Re: Muller's Summer Press Conference

It's too bad Keith Fisher can't play this year. I think the only weakness is if Phil gets hurt. Other than that I expect us to rain 3's on other teams. I'm picking Josh Jefferson as somebody that will surprise us...

Re: Muller Math

With all the guard talent we now have, I don't see Hein playing much next year. But when he makes the odd shot or two it will always bring a smile to my face. He's definitely a good person and works hard. I know the coach always appreciated that.

Re: Turf Updates

The field glistens. wondering if the black pellets will temper how sharp the colors look right now ... probably going to a bit. I think it would be a miracle if it didn't. You can always see those pellets flying around when somebody's really moving... Maybe they'll invent a clear pellet someday...

Re: Muller's Summer Press Conference

On Elijah - "Whatever he chooses, he needs to get better this summer". Hmmm He said that about every player. It's every player's job to get better over the summer no matter if they are on campus or playing on a national team. Plus one of the major things they work on in the summer is weight trainin...

Re: Scholarship Matrix

Well, now with Hein off scholarship next year that makes things a lot better on the scholarship front. I wonder if Hillsman will be on scholarship next year while he sits out? His signing kinda had me miffed...I mean he'll only get to play one year, and with the logjam we currently have for next yea...

Re: 2019 - Chris Payton, 6-7/205, SF, Bloomington, IL

So last year he got offered by Illinois. He verbally committed to us, then decommited. From what I know, U of I hasn't offered again? Or does he still have that offer? Just wondering why they wouldn't still want him?

Re: Game Times Announced

Ugh. That SXU game is still on there... I'll be at Maggie's till about 5:45 then wobble the 20 min to Hancock. :text-+1: That's exactly what we would expect from a Redbird Warrior! Be sure to try the sheppard's pie sometime .....it's awesome. I love the night games, especially earlier in the year w...

Re: The List so far 2018

Seems to have missed his senior year of HS to injury. Redshirted first year at Iowa, then injured again last season. That's quite a bit of missed time to practice/play and improve. Wasn't going to get playing time at Iowa, so we'll see how he develops here. Should have three years to play for the B...

Whew! When I saw 'Phil Fayne' as a new topic I about crapped myself. Figured he was transferring or something.
Thanks!

Re: 2019 - Chris Payton, 6-7/205, SF, Bloomington, IL

Not sure about NCAA rules on recruits playing against current college players during the summer. Did Payton play in pickup games against the Birds last summer? If so, will he be doing the same this summer? Would really help to get him close to the recruits we have coming in this year, which could h...

Re: Davontae Harris

I think he would of went higher coming out of his Junior year...but I'm glad he cashed in nicely. Not sure what happened to our pass defense last year. Some days we couldn't stop anything, like at SIU or NAU.

Re: Turf Updates

so white lettering, but outlined with thick black line .. the contrasts look great. Noted pellets are not yet spread. As per usual, once we finally decide to spend money, we usually do things right .. Hancock 2.0, jumbotron scoreboard, and now turf ... all way overdue, but all done very well. can't...

Re: Scholarship Matrix

Is there a limit to the number of players we can keep around if they agree to no money? I guess they would be called 'preferred walk-ons'. I wasn't sure if there was an overall roster limit...we all know about the scholarship limit. I'm not looking forward to having any more of our current players m...

Re: Rumors starting already

Ok so here is how I see this going down. Chastain, Gassman and Romine all pay their own way. All three will get scholarships next season. Hein will graduate early and grad transfer work two years remaining and get his master's degree. Romine owes Dan for not burning him a year once NCAA rules. You ...

Re: Keith Fisher, Transfer San Jose State

Better to have too many players than not enough. Also better to have enough D1 quality players to better compete for championships. Welcome Keith! A 3* from south central LA. Sounds like a talented and tough young man. Plus all those good players to practice against each other. "Steel sharpens stee...

http://goredbirds.com/news/2018/5/8/mens-basketball-redbirds-add-san-jose-state-transfer-keith-fisher-iii.aspx Unless I missed it, the article didn't say how many years he has left to play? Re: Rumors starting already

After we signed all those guards the coach said he was trying to add another big. The fact that he added two makes me wonder. I'll assume Fischer was too good to pass up, or maybe there's something happening behind the scenes that made him add another. All I know is we are few players over now. Shou...

Re: Keith Fisher, Transfer San Jose State

Another Big. It looks like last season he played as a RS freshman. 6'8 215. Only player at SJSU to start all 30 games last season averaging 10.4 points and 6.3 rebounds. He was the No.2 PF in the state of California when he signed his NLI in 2015 and he's from LA. Tough to see how he won't lose a y...
