Re: Top 30 All-Time Illinois College Coaches!

Stallings did great for us here but I'm not sure it as big as accomplishment as what Collins is doing for Northwestern. Stallings had a much better record here but I think NW was a bigger hill to climb. I think I would have put Donewald on the list before both though. Up to this point Collins has n...

Re: Next year....will be a great season

I think we should check out the Baker kid a QB from Rochester, IL high school. Seems he can run our offense and he's mobile with a solid arm. Committed to siu https://twitter.com/nelsonnellyfam5/status/941522344698314757 Enjoyed watching him play at Rochester the last two years. Would have loved to...

If their stress fractures are like the ones that have plagued the Redbirds those 4 weeks will be more like 8-10.
I'm sure Coach Muller has visions of the results of Skip Schaefbauer playing with a stress fracture in the 1998 MVC Tournament. I know I do. Was not a pretty sight.

Re: Top 30 All-Time Illinois College Coaches!

Donewald was a great coach. His teams played tenacious defense. Think of those glory years in the early 80s and how good we were. Our conference was tough back then. Remember Tulsa and Wichita State with Cliff Livingston, Aubrey Sherrod, and Xavier McDaniel? Yet our guys held their own. So impresse...

Top 30 All-Time Illinois College Coaches!

Chicago Tribune did an article on the top 30 all-time College Coaches in Illinois. Chris Collins is on the list-Kevin Stallings is not. What? Are you kidding me?

BTW, anyone catch that Boston College beat Duke? I realize Hawkins is done...but that's why he went there. Upper level games every night, packed houses, TV and media exposure. I realiz that's an indictment on our program... Hawk may have left to play in a bigger conference along with the greener pa...

Re: **VERBAL** 2019 - Chris Payton, 6-7/205, SF, Bloomington, IL

Many rankings are projections, and not necessarily an indication of how "good" a player is at that point. Okoro is probably higher ranked because of his height and athleticism. You can't teach those two things. Payton is probably more polished because he grew up around his older brother. That happe...

Re: **VERBAL** 2019 - Chris Payton, 6-7/205, SF, Bloomington, IL

I didn't see the Coach there. I was up high in the rafters though, on the visitors side. My first high school game in thirty years! It's amazing how loud a small gym can get when it's packed. To me, Okoro looked more like a raw talent, especially on the offensive side. Payton looked more polished o...

West won 49-43 after being down 11. Okoro 14 points, 17 rebounds and four blocked shots. Payton: 14 points, 10 rebounds, 4 blocks.

Re: Redbirds @ Cougars

Like I ask a couple, three, 15 or 20 times every year -- what is our offensive plan?? Other than launch the first three we can find? Would help if we had some "plays" as they used to call them. Or some guys who could shoot. Or both. 0-10 from 3 so far. Ouch. This has always been my biggest issue wi...

Makes me laugh that we'll sometimes bastard'ize the Illini on this board...but we'll highly applaud an Illini transplant to Normal.

I just hope the team improve as a whole.

Next game ISU vs Milwaukee.

Milwaukee played 12 players in their last game, all over 5 mins and 12 bench points. They won 66 -57.
What was the score of the Butler vs Illinois State game?

Re: Michigan State.

Is there any reason we should schedule Michigan State - outside of the fact that they are a national powerhouse? Not saying it'd be wrong to schedule them, just curious to see if there were other reasons other than that. I just think Michigan State will probably be top five (maybe #1) in the countr...

Would love to get a buy game at Michigan State next season to go along with our already tough schedule for 2018-19.
