MVFC with two in Semi's

Once again the MVFC is showing much more strength in the playoffs than those teams from the East. ND State destroyed Colgate 35-0. SD State won at Kenneshaw State - who was ranked #2 in the polls - and was a #4 in the seeding. Jacks win 27-17 in a rainstorm - steady rain the entire game. The Committ...

Re: Indoor Facility News

I completely agree with Virginia Redbird - the Admins can say they want to see the football team make the playoffs every year. However, they do very little to NOTHING to make it happen. It is very frustrating. We have three high schools in B/N that do more to facilitate winning football programs tha...

Wow - that is big news for Klieman and K-State. Makes sense. Not good news for ND State.

Re: Indoor Facility News

Anyone asked Spack? I know the Pantagraph would not, but maybe the Vidette would have a student reporter to ask Coach Spack that if an Indoor facility is not likely, would an inflatable bubble be acceptable? Also, it would have helped to keep the interest at a higher level if the team would have won...

Holm signs 10 new recruits

Article to today's (Saturday, Dec 8) Pantagraph on Coach Holm signing 10 new baseball recruits - all from out-of-state, including a catcher from Hawaii plus Jake Zenger - son of former ISU AD Sheahon Zenger.

Patty V's husband is the long-time Executive Director of the St. Louis Visitors & Tourism Bureau and friend of Doug Elgin - no coincidence why she continues to maintain her position.

Re: 1979

I agree - a heartbreaking loss. I believe that was the closest game Indiana State had that year until the National Championship game vs Michigan State. Side note - notice the Chief during the introductions. Even though they did not show them in that video, I remember the Indiana State cheerleaders a...

Re: Frustration

Frustration - well, that is a part of being a Sports fan of any team at any level. There are frustrated fans even for teams that win a World Series, a Super Bowl or the Stanley Cup at the pro level, win a championship at either the college or high school level. It is a part of life - who does not ge...

Re: ISU At-Large Bids

The Valley was much stronger back in the 80's with several teams consistently in the Top 20 (now Top 25) - more opportunities to play "stronger" teams. Also, recruiting was different - did not have near the influence of AAU coaches and agents.

Re: 12/1 Valley games

UC Davis looked a lot like the former EIU offense - they wanted to snap the ball every 15 seconds. They had one really good receiver - 6' 4". UNI just had a lot of struggles on the offensive side of the ball.

Re: Ole Miss Pregame Event - Redbird Rally

Depends on your definition of "fair". Making it like a lottery is a very strange way of doing it - no effort involved. How many scratch-off tickets do they have? I would be willing those are limited to - yes, to the first XX number of people will get a scratch off. Then what the heck is the purpose?...

I have no "axe" to grind. I am a former Letter winner, have been a Redbird Club/WSF member since 1992, basketball season ticket holder since 1992, and football since 1997. But, to think the ISU Athletic Admin is doing a good job - I would strongly disagree. They are average at best - very nice peopl...

Re: 11/24 2pm CST Vs. Lindenwood Redbird Arena

Going into the game, I was going to count Stupid Passes and Dumb shots - first half I got 8 and 4, second half was better at 4 and 3 - for a total of 12 Stupid Passes and 7 Dumb shots. Of course, I did not have a category for mindless dribbling into a crowd to lose the ball - that was 4. Although Ga...

What at BS excuse for not publicizing the Alumni basketball game. That reeks of Leanna Bordner type mentality and the other admins of her ilk. Yes, all sports and athletes are valuable and work hard - no question. However, there are only a few that generate REVENUE and DONATIONS - those are your bre...

I can easily say - most, not all, financial institutions specifically quantify the investments in any entity related to or that receives either all or a part of their funding - direct or indirect, from the State of Illinois. Based on the levels, whether it may be a concern. Thus, most institutions h...

Re: Redbirds vs Augustana

The careless with the ball is a lack of discipline. You do not just turn that on and off. No question about talent on the floor - the biggest problem last year? Turnover and offensive discipline. We win will a lot of games just with our talent - however, it is the games against good teams and close ...

Re: Looking Farther Ahead - Jackrabbits

We should be looking for a new AD anyways, but if they don't make the playoffs because of the St. X game, Larry should be given his walking papers immediately. Spack doesn’t schedule who he wants to schedule? Pretty sure Dan does most of his own scheduling. RedbirdSoxFan - this was already discusse...

Good for Sean!! I have had numerous conversations with Sean over the years - he is a nice professional, young man, who wants to succeed and promote Redbird Athletics. I firmly believe he learned from the 25,000 mistakes Matt Lyons made.

However, I have had friends, neighbors, and co-workers who have had many issues. Another item - those scanners for tickets - terrible. The las...

Re: Why not St. Louis as the location of the FCS National Championship game??

I could care less about empty seats - makes zero difference to me. I look at the problems with ticket availability - that is a MUCH bigger problem. Take that out of the equation. Then second is playing surface - the field in Frisco is terrible for football. It has far to much of a sandy base - that ...
