Re: Coaches show

I was listening. He said he arrived on campus his freshman year and went over to play some pickup ball with the other players. I believe he said Jamar was a freshman too, who he didn't know real well. But in the first scrimmage Jamar was talking trash to the vets right from the get go ... but he ba...

Don't want to really start a new thread for this, but what is the Taste for Rebirds like? Never been to one, but do they have some good and interesting varieties of food? Definitely thinking about going this year...

Re: Bragging on Attendance????

I wonder how there weeknight attendance is affected by the starting time? Like do we get a lot more fans for a 6pm start, vs a 7 or 8pm one? I know TV scheduling has something to do with it. But even a Saturday night 9pm game makes me wonder how many people stay home because it's too late for their...

Re: At Indiana State 1/20/18

I think WT can and will play a lot better. He just looks like a D1 player when he's out there. If there's one player that has a lot of untapped potential it's him. The fact that he usually shoots well in practice means it just a mental thing. His form looks good to me when he shoots, it just doesn't...

Re: Transfer - LB Paul Engram

Watching his HS highlights he looked bigger than 205 lbs. Kinda reminded me a bit of Tyree Horton. If he can play anything like Tyree then he's a big plus. Both are big hitters.

Re: At Indiana State 1/20/18

I question Dan giving one to Gassman. Especially when he already took Hein in the package deal. That’s two busts Dan knowingly put into his guard positions. Those rides are precious. Can’t keep wasting them. I said our grad transfer was a wasted scholarship too. And he ends up quitting. Gassman got...

Re: At Indiana State 1/20/18

Evans, Williams, Tinsley, Ndiaye, and Fayne starting. Wonder what Yarbrough did to get sent to the bench??? He doesn't play like Hein. :) I was over in Peoria yesterday watching the football games. Some Bradley fans were grilling me about that 'White Punk' we have playing for us. Apparently Matt go...

Re: Redbird Arena Renovation

They need to learn how to fill the lower bowl seats before they start replacing them!! Exactly. Whoever said 10,000 is the perfect amount is crazy. I’d prefer 6,000 and pack the place. Once we establish a long run of sold out games we can think about adding more seats. The original design of Redbir...

Re: Redbird Arena Renovation

Question: If they were going to need to move a season or a few games from RBA to complete a renovation, what about bringing games back to Horton for a month, 2 month or season? We have already spoken about the smaller crowds, well if you could rebuild the grandstand and play some games in there, it...

Re: Redbird Arena Renovation

I want to see them put a giant fake bird's nest on top of the scoreboard, with a couple gigantic Pterodactyl sized eggs in them. So when they say 'Defend the Nest' it will actually mean something. With that and 10 cent beer nights we'll be well on our way to making the games more fun.

Re: MVC Game 8

What I'm rooting for: Illinois State (We got a big monkey off our back winning by a bunch in TH last year, but this is not last year's team. We'll need Madison. He did some work on their guards in round 1.) MO State (doesn't really matter) Evansville (already beat BU by 20+, different game at home)...

Re: Redbird Arena Renovation

Padded seats  A maintenance guy told me postgame that each padded logo chair for the players and coaches costs $250+. Probably best to maximize our glutes and pad our inner chair. On that note: Spitfire in STL again this year, Hulka? I promise I'll try not to dump my Skee all over your ribs a...

If St. Xavier is going to be coming to B/N for a football matchup, it had better be to Illinois Wesleyan.

Dump this game is right.
It would be more interesting to just play Illinois Wesleyan instead. I would bet we would get a lot of their fans paying to attend at least.

Re: Gargoyles @ Redbirds 1-17-18 6 p.m.

I’m starting to turn into a fan of Matt Hein and Isaac Gassman. They may not be the flashiest players, they may not be the quickest players or have the prettiest shots but they hustle. There’s something to be said for blue collar players who don’t necessarily have the physical attributes to dominat...

Re: Gargoyles @ Redbirds 1-17-18 6 p.m.

If David can hit from 12-16 that would do wonders for his game. He still needs to learn how to set screens though. According to the coach, DN played just like he was playing in practice before he got hurt. So should be good news going forward. Hit a couple of jumpers from the same spot. Hard to sto...
