Re: vs. Ole Miss 12/8/18

Evans... I don't know what is won't with him but he should not dress for a few games if he is banged up. This Evans is really bad. His shot looks off. It is either coming up short or he is forcing it long. He looked like he was limping a bit and he just looks off all around. Maybe give him the week...

And ISU has the 1st SEC team in for a regular season game in 40 years. A P5. Come on man.
Why are you complaining to me?
I would think a P5 would generate more atmosphere. Guess not.
Too many Bird fans watching on TV.

So can we at least acknowledge that Key has been playing hurt all year? Granted, he has been a bigger deficit than an asset, but let's quit asking why and acknowledge that he's not been 100% all year. Is key indeed not 100 percent a known fact? Asking as I have not heard that but wondered. I do bel...

Re: 1979

I'd have to put the Jay Tunnell game as one of the worst losses by the Birds. Up 12 with 2:25 left, lost in OT. Tunnell was 8-9 from 3, had 29 points, 12 boards. Osiris had a chance to win it in regulation, but missed a fallaway jumper from 12 feet. Oguchi had 19 pts and 11 boards. I can still reme...

Re: Advanced Stats Deep Dive...

Keyshawn has gone from the big 3 to a huge liability on the court. Some other interesting facts when you compare last years stats to this years is Tinsley and Yarbarough are playing about the same as last year. But surprisingly Fayne has actually digressed this year. Other than his free throw perce...

MVC is now currently 2-20 (9% winning percentage) against Quadrant 1 and 2 teams.
This is not Doug Elgin’s fault. And this is why only one team will be representing the Missouri Valley Conference in the NCAA Tournament. And possibly another year without an NIT bid.

Despite Barry Hinson’s unsubstantiated boosterism, the reality is that this league may very well have hit rock bottom. I’m not sure how much more we’re gonna slide, but I’m hoping for a recovery in the near future. At what point do the University Presidents and ADs look for Doug Elgin to retire? He...

Re: ISU Defense

Has losing Yaklich contributed to the decline? Unequivocally, yes! I will be the first to tell you I do not want Yak as our head coach, but there are some telling numbers about our defense when he was here vs. since he left. Kenpom since Muller has been here our average defensive efficiency rating ...

Wasn’t this played on the video board during a timeout in the SDSU game?
It was. For us old guys, it was hard to hear though.

Embarrassing....We were run out of the gym by a 3 and 5 team. Just awful.
Could be worse. Could lose at home to High Point.

No excuses. Disgraceful. I think the worst loss since I became a Redbird fan in 1977.
Short term memory.

Rico, I don't think anybody that has been involved in the selection metrics or process since 2006 has any clue, or would care about the stats you are submitting. And they don't care about the numbers I posted -- ACTUAL RESULTS. As long as we are not a P5, it is gonna take moving heaven and earth, o...

ESPN changed College Basketball when it started back in the early 80’s and it promoted what is now the Power 5 conferences. All the top high school players wanted to be on TV so they chose to go to those schools. The Power 5 conferences were now starting to get the money from ESPN which also helped ...

I have no "axe" to grind. I am a former Letter winner, have been a Redbird Club/WSF member since 1992, basketball season ticket holder since 1992, and football since 1997. But, to think the ISU Athletic Admin is doing a good job - I would strongly disagree. They are average at best - very nice peop...

Beat them in the NIT in the old barn in 97/8 and then started a home and home up there the following year. Lost both of those games This is what I remember, was at both. Dick Bennett was the coach at UW then, I believe that's why they went on the road to play us, he had been at UW-Green Bay and "re...

Some good things there. But, can he run an offense, get assists, and get steals. That's what this team is missing most Muller compared him to PLee. That's high praise, and someone who did all of the things you mentioned. I can remember some on here posting that we needed a point guard because PLee ...

Here are the Nevada minutes but this is extreme in that they only used 7 players. In same game Custer and Townes had 37 minutes each. Williamson played 32. Saw the Purdue box score last night and they had Edwards at 39 minutes and another starter at 37 (might have been Eastern). I would hope that b...
