Re: Is this the year?

I’ve been a Redbird fan since the Moser era. I’m sure some of the older guys/gals can point to other great teams, but could this be one of the best assembled Redbird rosters in a very long time? On paper it seems that way. We didn’t really have the defections we thought we might and we signed some ...

Re: Never too early... 18-19 Non-conf schedule

Thats what I like to see! Has the making of beating South Carolina game 1 in last year's tournament. A win gets us a shot at a very strong Clemson squad. A win against Georgia & Clemson could get us a championship game against Creighton  And pave the way for an undefeated season. Seriously th...

Re: Never too early... 18-19 Non-conf schedule

We have some very generous donors but no “whales” who commit 7 figures to the program on a regular basis or a collective of people who do so. Your top 500-750 donors, if not top 1,000 will pay more for season tickets than any students will pay in fees. I am the biggest advocate of what the students...

Re: Muller Math

So as I said in the other thread we don't know that Gassman is or isn't a WO past this season. Scholarships are one year deals so until someone shows me something official that says other wise, I'm going to assume he is like Hein and this is a one year thing. As far as we don't pay for the freight,...

Wharton is a very cool place with tremendous history. Not for the MVC tourney, but a great gym.
I was kidding about hosting the MVC tourney at Wharton. But agree, it is a cool venue. Kind of a Horton Field House feel.

Re: Arch Madness No Longer at Scottrade Center

The naming rights to the building were sold. There will be an announcement Monday at 10 a.m. to introduce the building's new name. I was excited that it might be moving out of St. Louis. It might be better in Moline...in a smaller arena, cheaper hotels, etc. Heck, I'd be okay with them just rotatin...

Re: Muller Math

It Looks like Gassman is a non-scholarship player next year. All 13 slots are filled now. Well, hopefully he gets it back for his last two years. Can't say I was surprised by this... Hopefully, he doesn’t. Hopefully, Muller keeps recruiting over his current roster. Don’t get the mindset on here tha...

Re: Zenger out at Kansas

It was really just a matter of time. He's a nice guy, but he spent a lot more time talking about what he was going to accomplish, than accomplishing it. As usual you are leaving out an important component. Yes Sheahon Zenger talked about the potential here at Illinois State being similar to Kansas ...

Re: Eight-Man Rotation?

I don't think Rey or Abdou start. At least to start the year. I think Boogie starts and Milik plays the "four." At the end of the season Muller had Milik guarding Krutwig and Pippen by fronting them in the post even when Fayne was in the game. I thought for the most part Milik did a pretty good job...

Re: Muller Math

I’m not ripping on Hein. Just my opinion that scholarships should be awarded for talent more than effort. That said, Dan awards PT based on effort over talent, so Hein very well could get minutes based on perceived lack of effort by other Redbird players. If Hein playing ahead of them doesn’t shame ...

Re: Muller's Summer Press Conference

1- Milik 2- Fayne 3- Boogie 4-Keyshawn 5-Copeland 6-Jefferson 7-Elijah 8-Taylor 9-Rey 10-Abdou 11-Boyd 12- Fisher 13-Hillsman. WO:Chastain WO:Gassman WO: Hein. Though Muller didn't speak directly to it, I believe Gassman will lose his and Chastain will stay off scholarship. It'll be tough not to ha...

Re: Muller Math

Hein’s minutes will evaporate. He’ll graduate, and decide to move on with his life. I think he’s played his last year on scholarship at ISU. The 3-1 scholarship/pay you own way arrangement was a helluva deal for a handcuff with very little basketball talent. Not to mention, he was handcuffed to a hu...

Copeland and Jefferson arent point guards, are they?

Also, has Chastain news been announced somewhere I didn't see? Officially, he's a scholarship player, no?

When was Chastain ever on scholarship?
Never
At Loyola.

2 things here. 1st, and most important... Matt Hein you're awesome. Thank you for everything you've done, and continue to do for this University. What an awesome gesture. 2nd, and needs to be said... I'm gong to again go back to all of the people saying Muller runs people off and overrecruits. They...

Re: 2019 - Francis Okoro, 6-9/225, C, Normal Community West HS

Talk of reclassifying as 2018 recruit? Already not convinced he’s a high major contributor. IMO, another year of HS would benefit his development. That said, another year of HS would be better served in a program better than Normal West. He probably doesn’t get better at West. I have a feeling Orego...

"Just walk away" was the best advice, but...........and I'm not a defense attorney........the "facts," may not add up to anything all that serious. Her allegation that she was "pushed" in the back as she was going down a flight of stairs might be subjective. She might have felt "contact" and interp...

I don't think he'll be suspended for this.
I don’t disagree. But if this was my daughter he had pushed, I would feel differently. But I would probably just kicked his ass, and be done with it.

http://www.latimes.com/sports/highschool/la-sp-fisher-westchester-sondheimer-20160115-column.html A good writeup on Keith.
