Re: RBF.net NCAA Bracket Challenge!

This has been such a horrible year for Illinois State basketball. Than having to watch Bradley come back from being humiliated by Northern Iowa by eighteen points to win the championship game. Now we have to hear about them going to the NCAA Tournament. My guess is that they will make it to the swee...

Saw speculation that Wichita State could play into the tourney with a win over Cincy today. Give them 20 wins, including 10 of last 12.

Re: Italy in August

Yes they did. I think they played a few games in England and the Netherlands. I guess the NCAA allows that kinda of trip every four years , so we're due. It probably comes at a good time. Hopefully we find a star juco player that had a dream of playing in Italy. Maybe every 3 years.I think they wen...

No recruits from that trip. But Reggie Lynch reportedly brought back some Spanish Fly.
Reggie Lynch was not on the Redbirds in 2016.
Who cares. It was a joke.

Re: ISU Fan Survey

$$$ is the only language Learfields speaks. You can say that again. I just felt the survey was clear to speak more to creating a report for the current and future sponsors of ISU athletics, but they framed it as a satisfaction survey. Just my opinion. I've never seen any promotions at an ISU event ...

I like it. Didn’t Bradley go on one this past summer? Just don’t get kicked out of a game like Greggggggg did. Yes they did. I think they played a few games in England and the Netherlands. I guess the NCAA allows that kinda of trip every four years , so we're due. It probably comes at a good time. ...

Re: Tristan Smith leaves team

as good as our track record is for finding RBs, we have really struggled to find good HS QBs. Kolbe was by all accounts a great get coming out of HS and got off to very promising start in 2016, but faded in 2017 .. IMO .. under OC Dicken's mis-handling of position and offense. Matt Brown was not Sp...

Re: Thoughts for this week and going into 2019-2020--HCDM centric

If I were ISU president and AD and if I were Dan Muller I would be closely studying what coaches from Wofford, Lipscomb, Murray St, Belmont, Buffalo are doing. These teams are so much better than Valley teams right now. What kind of players are they getting? What is the profile of those players? Ar...

Re: Copeland, Hein out 2019

Mistakes made in games are a byproduct of low basketball IQ. The development of which should be done by the coach(es) in practices. Games are the test. If players are failing the test, they have not been prepared enough through practices to excel and make good decisions during games. With that said...

Re: Copeland, Hein out 2019

Did he say why he was looking to transfer? Also is that against the rules for other coaches to be in contact with him? If the dad or Zach is initially reaching out to coaches what is the “legality” (rather an ncaa violation”) issue? Beyond that ISU would then have to approve the other coaches to ha...

Re: Copeland, Hein out 2019

Can’t imagine he is going to graduate. He just finished his 4th year of college. ( 2 years of juco and 2 years at ISU). With the amount of classes they take in the summer, I’m sure he’s on track to graduate. I asked his Dad in Cayman Islands if Zach was on track to graduate this year and he said “N...

He said he told Zach to stay at ISU.
My thoughts were the same about the legality of being in contact with other coaches (although I did not state that to him)

Re: Copeland, Hein out 2019

Zach’s Dad was telling me in St Louis that Zach had been in contact with a couple coaches from other schools about transferring. As I mentioned to him, I thought Zach has used up four of his five year clock. Can’t imagine he is going to graduate. Would he have to go Dll to play?

Re: 2019-2020

It is concerning to me that Dedric Boyd shot 35% from the field at E Kentucky.....yet he kept jacking it. That feels like a problem to me. More undisciplined decision-making. More Yarbrough type behavior, but at a lower percentage. Let's assume he improves marginally. Let's also assume that Copelan...

Thanks Mel! After looking at the link I remembered seeing the MVC Tournament Headquarters party there when I checked in last year.
