Re: QB Competition update

After watching the scrimmage yesterday - it was clear to me Davis was going to get the nod - IF the coaches were fair. Kolbe - Telling play for me - Kolbe had a receiver about 5 yards behind the defense, breaking straight down the middle of the field - over them by several yards. Terrible throw. Pu...

He isn't coming here to sit the bench!
Boom
Loved the bomb at the beginning of the scrimmage. He looked pretty poised back there. I can only imagine how much he'll improve once he really gets the hang of the offense.

Re: Early workouts

I got a chance to watch some of this mornings practice. Davis is goooooood. Kolbe appeared to still be running with the 1's. Davis had a Roberson-like read option where he put the ball in Smith's stomach, Smith took a few steps and David pulled it out and went the other way. Also had a dime to a TE...

Re: Hancock Southwest Entrance

Who gets the honor of treading on it first? Will they crack a champagne bottle over it? They should name it after one of our greats...Doug Collins court ... etc. I'm getting giddy thinking about it.

Re: Position changes

Hatfield is an interesting move .. I think this kid clearly wants to play offense. We could use a speedier tailback type .. but why not try him at WR. Hadden is an surprising move .. very disappointed to see Hadden move from WR to LB .. was hoping he was one who could have been a diamond in the rou...

Come on Timmy! It's not just your ordinary sidewalk. It's looks to be at least a double wide.!

I hope Barajas plays up to his potential this year. I was pretty hyped when he transferred here from Notre Dame.

Re: Are we gonna be scary good?

Saw Milik yesterday at the soccer game. He's so slim I really thought it was one of our new players. Hope he doesn't pushed around in the paint this year. Also saw Abdou Ndiaye. He was juggling a kids soccer ball with his feet. The ball was no bigger than a baseball and he made it look easy. It's ob...

Well, if he has to sit out then I hope he can put on 30 lbs during his 'off year'. Last year I was dying to see Copeland play, this year it looks like it will be Abdou. There will be a bunch of new faces playing for us next year I guess.

Re: Early workouts

Davis will see action the second half of the first game. He will be starting by week 4. Listen to Coach's press conference. He gushes about him and then says "oh, and Kolbe is playing well too". Davis will get a chance somewhere early in the season. He just has to seize the opportunity and literall...

No. Hey Adunk, When is the drop dead date for this? Or do they already know he won't be eligible. I heard when Hawkins & Mac had that happen to them they weren't allowed to train at all with the team. That would really suck for Abdou, who probably needs more of a support group given he came from an...

Officially enrolled in school and added to the team roster. Does that mean he is cleared to play? No. Hey Adunk, When is the drop dead date for this? Or do they already know he won't be eligible. Re: Are we gonna be scary good?

I wish we could fast forward to November. I'm ready for some hoops. This article stated a lot of things we already know. I saw Milik recently and I think fans will be surprised with his build. He looks thinner. Not that he was doughy or anything, he was a hard 230 last year. He looks like he's drop...

I don't see that mentioned or implied in the article. was just commenting on the comment above that post. Havent even read the article yet. Re: Birds Picked 5th in Preseason Poll

5 MVFC teams in top 25 is the rule'..... Don't forget, playoffs usually include 3 or 4 teams that don't belong in top 20 or even top 25. Parity could end being the biggest issue MVFC faces this season ... Biggest surprise in MVFC will be our offense .. :text-+1: Still, as a fairly long-term Redbird...

Checking the roster stats between last year and this year, Taylor went from 200 lbs to 220! So that should make a big difference. I doubt many of those new pounds are fat.

I have more faith in the Bart Simpson rankings
Would you have rated Illinois State better than #64?
Copeland will definitely average more than 4.8 PPG
He should average better than that per half.
