the things currrently holding the Valley and ISU back from national relevance. These things include, but are certainly not limited to, ad campaigns like "your hometown team," Casey's general store advertising, Bob Morris, and our conference getting leapfrogged by peers while El...

Interesting tweet, but I'd rather wake up to a tweet welcoming a 4-star recruit or something remotely optimistic about our basketball program.

Re: BU disgraces itself, telling longtime PJS beat writer 'You don't promote the Bradley brand'

With BU being the only ILLINOIS school in the NCAA....the news gazette suggested the teams that the illini faithful should be rooting for. I read through it...and maybe the list can be evaluated in a different manner...but the last team the beat writer suggested to root for....was po' ol' BU, espec...

Re: BU disgraces itself, telling longtime PJS beat writer 'You don't promote the Bradley brand'

I had a back-and-forth with another RBF poster a few months ago. We disagreed that Wardle was Gregg's second coming. I told him to wait until they had a winning season, and then we'd see his true character on display. This article IS Brian Wardle, sir. Petty and arrogant. Look familiar? Sent from my...

Re: Worst Performace Ever?

No way.

The 30 point championship blowout loss to Drake awhile back was WAY worse. We'd have secured an at-large with a modestly respectable performance. Expectations were higher for that game too.

Leave it to our "star" to blow my under bet with a flashy dunk at the end followed by a hulked up stare down after. A microcosm of the entire season.

Good riddance, 2018-19 Illinois State basketball.

Nic Moore gets that honor. He commanded the floor so well towards the end of that season, especially during the NIT run at the end.
